1.
Thank-you Sir! How's life treating you in the far north?
Fine thanks my friend. I'm glad I made the move up here apart from stupid couriers charging extra cos they think I live in the Highlands and Islands. Best of luck with the sale!
2. Having traded with Anndra in the past everybody should feel very confident that the bass is exactly as it appears in these superb shots. Thorough gentleman to deal with. Have no worries all you Ric 4003 owners!
3. If it's your bass then you can do what you like with it, just never let it see the light of day.
4. I just don't understand why ebay don't do anything when an auction is reported as obviously being a wrongun. Is it at all possible that they contact the seller and buyer and try to resolve the issue without anyone else knowing. It really does dent any confidence I would have in buying anything of value from ebay.
5. I always think that it helps a sale to post pics here as opposed to email. I may be wrong however. Best of luck with the trade/sale.
6. I was really quite happy with my stuff and not really coveting anybody else's bass until I saw a one-year old Precision for sale. I had fancied one of the new Amercian Standard Precisions to add to my other two precisions and when Mr. Zed was selling his 2010 sunburst and maple neck precision I kept going back to the ad. After some domestic negotiation the inevitable happened and the bass now resides in chez Hutton. What a cracker it is too!!
7. I saw Beverley Knight and her band playing Glasgow a couple of years ago. It was a great gig. Lots of energy and superb musicianship all round. The only problem was two bloody women who were standing behind me and talking incessantly about bugger all in particular all through the gig. Why did they bother paying money to go to the gig? They could have sat at home with a box of maltesers and talked until their tongues were frayed at the edges.
8. Extremely nice bass Rick. However, I preferred it without the relic treatment.
9. I have a recollection from the 70s or it was maybe early 80s of Suzi giving away one of her basses to be auctioned for a TV charity event. It might have been the early days of children in need. Anyway, Suzi's ok with me. I was a teenager in the 70s when she was rampaging around in tight leather. Enough said!

How much?

I'm getting confused. Is this thread about someone selling a bass, if so, then a price should now be stated. If it's a discussion about values, which I quite like the look of, then should it not shift to 'Basses' or 'General Bass Discussion'?
11. My go to bass is my 62 reissue.
12.
My 1999 US standard Jazz has Schaller locks fitted. You still have to buy a set to get the bits that go on the strap anyway Edit: Corrected year of bass - doh!
The new Fenders that I purchased had the strap part included amongst the case candy. You can usually get individual bits from Ebay and Allparts.
13. Funny isn't it. I've never had a problem with them. They are on all my basses.
14. I picked up these strapbuttons the other day. Fender American Series made by Schaller. Interesting!
15. You would be better to post this in the 'Items Wanted' section my friend. All the best.
16.
Hooray, sensible move Hutton. Now go and make your wife a cup of tea
I might even manage a bit of toast as well! Thanks Michael.
17. I have decided that I really like this bass too much to let it go. The lady of the house agrees - what a woman! So thanks for all the interest and the kind posts but the DJ4 is now withdrawn. Hooray!!!
18.
I can vouch for Hutton as being a top bloke who really knows his stuff. Whoever buys this stunning bass will not be disappointed. Best of luck with the sale.
Thanks for your kind comments Andy.
19. 'The Least We Can Do......' is one of my very favourite albums. It takes me down memory lane in a big way! Thanks muchly for the post!
20.
Wow, real shame. Have a bump on me for a superb bass.
You're too kind Michael. I have to be honest and say that if this doesn't go then I won't be disappointed. It'll just have to stay in my collection and finance be damned!
21.
Wow, I never ever thought I would see this for sale Hutton. Got your eye on something else?
I know Michael. However, I have just bought another precision and had to make a decision based on finance and not on my desire to have the DJ4 in my collection.
22. Hi Sven, I actually live in a town called Keith in Scotland. My name is Hutton. Anyway, I have played the DJ4 through both rigs with very satisfying results. I don't think that one is necessarily better than the other, just different. One is a 300 watt 1X12 with the other being 500 watts and a 4X10. Both rigs are excellent. Thanks for your question.
23. Up for sale is my 2007 Lakland DJ4 in Lake Placid Blue with Rosewood fingerboard. The bass was made in Korea and is fitted with Lakland pickups. Included in the sale will be; an aftermarket hard case, the Lakland gig bag and a Hipshot X-tender which I removed and replaced with the correct Hipshot tuner. The only mark on the bass is small and hardly noticeable but I have included it in the photographs for the sake of transparency. This is an extremely well-made, nice sounding, and playable bass. I will be happy to answer any questions which potential purchasers may have. I am looking for £750 which will include delivery to the UK only.
24. I see that this subject has now become aired on the EBMM forum. The thread there has now been closed and perhaps this one now needs to do the same.
