  1. Excellent. Many thanks!
  2. Does anyone know anywhere that sells just the strap part of the new S-Locks? I like the strap part but am not crazy about the strap buttons. I'm trying to save a few bob and not end up with three or four sets of buttons that I don't need.
  3. Just purchased an extremely nice Squier 77 VM Jazz from George. The bass is superb with some very nice upgrades to enhance an already fine instrument. George is a great guy to do business with. Comms are excellent and the bass was in my hands in mega-quick time. The packaging was also a work of art. George is a credit to Basschat!
  4. Not surprised. One lucky new owner is getting a tremendous bass.
  5. What an absolute beauty. I have a Dan Smith era Precision in Ivory. These early 80s basses are high quality and can only rise in value as people realise how good they are. IMHO they are a vast improvement on the late 70s offerings from Fender. This Jazz is in fantastic nick and a very real bargain at this price.
  6. What a cracking looking bass. I bet it sounds and plays as good as it looks!
  7. Nice pics. Is that Shawlands?
  8. Email is working ok. I’ll try another browser. Thanks.👍
  9. Thanks chaps. I’ll try these things and hopefully get a result.
  10. My Mac desktop is working rather strangely on safari. It won’t properly load things like Facebook and basschat. They either load as normal or the blue line at the top of the screen only comes along so far then stops and nothing else happens. I am running Mohave. Everything loads fine on my iPhone and iPad. Any thoughts anyone?
  11. The binding is great. That's what makes it a 'special' run. GLWTS!
  12. I have really tried to buy from the only music store in my city. However, they never have what I am looking for and show no interest in obtaining it for me. I now don't bother even going in for a look as it's pointless. The only other music store sells used gear at often silly prices as they are mostly commission sales which pushes the price up. Basschat is a far better place to buy which is where I get most of my stuff now.
  13. I would specify. I wanted TI flats on the precision which he made for me and he was happy to oblige.
  14. That's what we want to hear. Well done Bass Direct!
  15. I know this doesn't help whatsoever but I just wonder why can Hipshot not make the larger bushings available in the UK. It's surely not a difficult thing to do.
  16. Ibanez RS840BK
  17. It is a very nice bass which was well worth bringing back to life.
  18. Just sold a Fender case to Aidan. A true gent and a pleasure to do business with. I love it when a plan comes together!
  19. I have for sale a Fender Black Moulded case which is the one that was in use before the current case. It is the one known as the 'red handle' case. I bought the case brand new and it has never left my house. It was bought to hold a Jazz bass which was only in the case for a short time before it was sold. The case has been sitting in a cupboard unused. It is in obviously excellent condition. Due to the condition of the case I am looking for £100 including delivery to the UK.

I bought this rather nice 1981 RS840BK back in September last year. It was in a bit of a sorry state and needed a lot of work on the body and a refinish to make it presentable. The electrics were also bizarre so the whole thing was rewired with correct Japanese pots. The original knobs and truss rod cover were missing and these have been replaced with reproduction parts from the USA. After the refinish the body was then given an 'aged' look to match in with the neck which was in very good nick. All in all I am very happy with the way the bass has turned out. If anyone has an original case that they are willing to sell I would be interested.

  22. Are you sure these are the original pups?
  23. I waited four months.
  24. I honestly doubt very much that you are going to get a pickguard 'off the shelf' which meets your requirements. You will probable have to go down the custom build route. Try these guys: https://www.originalscratchplates.com they are in a UK company and appear not to charge a fortune.
