2.
Is this gonna be the first single cut?
Think it's the first fishtail one.
 3. Morning all, right, work seems to be going pretty well and I now have the means so I've decided I need a new 5'er in the collection. Having admired the stuff on Robbie's thread for a while I've decided to take the plunge and go for one of these, it was originally going to be a fishtail SC but under pain of death I'm tightening the budget a tad as my wife has decided I have to take her somewhere decent on hols this year! Spec is: 34" scale bolt on with 19mm string spacing at the bridge. Body: Ash with Myrtle wood top and no pickgurard (see the pics of the wood and template shape below) with gloss finish Neck: Maple 3 piece flame/rock/flame. Board: Bird eye maple with 12" radius and rolled edges, 24 frets Side dots: blue luminlay. RIM Jazz headstock with myrtle facing, Hipshop ultralite tuners in black Hipshot type A bridge in black RIM custom wound pickups x 2 in a 70's jazz position East U-retro deluxe preamp
 4.
If that plays and sounds as good as my old one, then this will make somebody very happy.
The ACG's feel and sound great, lovely basses, if I had any spare cash it would be mine but alas I don't at the mo!
 5.
real purdy...
Have a bump for a fantastic bass!
 6.
and
I owned this one from new and it cost a fair bit more than this, a very decent bass with a lovely neck and well worth a punt.
 7.
Thats going to be a thing of beauty
love that wood, mines going to be a headed version of one of these, stylish!
 8.
Sounds great. I like the fingerboard wood in particular (Alan has a great selection of woods). Is the Salace body shape on ACG website? I can't seem to find it.
Only pics of headless ones on progress, this one with have a headstock so the body will be slightly different; Zebrano I love, esp with a bit of purple heart!
 9.
Cool. I'll be watching this one carefully. Good timber choices.
book matched top.
 10.
those Bare Knuckle pps sound very nice... and cheap at 135 for the pair.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5RNc1g92XI
Yeah, I have Shuker building me a "vintage" jazz at the mo and they're going in that, should be good, I hope!
 11.
The Fender CS pups always sounded good to me.. where are these available? Really like the Bartolini Jazz SC pickups though.. and there much more ergonomic than most jazz pickups..
Have you heard any of the "bare knuckle" pups? A mate of mine had a bass with them in, sounded like a great trad kind of noise to me.
 12.
Bought a TC RH450 from Stuart, a pleasure doing business...
Just sold Stuart one of my ACG's, perfect transaction and a pleasure to do business with, can highly recommend. Cheers Stuart.
 13.
I can't believe that this hasn't sold yet. It's the equivalent of an Audi at the price of a Ford. Alan's quality of building basses is uncompromising whether he builds a full spec custom bass or a Graft. It's just the construction methods, hardware and number of options that differ. People pay twice this for a knackered 70's Fender - makes no sense at all.
I'm baffled too! I'm taking a huge hit money wise on this one but if it goes I don't have to sell my 5 which I use more.... or if my "employers" get there shizzle together and pay me I can keep both!
 14.
Cheers Rich, they are really good basses, my acg 5 is in now so this one isn't getting much playing.
Price drop.
 15.
Cheers guys, if I get paid I won't have to part with it, tis a cash-flow thing! Bank manager? Call centre!
Bump.
 16.
Ouch good luck with the sale, get a couple of tickets on saturday eh?
Cheers guys, if I get paid I won't have to part with it, tis a cash-flow thing! Bank manager? Call centre!
 17.
Stunning bass!! Good luck with the sale. Giblett is a pleasure to deal with, buy with confidence! (Fretless still going strong to by the way!) Dan
Cheers for the kind words Dan, glad the Sandberg is still doing the job, great value those, there's one knocking around for the mo at £400, bonkers money for such a decent bass!
 18.
Gutted to see you've got to part with it. I've posted a link up on Finnbass for all the drooling ACG madmen and fanbois over there. (I include myself in that description.)
Yeah, I'm gutted, just got some contract hours in for some work I do, I'm currently down £300+ a week and haven't received a couple of payments, obviously the bank is no help! Gutted, it is a gorgeous bass and once lloyds are off my back I'll get another, best noise on the planet!
 19. Evening all, Now sold, a sad day but going to another acg enthusiast, cheers for all the support everyone much appreciated in a difficult week.
 20.
Holy crap! Lovely bass with tonnes of aggression in the preamp. Thank you VERY much. And, as an aside, it IS true what everyones being saying about the flat board and asymmetric neck. Feels great. Might put up a review/some vids of what this bass can do but first I need to get deep into the preamp, it's very powerful. Wal-like on first tweak. Cheers! Nick
It's one he'll of a bass, I couldn't play it, just too many strings for me so I got Alan to build me a PJ 5 but the build quality and sounds on tap with these are serious.
 21.
Are you absolutely sure about that? This is mine: Weighs a whisker over 8.5 lbs. Mine is passive, but it has two pickups as opposed to your one and I can't believe that your pre-amp weighs that much more than another pickup.
Thats the one! still loving it Jack?
 22.
MB1. And Black Beauty is a horse! Nice STATUS Bass! BUMP!
I used to own one of these, really decent basses and mine cost way more than this, could be a bargain for someone!
 23.
SR-800?
There was a bob glaub that had been converted to a passive pj in the for sale section, not sure if it's still there but maybe worth a look.
 24.
Played this the other day, a really great bass... especially for that price! Someone snap it up quick before the market picks up and you regret not buying it.
Cheers Rich, they are really good basses, my acg 5 is in now so this one isn't getting much playing.
 25.
Ah nice one Giblett! go buy it....take us one more step to a record deal Afraid you are a little wrong, Charlie is on lead Geetar.. I take it you know him from somewhere??
Trained him as a teacher quite a while back (jeez, how old do I feel now) and he did lots of drumming with us, he's always posting about his "lesbian" band on facebook, I put 2+2 together! Great band, he never told us it was good! Bound to sell.
