1.
This is a stunning looking bass, I have a shuker and if mine's anything to go by this will be top quality and damn good price as well. Oh and I love to top, same wood as my Sei Jazz - beautiful. EDIT: bloody spelling mistakes
Very nice!
 2.
I had a Shuker jazz as a gift from my wife at christmas, which was nice I've been having a vibrating noise coming from it when I play an open E or A. Ithought it was a problem with the nut but when I took it to a local luthier in Cardiff yesterday called Dave Dearnaley and he informed me that the problem is due to the set up. Apparently it needs a fret dressing as the string is catching the high end frets (12+) Is this normal for a newly made bass?
Wouldn't have thought so but I guess it does happen. Nigel Roberts at Leicestershire luthier is another setup/ "optimisation bod that's well worth trying, his service includes the full fret dress and all the trimmings and is v v good, he's worked on a number of my basses and they have all come back playing like a dream, paying an extra few quid to have this kind of work done is worth every penny and the difference in terms of sound and playability can be quite drastic.
 3.
It's sunburst. It was originally owned by a US Musician who was a Lakland endorsee. He had a US Glaub as his main live bass and had this Skyline as his backup. The Chicago factory guys got their hands on it before they passed it to him and it has some extras to make it an exact replica of his US model with a torty pickguard and the thumbrest over the pickup. The pup is a Lindy Fralin. It wasn't used live, apparently, coz he never needed his backup. He left the band about six years back and kept both Glaubs before selling this one to me in 2007. It's a very nice bass which I've gigged a few times so it's not showroom condition but it's bloody close.
I love Glaubs, if I hadn't bought an acg 6 and ordered a 5 I'd do a swap but I'm in need of some dosh, lots off basses, to bigger overdraft!
 4.
Supressed market, job losses, belt tightening. It's a scary world out there and not much is shifting. This is a truly daft price for a fabulous bass and I'm frankly astonished that it's not shifted. I'm toying with the idea of selling my Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub (which I never use any more) to raise some dosh for this. The problem is of course, that that probably won't sell either. Have a bumb anyway while I have a think about it.
Ahhh... Glaub, I've just had mine "pimped up" by Nigel Roberts at Leicestershire luthier, refret, nut, custom wound pickup, seems a bonkers idea but the bloke reckoned it would make a difference, he was right, it's taken a very decent bass and turned it into a truly stunning one! What colour is yours?
 5.
This not gone yet? A great bass for that price.
Fraid not, I was a tad surprised too, the shape is a matter of taste I suppose but they are serious basses in this price bracket, I may keep it and go the old fashioned way and save some pennies to pay for an extra new toy!
 6.
Sunday bump.
Price drop.
 7.
Back up.
Sunday bump.
 8.
Its a guy named Heath and he's selling a couple of his basses cheaply at the moment. A friend of mine endorses them and his bass is a work of art. It is breathtaking and stunning, beautifully crafted. I can certainly vouch for their quality, they also have a mind boggling choice of woods! I can't say much about how it plays as I was frightened to go near it. My mate absolutely loves it. Give him a call (details on their web site) and have a chat. Very nice chap.
Cheers for the info, will do, I just stumbled across and have a love for the weird & wonderful! will check it out.
 9.
Been to Bass Direct, tried a few Combustions....nice...tried a couple of ABZs....ooh very nice and then there was the Afterburner 1 ...meltdown. Gotta have one of them
Gday Alan, So is the fan thing ok then? comfy to play? The long scale bit puts me off a tad, don't know if I could play it! There's now an ACG fanned one coming, maybe he'd do a shorter one for someone with stunted arms like me?!
 10. Gday everyone, Anyone ever played or know anything about Ruach basses? Just curious!
 11.
I've changed the spec on this one from Finn to Recurve. Progress.
I love the look of that, I'm in the process of freeing up some funds to get myself one with some exotic timber involved, these are seriously good basses.
 12.
Cheers scoop, much appreciated! Next week is half term Rich so I'm about, let me know, I may yet ill this and float one of my others.
Or even "pull" it, bloody apple auto correct thingy!
 13.
Bump - and just to let you know that I've added a link to this advert on the ACG Facebook page. Click on the link in my sig.
Cheers scoop, much appreciated! Next week is half term Rich so I'm about, let me know, I may yet ill this and float one of my others.
 14.
Swift price drop to get things moving.
Quick bump to ease my gas.
 15.
Where abouts are you in Birmingham?
Great Barr, nr J7 on the M6, your more than welcome to come and play it, as is anyone else!
 16.
8lbs.
Swift Sunday bump!
 17.
Nah, very easy to play, the balance on these is excellent, they just sit there! I'll have to climb on the scales and weigh it, Will get back to you on that.
8lbs.
 18.
How does it sit when you are playing sitting down? Is it uncomfortable? Strange shape.
Nah, very easy to play, the balance on these is excellent, they just sit there! I'll have to climb on the scales and weigh it, Will get back to you on that.
 19.
Great basses these - staggering value.
They are fantastic bases, having avoided anything with more than 4 strings with a passion bordering on paranoia I've finally realised I'm more comfortable and fluent on the bigger necked 5's and 6's so I'm moving on my 4's to fund it, I have a 5 on order and really fancy a 33" 5er.
 20. Afternoon everyone! Here we have my ACG "graft" Harlot, which I've had from new and briefly floated a year or so ago as a feeler to raise some cash when work was short. My build projects are now coming in (In the build diaries) so I need to free up some funds. The graft is hand built in ACG's Moffat workshop and the build quality and components are top drawer, it is a fine piece of craftsmanship. Specs are: Alder body with a Shedua top. 3 piece Maple neck with a Rosewood board. John East 2 band cut & boost EQ with selectable frequency centres for the bass and treble. ACG FB humbucker pickup. Hipshot Type B bridge & Gotoh GB7 tuners. Satin finish, weighs a tad under 8lbs. Condition: Its A1. Price: I'd like £500 or a near(ish) offer PRICE DROP £475 yes I can ship, (sorry but no trades this time please, its a fund raiser)EDIT: I may consider trading for a small(ish) amp, eg a promethean, Genz shuttle combo, markbass CMD112, or something decent for pitwork (with a cash adjustment either way if needed) or possibly a fretless....? Thanks for looking! Chris.
 21.
Well phit!
Stunning, what do these things cost?
 22.
Ah, another stonker of an ACG; I'm thinking this won't hang about for long. Oddly enough(but of absolutely no use to you Martin), I've toyed with the idea of trading my Harlot 5...but alas, only for another top-quality 5-string(if you came across a Status or Sad 5 and wanted an ACG 5.... ) One word of comfort for those who initially imagine an ACG to be weighty: in my experience only , if they are(and my own is no heavier than my previous bass), then it would seem to be only by a pound or so. More importantly, they balance so extremely well when in playing position either on the knee or standing, that weight has never been an issue. I suffer with occasional back issues, and I can safely say that my Les Paul copy gives me more jip than an ACG..and I can safely play the ACG for a 2 hour set, no worries. G'wan g'wan g'wan
+1 on that, I also have a dodgy back and the balance on these is superb and mine give me no probs, they just "hang right", very comfortable to play.
 23.
too heavy for me but i love that work of perfection
Lovely basses, the craftsmanship on these is top drawer, well worth a punt.
 24.
Bump.
Really surprised this is still here, its a lovely bass, not a mark and sounds fantastic, I guess the post xmas credit card bills have landed!
 25.
The J ash wont be as light it is made from Northern Ash not the light weight Swamp Ash.
Ahh but it will still be beautiful!
