2.
Wow. Now THAT is beautiful ! Another wonderful bass from the Giblett stable. Where do you get them from ? Good luck !
This one came from Status! sorry Colin, couldn't resist! I've decided to shave another hundred quid off the asking price (now £999) as I want a quick sale, so there you go, a new status for under a grand!

 4.
Thanks DJ. I had a few emails asking about the neck......its a sort of P bass profile, not narrow and certainly not mega thin. I suspect the mass contriburtes to the solid tone. Presently set to a low action. Smoothly varnished ( no problems of the dirty fingerboards that you get on MM gun oiled necks) and I find it smooth and fast to play. Bank holiday bump and I'm open to offers
Surprised noone has gone for this one yet, nice looking and a really solid bass, what kind of ballpark offers are you looking for Colin?
 5.
The brewing is looking very promising! it wont be ready for another 3 weeks(ish) and I'm hoping to sell this one before then! If you want to come and play it then feel free, just let me know when. Cheers.
Price drop to get things moving.
Afternoon Rich, its unmistakably a status but with a bit extra, you get the the sustain and clarity you'd expect but if anything it seems beefier, kind of "wider"? it's difficult to describe but its very responsive, it has a ridiculously good slap sound which is wasted on my gimp like technique and has to be the punchiest passive I've played. Fancy coming over and giving it a try?
Swift bump, I have something else coming in so I'm open to offers(ish)!
 8.
I am sure the price will get up there. Or somewhere near up there
Could be a bargain up for grabs here!

 10.
That is very pretty. Best of luck!
Cheers Andy, its quite difficult to photo, the colour is slightly darker than it looks on the pics, kind of cherry like, as you say, a pretty bass!
 11. Evening all, here we have my Status Graphite "vintage" PJ4 which I bought from new a few weeks ago,...now gone.
 12.
Thanks Steve Really enjoyed meeting you, and would definately like to meet up, or trade again sometime That weather was something else wasn't it I got a few disbelieving looks on the way home....People on the motorway couldn't believe they were seeing an old Mk2 Escort out in the snow! Cheers Mate, Rich
Just sold my Alembic to Rich, absolute pleasure doing business, the escort is very stylish! Cheers mate.

 14.
Yep, me too. Nice player. Well balanced, doesn't feel the wrong side of ten though.
Nope, its really well balanced, no neck dive etc, I have a frozen shoulder & can still play ok with it, strap wise I'm using a chepo levi which is comfy(ish) I'd like to get something wide and soft leather but can't find anything anywhere so if anybody knows where they can be picked up drop me a line!
 15.
Not sure but I'll jump on the bathroom scales when I get in, there is a fair bit of wood involved hear so I suspect it will be north of the 10lb mark.
Just over 10.5 lbs so not a light weight but it is very well balanced.
 16.
American made G&L L-1500 in tobacco sunburst . Excellent glossy condition, with original case. It's is a USA made bass, not a tribute series Searching the web tells me that this is the G&L equivalent of the sterling. Tone is precise, full and aggressive - an apparently well known charactersitic of the L-1500 . Neck and headstock are unmarked ( as far as I can see). Metal work is as bright as new, The body is glossy and has three dings - Ive photo'd them as best I can - a small one by the pick up, a 3x5mm dink and an elogated indentation near the strap button. The bass has hardly been used by me, or the previous owner, who was a local guy who got it from new. Label on the back gives the original price as £1079. Comes with original G&L case with one one loose button underneath but otherwise in excellent condition Weight : 8.8 lb ( by my bathroom scales) Colour : The sunburst is less garish than in the photos Date : difficult . Its a CLF serial number which seems to be late 90s early 2000s No trades (unless you have some Phil jones gear ) and I will entertain offers on the asking price. 17.
What's the weight of this beauty?
Not sure but I'll jump on the bathroom scales when I get in, there is a fair bit of wood involved hear so I suspect it will be north of the 10lb mark.
 18.
A real nice 5, the 34" scale length works really well, particularly if you are not used to playing fives. Great bass.
cheers guys, she is a beaut, the pics don't really do her justice, the bass is immaculate, has to be played to be believed!
 19. Morning all, Next phase of my grand clear out! I thought about doing this a couple of months back but chickened out & pulled it! This is my Alembic Orion 5.... and gone.
 20.
Pm'd mate.
I've had these before & have some more due this week, they are lovely instruments & at this price are well worth a punt!
 21.
Ahhhhhh, it was worth a try. I really wanted to try one and desperately wanted to like it, but we were not destined to be together. I keep going back to my £180 MTD Kingston. It fits for now, so I figured "why fight it?"
If only I wasn't skint, I've just bought a Status vintage PJ, it is an awesome sounding bass as will this be, there's got to be a bargain for someone here!
 22.
Bought a set of Elixirs off Colin - very rapid delivery, and a pleasure to deal with. A
Sold my Alembic to Colin, a pleasure doing business & look forward to the next time. Cheers Chris.
 23.
Wow! This is the first Bongo that i really like the look of! I'd love to try one! If i had the cash i'd go for it
I was really pleasantly surprised by it as it was one I hadn't originally considered, a very ballsy useable sound, also a really easy player, I'd hold on to it but I've got a new Shuker coming in so need to free up some cash.
 24.
Another one for Leicestershire - Nigel Roberts, http://www.leicestershire-luthier.co.uk/ 07956889394/01530454945, sort of between Loughborough and Coalville and not far from Jct23 of the M1 - very thorough and will make sure a job is done properly before he lets it go. Has lots of work so sometimes his queue to get things done is substantial, but he has had my Les Paul and Precision bass since Friday (11th October?) and I've been told they're nearly finished which is good enough for me. Currently also working on a headstock break for my guitarist.
Nigel has just fret dressed & set up my Alembic 5, top job & it plays great, I can highly recommend.
