2.
Cheers Robbie, they are stunning, I had a moment of weakness & bought another shuker so have to pay for it some how! has your Ric gone yet?
Swift bump!
 3.
Very nice
I miss mine loads (doh), fine bass, good luck with the sale.
 4.
This is what happens when you get older, and try typing without glasses thanks for that all sorted.
Was in the Gallery for a while this one, v nice player & could well be worth a punt!
 5.
Hi Chris this should fly at that price I purchase the one from bass gallery last week and not the special like yours plays excellent yes it is weighty but the finish and wood says it all.O yes by the way you know a good friend of mine James we was only talking about you yesterday. guys buy this beauty I tried it's a guitar for life cheers Robbie.
Cheers Robbie, they are stunning, I had a moment of weakness & bought another shuker so have to pay for it some how! has your Ric gone yet?
 6.
Still not gone cant believe this. Does this bass have a good range of tones?
Yep! very clean sound, great to record with & has real punch, I'm not a slapper but "richardrickenbacker" had a go on it & is a great noise.
 7.
Having just got the fretless 5 Alembic today, I am absolutely blown away. Build quality that blows everything else away, and sound and playability I've never even seen in a fretless before! These basses are just obviously out of this world! This fretted bass for sale here will no doubt be incredible too!
They are very very good instruments, alas the market is dead at the mo, it seems nobody has any dosh, a sign of the times I guess!
 8.
That five was a bargain, as is this!!
Yeah, at that price he's got a very serious bargain! I'm also considering trades on this one so if you have something interesting drop me a line, I'm fairly open minded as long as it isn't knackered!
 9.
I had this off Beedster a few months back, so all the info here; http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...amp;hl=Beedster It's a fabulous bass and Chris's pics don't do justice to just how stunning it looks, but I'm GAS-ing for something vintage-ey and have got two other fretlesses - so need to move the "last one in" on. Exactly as received from Chris, other than I've put the original Ric bridge back on, but it'll come with the as-new Hipshot bridge he supplied, and strung with Pyramid Gold flats. I'll take some pics of my own at the weekend. Price is £950 firm - less than I've got invested in it and a good bit less than ebay prices - shipping on top, and if the bass I'm after goes first this will be withdrawn. cheers, Greg
Surprised this one hasn't gone yet, a good price for something you don't see every day!
 10.
Definitely one for those who like "interesting" basses! I've grown tired of the whole "Fender" or "Fender-a-like" thing. Basses like this for me represent the cream of the crop, something incredibly well made that is a bit different, something you wouldn't usually see strolling into a guitar shop on the high street! Incidentally, with it being an Alembic you can also guarantee quality, as high a compliment as you can get! As it happens, I should have a fretless Alembic Epic 5 string coming in the post tomorrow since I missed collection today!
The 5 your getting used to be mine! I sold it to James a while back, you won't be disappointed, it is stunning, v solid & has a sound to die for, gorgeous.. shame i couldn't play the thing!
 11.
As a long-time Fender devotee I recently jumped into Alembic world and bought an 86 Spoiler. The build quality and attention to detail is amazing comapred with Fenders. This is an amazing deal for a beautiful bass.
Obviously I'm going to agree with all of the above! it is a lovely bass that is built to a seriously high standard, it isn't a lightweight but the balance is spot on, I'm feeble(ish) & it doesn't kill me playing it!
Top bloke to deal with. Bought my 1516 and picked it up the next day. Nice one Jim ! J
Just sold my Ray 5 to Jim, great bloke & a totally hassle free transaction. Cheers Jim.
 13.
10 lbs, so not really a light weight!
Final reduction before the bay!
 14.
Not entirely sure, I'll brave the bathroom scales when I get in & post it for you.
10 lbs, so not really a light weight!
 15.
how heavy is the bass?
Not entirely sure, I'll brave the bathroom scales when I get in & post it for you.
 16.
Apparently so, there aren't that many epics knocking around so I suppose that makes it rare(ish)!
Things very slow & I have something else coming in so I've shaved £150 off the asking price taking it to £999.
 17.
Only 60, WOW!!
Apparently so, there aren't that many epics knocking around so I suppose that makes it rare(ish)!
 18.
Okey doke.. more info, apparently they were a run of 60 commissioned by the Guitar Centre USA to celebrate their anniversary, the differences over the standard model are: Flamed maple top, engraved brass plate truss rod cover, oval inlays, walnut & purple heart striping (whatever that means)!
Sunday PM bump.
 19.
Cheers Barry, I'll go have a look & see what I can find.
Okey doke.. more info, apparently they were a run of 60 commissioned by the Guitar Centre USA to celebrate their anniversary, the differences over the standard model are: Flamed maple top, engraved brass plate truss rod cover, oval inlays, walnut & purple heart striping (whatever that means)!
 20. Hi all, I've seen something that I have lusted after since the dawn of time & would sell my grannie to own, but for the sake of a quiet life I thought I'd better try & sell my ray first! Its a 5 string 3 eq in cherry burst with 34" scale & a maple board. Condition wise its probably a good 9/10, neck & fret work are excellent & it has been recently set up by the Gallery, the body has a couple of small dings (pictured) but is otherwise in good order with no sign of abuse, electronics are fine, this bass has no issues whatsoever. Price.... I'm taking a hit on this for a v quick sale so I don't miss the bass I'm after, I'm floating it at £650 or a "sensible" offer, I can ship & if your ever in the Midlands you are welcome to come & try it out. Cheers for looking Chris PS Sorry but no trades on this one please.
 21.
I posted on the Alembic owners forum for you - might be someone there who knows a little more for you
Cheers Barry, I'll go have a look & see what I can find.
 22.
Do you know why this is a 'special' (other than being very nice indeed, lol).
Fraid not, I have very little info on it other than it has a funky little brass plate telling me it is number 38 from 60, there also a 5 string special ed up at the mo (not mine), they are fantastic basses, real top draw stuff, its just I've found something else that I really like playing, ironically it is cheaper than one of these!
 23.
Wasn't that from the bass gallery?? You must be taking a massive hit on the price?? Quick everyone, take advantage of his madness!!
Behave! nope, this isn't the one from the gallery, that was a walnut topped standard model, & I am taking a bit of a hit on this but something has caught my eye! not thinking of opening your famously clam like wallet are you?!
 24.
Yes thanks, thats the one. Looksa bit more like the real colour in those photos. Cheers, Bob
Used to be mine at one time, it is a fantastic bass & cost me a fair bit more than this, well worth a punt!
 25.
Been there, mate! Good luck with the sale, should fly out the door, something that pretty!
Now definitely up for sale & with a reduced price tag.
