Beautifull bass. I managed to sell my PM4 pretty quickly so I'm amazed this wasnt gone yet.
Have a bump.
Cheers mate, these are really nice basses but it's almost certainly the wrong time to put it up, it's just that I've seen something I really fancy! we'll see, I may pull it if there's no takers & do it the old fashioned way save up instead! -
Cheers mate, it really does look good in the flesh! also thanks to Rich, not tempted? I know you have a thing for the retro look!
Price drop bump. -
bUMP
I've got one & they are stonking, bargain price as well! -
I played on of these at a show, stunning tone, nice full P tone and then you can dial in some MM for a little more "bridgeness". I'm not normally a fan of Surf/Sea Foam Green, but here it just works perfectly. Have a bump.

Have you tried a Shuker? his stuff is pretty reasonably priced & v good.
swift bump! -
I could live without the dots but just like the look of a fretboard with them.
I would love a Sadowsky but this time im going for a completely new tone, trying to get away from the basic P and Jazz tones.
Thats why i looked in to a Sandberg a while ago. Still got the P tone in case it all goes tits up but also a MM tone to help ease me away from the old school.
I played (and almost brought) a Sandberg PM5 in Blackburst a few years ago. Fantastic bass, both in looks and tone but i ended up going for a Lakland 55-01, based on its nicer neck more than anything else.
Im not saying never but i would need to get past the neck thing first.

You know, i could live with the Green but the one thing ive never liked about Sandbergs is the lack of dots on the fretboard.
Call me old fashioned but i like them there. Even better, blocks but ive only seen a few Sandbergs with those. I think they add about £150 to the price so i can understand why not a lot of people go for them.
Im looking to sell or trade my DJ5 as soon as i can and am planing on getting a SR4 but i did consider one of these as well at one point. Best of both worlds IMHO.
Its just the fretboard i have a problem with.
Again, good luck.
Yeah, the block inlays are a bit expensive but I can live without those, this does have side dots otherwise I would be shafted! thought about trying a Sadowsky? they are v expensive but v v nice! -
Lovin that colour combination myself, surf green with rosewood board. Just bougbt a bass last week, otherwise I'd be very interested. Good luck with the sale
Cheers mate, the board on this is really nice which doesn't come out in the pics, nice bit of grain etc. -
If this was Black (or even better, Blackburst) i would have this off you.
Good luck with the sale.
Cheers mate, the colour is an acquired taste but its bound to get whoever buys it noticed! the pics don't really do it justice but these are really nice basses. -
Hi Everyone,
here we have a mint condition Sandberg California PM4 in "surf green" with a Mint pick guard. The body is a P style (feels slightly undersized) cut from alder & the neck is Maple with a rosewood fretboard (slimmer than a standard P, feels much nearer to a jazz). Electronics are: 1 x Delano P-Style 1 x Delano Powerhumbucker, Sandberg 2 Band EQ with passive Tone control, Activ-Passive switchable. Hardware is all chrome Sandberg. Sound wise this bass is really fat/punchy & very versatile, as you would expect it nails the classic P bass sound really well but also produces a great MM/slap type sound. These basses are really well built & condition wise it is as new, there are no marks on it. Further info on the model can be found at:

I'm looking for £749 (inc gig bag) ono & can ship.
Cheers for looking.
Bump
It has now! You could always do it via paypal? Interparcel charge somewhere round the £12-£15 mark fully insured, I've always found them to be really reliable & it may help with the sale. -
Don't really trust sending because of the trouble you had
Ahhh, but the bass got there ok! -
Shame you won't post....
I have packaging you can you use Jack! -
Wow, that is stunning?
Can I interest you in a fretless '62 re-issue Jazz Bass plus cash?
Used to mine & it is every bit as nice as the pics suggest, I only parted with it to get the California PM version, it plays beautifully & there's not a mark on it, Jack is also a top bloke to do business with. -
Excellent, we now have full provenance!
I've got one & it's the only bass I've kept! a great instrument with top build & it sounds absolutely stunning. This is also a very decent price for one of these, well worth a punt! -
Is this still for sale two years on??? I'd be interested.
Go on Rich, I've got one & its stonking, one of the few I haven't turned over, well worth a punt! -
Lets start a family?
NO! It's the initial run before they added the block inlays etc.
It's beautiful, so get over it.
I had a go on this when doing a trade on something else, looks lovely & a also great bit of wood, if I wasn't skint.....! -
I am trying Derrick but I seem to have an addiction! looks like I may have to sell the American Jazz and possibly my Marcus Miller!
I am running out of packing cases!
YOu watch a Fretless Wal or Musicman will appear now! Arrghh!
I know, there's been that really nice looking Wal up recently but I cant run to it without flogging something & I quite like the ones I've got at the mo! if you like the Sandberg JM you should have a rip on the PM's, nice! Good news about the job! -
Blimey, that went fast!! If I could raise £600 that quick I'd have been all over this. Enjoy your new bass Steve!!
Go on Steve, you know it makes sense! I had one of these & they are stonking basses, this is also a decent price. -
Understood and no problem.
A man has to try.
Used to be mine but had to part with it, a truly stunning bass & it cost me a lot more than this is going for, definitely worth a punt! -
Wow! Looks great. Seems a very good price for an Overwater. What are the controls? And how would you describe the neck depth?(ie precision, jazz etc)
This bass used to be mine & I too had to sell it to pay off a Sadowsky credit card bill! It is an absolutely stonking bass, great neck & seriously ballsy sound, every bit as good as the pics & description suggest. Also worth mentioning that Steve is a good bloke to deal with & you'll get a hassle free transaction. -
Me too, on all four counts!!
I too used to own this one, it is a superb bass, (alas too hot for my crap technique which is why I parted with it)! great neck seriously ballsy sound, worth every penny! -
Any pics? I'm just checking if there's any organs I can sell to fund this I would have to sell a couple of bits to make you an offer, so don't hold your breath, but I love my JM4, and I'm jonesing for a P-style bass so this might just fit the bill.
Doh! I Just bought one of these & paid a fair bit more than this for it! V nice bass & a snip at that price, someone will buy this! -
Nah, he must have the only other one that's around!!
Aaahhhh, that & he was right handed! are you taking trades on this? I've 3 x alba's sitting in a cupboard at work that are gathering dust.....
