4. Cheers Mate, I did look at the Bass Centre and didnt see them. Are there any other straps in the Uk that are similar to the Comfort Strapp?
5. Can any one tell me somewhere online I can buy a Comfor Strapp from. Tried to buy from the Gallery today but apparently I cant use my debit card over the phone!!!
6.
Hmm, just a thought I guess. The other option, that I have had to do in the past is to put the tray in upside down and the gear 'hung' from what *was* the base plate. completely secure with afore mentioned cable ties lol!
NOw thats a good idea!!!
7. Hmm, I wonder of there's enough room for air to move?? That may work, I'll have to measure and see how big the gap is. Cheers
8. Cheers Dan, the only problem with a racktray is my amps fan is on the top and over to one side, I would imagine a rack tray would cover it over.
9. Im sure my ears where burning!! Yes I've used a Rumble 100 at a gig once and was REALLY impressed with it. Decent tone with some nice shaping features. The thing I really liked was the volume this little combo put out, the gig was to around 200 people and everything bar the bass was going through the PA, you could really feel it at the back of the room. If I was looking to spend under £400 or £500 on a combo Id buy the Rumble.
10. I've seen the kit for doing it but cant find anywhere that still have them.
11.
I used my repaired pedal last night at a gig, and boy have I missed it. One flick of a switch, and there was my big bottom for all see.............er..................hear.
Russ did you replace the switch with a toggle? Was it easy to do? I've a Punch Factory coming in the week or so and I was thinking fof doing that, as it'd be on all the time so no need for a foot switch.
12. Hard choice, but I'd go for the Marcus. Thats the ONLY bass I've gotten rid of that I really wish Id kept. Superb bass. There really wasnt anything I'd have changed on that bass.
13. Id certainly love another Ray, infact was looking not so long ago, I do think its a lack of money thing rather than MM's are out of fashion.
14. Good stuff mate. We once did a wedding same thing, well apart for the £20.000 worth of gear. Had the dance florr full then the DJ came on stuck on New York, New York and emptied the dance floor. I've never seen a DJ kill the mood so quickly!!! Keep Music Live indeed.
15. Does anyone know if theres a rack mounting kit for the older AKG wireless that Soundc*ntrol where selling off for a £100?? I've done a search on google but all I can find is for the newer model. Cheers
16.
I've just bought my second one because I bought one, loved it so much I went to the rack version (which isnt 'tuned' for bass, so doesnt work as well in a live situation imho) and now have gone back to the pedal version. I use it after the Punch Factory compressor. To explain, I use the punch factory live to control my occassional excesses on live gigs. The Exciter comes next just to add a little sparkle to the top end and a little meat to the bottom. Bearing in mind I play through an SWR750x into either a Schroeder 21012 or a Goliath/Son of Bertha stack, you could say that the exciter isn't strictly necessary. However, I think it adds a little something else to the overall sound. Word of caution though, use both ends of the effect spareingly as it has a huge amount of tone shaping capability.
What did you think where the main differences between pedal and rack mounted version? Im just looking to buy the rack version as I want nothing on the floor, apart from my feet!! Cheers Mike
17. I wouldnt mind but it looks like its been cobbled together with drift wood aswell!!!
18. Just bought 2 weeks ago new from Planet of Sound. After trying it for a few weeks I realised I dont really need it, theres only a couple of songs I'd use it on and could really do with a compressor. Bought for £80 I will sell for £70, 2 weeks old in box with all the instructions and powersupply. Or will trade for rack or pedal compressor. Ideally Aphex Punch Factory. Or the Aphex rack mounted exciter.
19. Thats what I thought, I'd certainly want to know. We always have someone out front during soundcheck, or I'll go out on wireless so we if it sounds ok. They're the second band in as many weeks I've seen that are good bands but ruined by poor FOH. The last one all you could hear was vocals and bass!!!
20. They where controlling the sound themselves. Non of the pubs bars round here provide PA and sound guy...
21. I went to see a few bands last night in the local pubs, ended up at the Stag in Orrell Nr Wigan and there was a band on, I wont mention the name. But the front of house sound was simply the worst I've heard. Everything was through the PA, and the only thing you could hear really was the vocals and drums, everything else was just a much of imense low end. It was so painful to listen to we left and went else where. Heres a question for all you gigging bassists. If you had an aweful front of house sound would you want to know about it?? The crazy thing was they seemed like they'd be a good band, if it wasnt for the sound!!!!
The pedals are just a midi trigger like a mother keyboard, so yes any midi equiptment works with them, I'll try and get the camera out tommorow and put some pictures up.
Just out of curiosity how much would you want for the setup?? PM me if you like.
Do I sense an outbreak of the balancing on one leg Geddy Lee school of bass and keyboard tomfoolery?
Thinking about it!! Basically Im sick of keyboard players being so rare!!! And the ones you find either dont turn up when promised or turn up and do a 'Phoenix Nights' type audition, inc playing the death march to impress us!!!
