2.
Depends what colour you want.
Puce, taupe, manilla and battelship grey for E A D G respectively.
3. I'm sure in my five second dalliance with a jazz bass (I still feel dirty) that it came with the E flatwound and the other three roundwound. As they sounded dead as a dodo I replaced them straight way. Can you get those invisible strings with silk wraps?
4.
Jazzes of course. Jazz necks are perfect and the extra knob makes you look like a musician.
I'm definitely a bass player in a band and not a musician. I'll stick with the Precision. The instrument equivalent of a Ford Transit.
5. Precisions of course. Jazzes necks are too skinny and the extra knob confuses me.
6.
Hello folks. Can any owners of a TE 715 please measure from the outside edge of one of the rubber feet to the outside edge of the opposite rubber foot? I am looking for a width measurement across the front of the amp. I know from the TE site that the 715x is 24.2" across, but I would like to know how far apart the feet are spaced to know whether it will fit on a 23" Gramma Pad. Cheers!
Mines at the rehearsal room. So I can't get to it for a bit. I'd give TE (Peavey) a ring. 01536 424740. Good way to check out their customer friendliness.
7.
Is it really that good? I've never heard it. I love Dark Side and I adore dub, but is it for real? Is it truly mustard?
At first you're blown away just by the concept and that it's well done. Sounds a bit too 'clean' to me after a few listens. Not bad though. Worth a spin. I prefer the OK Computer one 'Radiodread'
8. Faults in performance. Generation X - Live in Paris LP. It's all a mistake. Timing, intros, out of tune. King Rocker is played particularly badly. I can't believe it was actually released. Possibly a good night out if you were there and had no ears though.
9. I'll give you mine in the JB tonight.
10. White Music and Go 2 - XTC I like Colin Moulding's bass on these a lot. Pity he's given up on music completely.
11.
It puts me in mind of a '70s West Germany football kit.
Like this
12.
I think you will find it was the NAFF thread
You're correct. Senior moment.
13. The Brown stripy Wal on the [s]BILF[/s] NAFF thread got me thinking. I'm still miffed that of all the Precisions I tried when I was on my buying tour the best one to play was in boring old sunburst. So I bought it. I really like competition stripes and when funds allow/financial madness descends again will be going for a solid colour precision so I can add some stripeage. Look how much faster and sexier the one on the left looks for example. Any go-faster basses out there?
14.
I actually like that Wal.
So do I! Competition stripes are the very thing. I like the 70s porn colours too. Much more interesting than a bit of ronsealed timber.
15. Bought a Diago PSU from him. All very easy. No worries at all. Ta.
16. Got a Bass Big Muff from him. Very quick, well packed, very easy deal. Even had a battery in it. All tickety boo. Ta.
17. Just caught this thread. Really sad news. 18 is no age at all.
18. The Crying Game
19.
Blasphemy
I like that! Go great with a cardigan.
20. I'm shocked a Highoverlorddedoodah can't afford an acrylic jumper that fits.
21. I've got a 'Starforce' bass that's got star markers (double Saturns at the 12th). They're an 80s Korean range. My mate's got a Kahler trem super strat with active pickups done by them too that he loves. Very Metal
22. I used an Ashdown EB180 12incher and never had it up past 4/10 with a noisy drummer plus two guitarists. It did turn into a smoke machine that smelt like Scalectrix after three years but it was great while it lasted.
23. Mmmm.. Chocolate...
24. My thumpers are loose.
25. I reckon that'll look fantastic. I think a slimmed down Grabber is an inspired idea. What's the headstock going to look like?
