1. I take it all back. We are now a 3 piece. Make that a glorious 3 piece workers commune with a 5 year plan.
2. I just got the re-issue of Jesus of Cool. It's fan bleedin tastic. He's a Brentford resident too. My mate Pete fixes his boiler. Err the central heating unit that is.
3. Fat Gumbo Dupree. All the way from the Middlesex Delta.
4. 3 from Saturday. I'm going for the middle aged bohemian punk look.
5. Played the Half Moon on Saturday to a smallish turnout who made up for it by clearly enjoying themselves and us. X Factor , BBQ's, holidays (and Brentford away to Southampton) all made this a hard one to get our normal (100+) crowd. We didn't have time to dwell on a bit of band tension we've got going with a member whose last gig it probably was as the PA was dead until 10 minutes before the support were on. The sound out front was OK apparently although it sounded like ear soup through the monitors. Still it's a great place to play and they've even got new non sticky carpet in. Put on a show and enjoyed which is the main thing. We got the usual drunken bird calling out for covers. "Do the Rolling Stones. Do Handbags & Gladrags"
6.
JJ Burnel
Snap
7. Who slapped John? How did I forget Gene Vincent?
8. Can I make a case for Link Wray? Especially 'Rumble'
9. I love shops with second hand gear too. I would be much more likely to visit than a shop full of new stuff. New stuff is liable to get me straight on the net looking for the best price. That's not so great for a smaller independent I'd guess. Good luck with the new venture.
10. Sell it and use the cash to buy some Judas Priest vinyl to play backwards.
11.
Glad to see there is some love for them. To be fair, I dont know how anyone can worry about volume with a 4x10...ever. Unless its a stadium.
It's a 1x15. That was the output level set at 3 or 4 out of 10. A 4x10 cab is on the GAS list now you mention it though.
12. My new series 715x combo is luvverly. Sounds wonderful set flat with the pre shape on. Easily competes with 2 loud guitarists with the volume at 3-4/10. It is a touch heavy though. The guitarists actually asked me to turn it up at the last rehearsal as they like the sound now!

We're back at our regular haunt. "The Half Moon's favourite Classic Rock band" There words not ours. £6 on the door. Support from the excellent Trick Noise Makers Double set and the smoke machine and lasers are fully functioning
14. I really like the fake Rick in white.
15. You'll have to throw personalised fingers into the crowd then.....
16. Basses A black Precision with maple board. A white single pickup Thunderbird A 4003 in jetglo. Not bothered if they're 'vintage' Amps Trace AH1200 12 with a matching 4x10 and 1x15 The Marshall Lemmy head with 2 4x12's A waterproofed Trace combo I could rest my pint on without worrying.
17. Can I just say I was talking complete load of old wallop. One of us has turned out to like democracy about as much as Qadaffi does. Just before a big gig too. It's going to be fun playing that one! 3 piece and recruiting from September............
18.
What's a bango?
E A D mostly if you played one in my band.
19. Anyway the real answer is obviously Overend Watts. Best boots ever
20. He's definitely the best bass player in the RHCP. Seriously. How do you quantify who's best? Bassists don't get points and play each other over a season.
21. My first few gigs were done with a 70s WEM Westminster 15w 1x12 combo. It was louder than it sounds.
22. I play more or less straight up plectrum style rock/pop with the band and my precision suits this well with both looks and sound. I do like being perverse though at times and think it would be a laugh to play something that looked all wrong. Maybe a Tokai Talbo, headless Status or something? Anybody play anything that shouldn't work but does?
23. <<<<Secret typing that Mrs LEB can't read>>>> How much for the 2x10?
24. There we go 1977. Whippet thin and 13!
25. I had that very same model in 1977 replacing my Avon SG! I then part exed it for a new Shergold Marathon. I think I heard somewhere that they were more or less exclusive to Macari's around 73/75? I will post a period pic of me with my old one tonight.
