I see your A-C and raise you the Lodestone.

Well played with a straight bat sir. -

I agree about the headstock but that brass inlay looks a bit special. I tried inlaying with resin bonded "gold" metallic dust once. Never again.

Never a good idea....

Do you need 2 guitarists? Try with the one for a bit. You might find the dynamics get better.
Then you can get a synth player with a cape. -
Now I've got a bass from this lot myself and it's really good. But I have to say these gumby looking things on the end of the necks aren't pretty. Especially as a 5er
-
Euro millions ticket purchased.
This will look lovely in the East wing. -
I stood in for a couple of numbers with a 'bar band' in Washington State a few years ago. **** me those guys could play, The musicianship standard is very, very high for all the US bar bands I've seen.
No pressure Blue -
I know they look and play great and all....but you can kayak with the neck.
Looks better in the photo than reality too

It just didn`t seem to have the same sheer "oomph" as the regular Sansamp MK1 Bass Driver - pretty much my experience with the MK2 Bass Driver as well. Noting wrong mind, just preference. The Para Driver sounds like the MK1 Bass Driver but with sweepable adjustable mids. Poifect
I kind of know what you mean Lozz. My programmable Sansamp sounded better to my ears even without any mid control. I persisted with the Fly and now I'm happy with what comes out of it. It is probably a bit less warm to my ears but a bit more defined? Anyway. I'm enjoying the luxury of having both. I will keep the old faithful for recording as I know it does exactly what I want in the studio. -

C'mon... I've waited years to see a blue movie.

Me too. I'm not sure about the bear content though... -

Well I'll be damned.

Never noticed that one before.
Mind you, [Pedant] it is 10W rather than 15W [/Pedant]!
It was the 15W I had. Not technically a bass amp I guess. But it was sold as suitable for guitar, bass or organ as it had a 'heavy duty speaker'. -

Plywood (?) Commodore P copy > White coily cable > AVS 100w PA amp > Chipboard 2x12 loaded with Goodmans Audiom 12PGs

There's an ironic hipster somewhere salivating at that setup. -
Now everybody's got nice portable reliable gear. Cast your mind back to the first time you gigged with your own bass and backline...
1979
Black Shergold Marathon
Rotosound strings
Gibson Heavy triangular picks
Green leather strap
Generic crackly black lead
WEM Westminster 15 watt bass combo
pitch pipes for tuning
The WEM only lasted one gig and was replaced by an HH VS100 head mixed with a 1x18 cab - Woof. -
Had a proper go with it last night in a band mix. Went DI through the PA.
Sounds great. Sansamp is as you would expect. The compressor really surprised nme at how good it was. The chorus was, well, chorusy. Not something I'd use anyway. The tuner mute function is spot on. The mental filter section will get some use. Great fun and very useable wild sounds.
I got a regulated power supply which was well worth it as the supplied one is a bit buzzy.
Nice to turn up with just a gig bag. -

At 13 I decided I wanted to be in a band. I'd just come back from a shopping trip to Harlequin Records with Rattus Norvegicus and there was only one choice as to what instrument I was going to play.
-
I'm using my Warwick RB Starbass in preference to my P Bass these days.
I'm liking the ease of playing and it looks pretty cool too.
The blue strings are long gone though. -
Strats and possibly a PRS. Are you the Shadows of Santana? It should be you telling them what to play.
-
Out of interest. What's the guitarist/s using?
My earlier reply was a bit flippant. I do actually get the colour thing. -
Progressive band requires traditional bass. Fancy that.
The Yamaha Attitude looks very 'Fendery' anyway. The punters won't care. Just get Roger Dean to paint your scratchplate or something. -
Alternative = Less Popular Version Of
Cinematic Rock = Best enjoyed with a Westlers hot dog and a Kia Ora -
Just a bit. I'm up and down the A1M to South Lincs a lot so wondered if it was on my way.

Sometimes they look good in photos, but in your hands they look naff.
Supposedly Clive Brown is the best in the business, but I've never seen a Clive Brown in the flesh.

Clive is 30 but he looks 65. He's that good.
TC electronic heads... Persuade me!

I've had a TC 450 Classic for 5 years now. Never missed a beat. Sits well in the mix and suits my playing. I'm not over fussy about getting a pefect 'tone'. I like a less than hi-fi rough arsed bass sound and it doesn't take much fiddling to get what I want. I can't think of any reason to replace it. It's very loud, it DI's well, it's portable and reliable. The spectracomp is a lot better than the dual band jobbie pedal I used to use before too.
The cabs are the best bit of the deal though. I've got an RS210 and RS112. I've tried other heads through them (Mark Bass. Orange, Gallien Kruger, etc.) and they always sounded the part. Just the 1x12 is fine for rehearsals with a noisy drummer.
Conversely I've stuck the head through a Barefaced Compact and a Hartke 4x10 and it sounded really horrible. I'm guessing cab choice is important.
