1.
When you need a P, there's no point in fighting it ...
Not at our age...
2.
May well have to make the trip Ad.......
That'd be great Lozz. Free badges for all on the way in too!
3.
... It'll have to be Keith Emerson, then.
It's so difficult to find a house trained one too.
4.
Ad, you don't need a keyboard player! You just need lots more bass gear!
Nooo. I just bought a new amp and another curly lead and it wasn't the answer...
5. Band consensus is we'd like a freshen up and maybe be a bit more ambitious musically (but not neccessarily technically!) and have someone new on board. Not going all prog but someone who can flesh out our new wave power pop punk and add some quirks and a twist. About a dozen or so gigs and a new EP every year plus the odd video. We rehearse most Thursdays in Hampton. Would suit a Roxy Brian Eno more than a Rick Wakeman. We'd like somebody to be involved in the writing and recording process. It would probably suit a bass player who dabbles as a side project too. There's enough stuff on the site www.thejetsonics.com to give an idea of where we're coming from. PM me now!
6. Looking forward to this one.
7. Basingstoke. Full of scruffy young people. Half a dozen came up to compliment my 'awesome' bass tone. Who [s]crew [/s]cares how the rest of the gig went?
8. Should be an experience. We'll look like everyone's dads! 9. Thanks all.Already planning the next one. Will have acting, dancing girls and a 3 figure budget!
10. £37, 3 hours in a cold room and a lot of editing.
11.
Is the Deeside Inn free admission?
No. The people of Ballater will have to dig their hands in their sporrans. Dublin Castle gig cancelled by the venue ! Now looking for a replacement.
12. Have a good one Mr C. I'm on the way to Belgium otherwise I'd be there.
13. A few more tbc too.
14. Back from our tour of Scotland for our last show of 2013
15. It's the highlight of the show when we share the bill with a band named Mr Bridger. Guitar abuse is an art form in the hand of their guitarist. Split a strat in two on the venue floor last time. The drummer patches them up between shows "Couple of clamps and some wood glue and it'll be fine".
16. Great experience. Nice to meet Neepheid/Matt. You know you've made it when you're in the Donside Piper... 17. This is going to be very interesting.....
18. Black every time.
19. Just back in town. We lost a few to a rival gig in Putney and roadworks in TW8 (I was stuck on the way traveling the first two miles in 55 minutes!). More drifted in as the night went on though. The Cottonettes are a lovely compact punky trio with some hooky songs. I really like these boys. I loved every minute of the Tuesday Club. Very chunky, tight sound and a really eye catching theatrical presentation. Great songs that minded me a bit of Sparks and Roxy. A really impressive set. Lozzes tasteful P bass playing sat perfectly in the mix and sounded great. This was of course due to my TC rig The male singer needs locking up in a padded cell for his own good though! We blitzed through and played a couple of new ones. I'm getting more used to the Eastwood bass and it feels very natural to play now. Love to play with the Tuesday Club again.
20. Indeed it would be nice to see a few BCers. I seem to be recovered enough from a sober trip over the cat all the way downstairs 2 weeks ago to play as well.
21. No change. Credit card getting twitchy...
I quite badly want one of these. Shame I'm skint at the moment.
22. Home fixture. Nice. Have a good one.
23. I've only has a go one briefly and it was a nice player. Visually the semis like BRX's are nice but the ones that look like they've got fair trade marital aids stuck on would look very out of place with the 1-2-3-4 ethic of my band. That almost makes me want one.
