Funny you say that, recently bought an afterschool club for children. Also a qualified strength and conditioning coach, so i combine all 3 and do obstacle courses for the kids

Did an apprenticeship to be an electrical maintenance technician. Went on to maintenance planning engineer for a big factory, a job which i still do now. Said factory is about to close though. At which time i will start doing my "other job" as my main job. I train dogs. More specifically, dog agility. Anyone watch Crufts? Few people i train were there competing. I love it.

What's the best class D bass amp head you've used?
FuNkShUi replied to thebassist's topic in Amps and Cabs
I should also state that i play in a motown/funk / soul band. So the warm and vintage sound is what i aim for. I dont know how these amps would stand up against the others for a different type of sound. -

I dont ever use the EQ. Just the filters. So cant comment on that. But the filters allow me to adjust tonthe room very quickly. Cant fault them -

Tried a fair few over the years. Mark bass LM2 Puma 900 GK MB800 TC Electronic RH 750 Ashdown Superfly 500 Aguilar TH500 Genz Benz shuttle 12 Genz Benz shuttle 6.2 Peavey minimax 500 Genz Streamliner 900 Also been through a lot of other Class heads too. Probably over the course of about 7 or 8 years. Trying to find the sound i had in my head. I got my last amp about 5 years ago and haven't switched since. Markbass LM2. I know!!! But i didn't know that's what i wanted until i realised i didn't want the other ones. That's what i'm telling myself anyway! I just find it really simple to use. adjust the VPL and/or VPF to suit. It was an absolute bargain at 250 schmackers with a case. Its extremely reliable. Never let me down and generally play about 40 or 50 weddings a year. Extremely lightweight. Whats not to love? Special mention for the Puma too though, as i did really like that amp. Very similar in that it had a "taste" knob instead of the two filters -

Recently bought this from Grant on here. I really wanted to love it, because its size would mean less shoulder pain on the heavier weekends of gigging i have. But after trying to get my head (and hands ) around it for 4 days, i am not gelling with it. "Why not take more time to get used to it". I just don't have that luxury tbh. I need a bass i can potentially gig with straight away, and this one will take me too long to be "gig ready". So this is your chance to own a custom made bass guitar from one of UKs top luthiers. The ACG is a 26.5" scale bass, with standard tuning. Unbelievable work from Alan at ACG. The work is absolutely top notch. Which is another reason i wanted to give this a try. I know the standards of Alans work. The ACG pre amp filter on board gives you all the tonal variety you could possibly need. And it has a passive/active switch too. At £1250 this is a massive saving on buying one brand new. And it is in A1 condition. Here is the exact spec: Top Wood: Fractal Walnut Body Wood: White Limba Body Finish: Satin Lacquer Neck Wood: 5 piece Maple/Mahogany Finger Board: Wenge Scale: 26.5″ Neck Finish: Satin Lacquer Pickups: ACG RFB humbucker Hardware: Hipshot Type B Bridge 17mm spacing Gotoh GB350 Resolite tuners Dunlop Dual Design Straplocks Custom Newtone strings Pre-amp: ACG/East P-Retro with Active/Passive Trials are welcome. I can send it via courier, but its at the buyers expense and risk. Any questions, give me a shout Pictures are from Grants post, but its obviously in the exact same condition

Would now look at combos and cash adjustments my way. Top quality bass cabinet from Bergantino. If you want the official spec and spiel, its here: Bergantino Audio Systems HD Series HD212 Speaker Cabinet For Bergantino Audio it all starts with the High-Definition HD series of bass guitar speaker cabinets. The cabinetry on the HD series employ a precision tuned cabinet architecture and the enclosures are built with the finest 100% Baltic birch plywood available. The HD series are covered in traditional tolex for durability (no more carpet fuzz for your cat to claw) and they all employ a rigid black grille to protect the drivers. The internal components used are extremely high quality and they are of Bergantino design. No ‘off-the-shelf’ parts are used. Woofers have ceramic magnets w/ vented pole pieces and the low-end on this series of cabinets is full and round – they can handle high power output from your amplifier. The HD series have remained a favorite of finger style and pick players because of the tight-creamy low end found with these cabinets. Each of the HD series cabinets has a high intelligibility tweeter mated to the woofers through a custom designed phase-coherent crossover with a tweeter control. Bergantino HD series cabinets are not as heavy as some of the other cabinets available, but will produce a more accurate, full-bodied and authentic representation of your bass guitar in live and studio settings. Woofers: 2-12” Ceramic Magnet Woofers w/ Vented Pole Pieces Tweeter: High Intelligibility HD Series Tweeter Cabinet Design: Ported Cabinet Material: Baltic Birch Plywood Cabinet Covering: Black Tolex Impedance: 4-ohms Power Handling: 700W RMS Crossover: Custom Phase-Coherent Crossover w/ Tweeter Control Frequency Response: 40hZ – 15KhZ Sensitivity: 104db @ 2.83v / 1-meter Dimensions: 31”H x 18-1/2”W x 15”D Weight: 79 Lbs. ProNet Price: $1089.00 It's in great condition as its been protected by the cover. One of the corners has got marks, which i've included in the photos. Sounds immense in a band setting. Can be couriered at your cost. Will be well packaged. Ideally would prefer a trade for something smaller and lighter with a cash adjustment my way. Trials welcomed. Any other questions give me a shout.

How often does your band rehearse?
FuNkShUi replied to davegriffiths91's topic in General Discussion
Yeh we have started doing the same. It ended up like we were only rehearsing to learn 1 song we would never play again. -

If we are in a busy period (April - September) when we are gigging most weeks, we very rarely practice. In the quieter periods we will usually do two a month at a push. I think its been mentioned above, but the key is when everyone agrees to learn a song, post the version of the song you intend to learn in the forum of communicating you use (FB, whats app , slack etc), then you have to learn it. Its really that simple. It is for us anyway. Guess it means relying on everyone in the band pulling their weight and having trust in each others musical abilities. -

This is a Fender precision USA Highway One Made in 2008. Thanks for the info on that Karl. It's in great condition as you can see from the photos. Couple of light blemishes, but really nothing too bad at all. Sounds exactly like you'd expect a P bass to sound! Currently strung with flats. Comes with spare torte pick guard, that I quite like too. Apparently these are meant to come with a different bridge. I don't have the original, only this one. Neck is pretty slim. Definitely not like a baseball bat. Happy for you to come try it out. Can courier, but at the risk of the buyer! Any questions, give me a shout.
