1. About time you posted another build! You've been slacking
2. We starting at 1 or 2? I will have to be leaving by 3 either way as we are gigging, but first post has suggested time of 1-5 Then underneath "Time wise I suggest starting around 2pm and going on to around 6pm."
3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUpGfj9ZJMA Like that. There's a couple of pedals that's involved too. Envelope filter and distortion i think..? I had this set up for a bit. Good Fun!!
4. Yes there is a one off charge, or a yearly fee.
5. I've had a 4 string thumb. Really loved the sound. I would guess it would be perfect for the genre you're going for. I found it uncomfortable to play though. Not sure why, but it gave me problems in my shoulder on my fretting hand. I actually play with a Streamer now, and that is absolutely fine, no pains at all. So might just have been a one off. The $$ is a brilliant bass too. Super punchy. Biggest output on a bass i've ever played. The one i bought was advertised as " a bit beat up" . It was battered. Drive a lorry under the strings the action was so high. But it was my first Warwick, and converted me. I cant speak for the Stingrays, but definitely check out a few Warwicks
6.
Wow, quietest 6 piece ever? Si
We aren't heavy rock admittedly, but as a 6 piece disco/funk we aren't really quiet either. I must say that it's probably on the limit of what a single cab can do, but 1 cab really is enough for me. YMMV and all that. They are good cabs. Stick a good amp on top and you're onto a winner!
7.
How do you find the 1126s now you've lived/gigged with them a little? I'm considering them Do you use them without PA support at all? Si
Cant speak for the 1126s, but i play in a 6 piece function band and i use a single TKS S112, without PA support for the majority of the time. I do have a second cabinet, but more often than not i don't feel i need it. I would guess 2 X 1126s is more than enough for most gigs until we start talking stadiums and the like
8. That's a wicked story! Congrats on the offer of playing with him again in the future, you obviously did something right!! Nice one
9.
Easily one of the best rigs I've had and yet it's up for sale in the classifieds.. Damn Basschat! Alpher Mako GK 700Rb-II 2 X GK Neos
Why's it up then Jay? Love that Alpher too
10. OoOooOOoooOO bet that moves some air. Good life choices that man
11. Reminded me of Billy Talent. Nice
12. The overhang of the Mesa would be too much for my OCD!! Decision made haha In all seriousness, both are top quality brands with no shortage of happy users. Im guessing it all comes down to personal preference. At the minute you say you prefer the Vanderkleys, for whatever reason that might be, so give the One10s another couple of gigs before your months trial is up, and see if they can change your mind. Not losing anything. And sometimes what you say you prefer is only actually what your used to. Another few gigs, getting more used to the EQ settings and voicing of the BF cabs and the One10s could have you drooling
13. I had a Peavey ipr 1600 with a Marcus Miller Pre. Playing through Bergantino HD112s. Looking back, it was probably the best sound I've ever had.
14.
Congratulations on a great-looking bass. I am really feeling the love for my own Limelight at the moment! It was sold to me as a ’63 replica but I think the neck profile is more like a ’59 as it’s quite big & chunky. It’s now got brass saddles and has had chrome bridge/pickup covers added. It’s also currently strung with LaBella flats and sounds nothing short of monstrous (in a smooth kind of way). It's a proper Motown machine!!!
Nice!. I was close to getting an all black precision. Went for purple just to mix it up a bit I thought i'd use it with tone rolled fully on, or fully off. But i like a mix of both, which i was quite surprised at!! Is yours a J profile neck? If so, do you know what it measures at the nut?
15. Sound of the cab is for your own personal pleasure. Didnt you know?
16.
It's amazing the number of people who aren't able to correctly tell you what key something is in anyway.
Agreed. Equally painful when they don't tell you if its major or minor
17. I would guess that 95% of the general public do not give a hoot if the band playing have stands or not. As long as they're a good band and they can hear the singer. Same goes for bass tone, and equipment used etc. I think some make far too big a deal of issues that in general aren't noticed by the people we are mostly playing for. For the record i don't use a music stand, but don't care if someone does
18.
Sprague Pacer 0.1uF cap cuts more treble (i.e. makes it 'darker') when you roll off the tone control on a passive P. John fitted new CTS pots, Switchcraft Jack and vintage wiring as well because the volume pot had seen better days and I thought while I'm on, I may as well get the lot replaced, thus negating any worries regarding reliability and so on. At least for a good while, anyway.
I thought it was a reliability thing. Good to get confirmation though. The sprague cap mod sounds interesting. Something i will definitely look at. Where or how do you connect it?
19.
Thanks Karl. Your Road Worn has had the KiOgon treatment and sports an orange Sprague Pacer cap. Lush and velvety! Can also do Thundery!
Little off topic, what does the Sprague pacer cap do? The Kiogon treatment you mean a new wiring harness yes? Again, what does this do? I am genuinely interested too, not trying to start anything
20.

Blast from the past!! Was this the drink that you pushed through the "tab" at the top rather than have a ring pull? Also, anyone remember the Hubba Bubba cans of pop?
