Schnozalee - i often see custom builds in the for sale section, that probably cost a few thousand to build, but because they aren't known brands they end up being sold on for dirt cheap. Warwicks aren't popular at the minute. Some of the prices i've seen some German made ones go for are ridiculous.

We had a budget when we were looking to buy, and asked for advice from a sound engineer friend. He recommended these to us, as tops, as a good buy for the price. He had used them like this before and was impressed. Must say, they have been excellent for us.

£200 - £250 is the standard pub gig rate down South Wales area. Some places will try to pay less. Usually those gigs go to acoustic duos. We are lucky to be able to charge a little more as we are a 6 piece and don't often play pubs (maybe 10 a year), but £300 is pretty much tops. Standard set will be 2 X 1 hours

Not sure why it annoys people on here so much to be honest. Why does it matter to you? Does it negatively effect your life? Do all the other fake and knock off items in the world equally bother you? If you want a bass that says something on the headstock go for it. No difference to me

I'd say alot of bands start out with this misguided enthusiasm. Just some of those turn out to be The Rolling Stones etc. Confidence and enthusiasm ARE important for successful bands. And everyone gotta start somewhere
