1. We just get a lead to plug our phone/ipad/ipod into a normal input. Does the job just fine. I agree about all the FX on there. Sooo many. Would cost a fortune to buy the separate FX racks and cables etc
2. A Markbass LM head with a Sansamp BDDI might be worth looking at. Loved that setup when i had it. MarkBass heads go for relatively cheap on here 2nd hand, so would give you a decent budget for a cab then too. You ever down South Wales? Ive got a few bits and pieces you'd be welcome to try
3. I've got to agree with Happy Jack. Most of the amps you can get now are very versatile. The Orange isn't. At all. Have you tried one yourself? As HJ says, there's nothing wrong with them if you do like what they offer. Got a budget in mind? Any other specifications you require? Otherwise, have you tried the Puma? MarkBass? Aguilar ToneHammer? Gallien Krueger MB series? What about the EBS TD650? Mesa Subway? Demeter Minnie 800? Tech 21 VT500? Darkglass Microtubes 700? There are loads of choices out there.
4. There are some ridiculous comments on threads like these You may not be into the type of stuff he plays, he's undoubtedly talented though!! Multi instrumentalist and vocalist to an extremely high standard. Nothing but respect
5. I was also going to mention, we have had other bits of Behringer kit with no problems. So we have either been really lucky or their quality control is a lot better than it used to be?
6. Ive been using it for best part of 20 gigs. Never had an issue. Brilliant bit of kit. Not to say the other digital mixers aren't good, i just haven't tried them. But the Behringer has been excellent for us. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about them
7. I play pick when needed, probably 2 songs in our set. 1 song we pay calls for slap. The rest is fingers. I feel i can play with better dynamics when using my fingers too, so that's a bonus
8. I could possibly do the Saturday 25th, at a push, maybe.... July is 100% better for me though. Obviously if that's not the case for the rest, I'll just do my best to get there whenever you hold it.
9. Yup, if Marc hadn't sold it for as cheap as he did, i would be selling it for more. I am not the type to try and make money off here though. Thanks WoT
10. I have the ipad next to me. All the channel volumes are immediately accessed via a slider, and with one button press you can get into every channels EQ, or effects, or level through the monitor. It's pretty immediate. It did take me a good few hours of tinkering to know where to go to get to certain things, but its fine now. I'd compare it to getting to know how to work your new phone. Little tricky to navigate at first, but once you have it, it's like second nature. All our inputs are colour coded too. Green for drums, pink for BVs , blue for instruments etc. But i like Mr Sunburts idea of colour coding every lead to make setups even quicker
11. Flatwound chromes. The sound samples i've used were from the "basschat noodle bar", and as such, not much thought was put into the EQ'ing of it. I can record it in the mix of a song if that would be more useful to anyone
12. £1000+ bass, for sale for £550 £500 off a virtually new bass In perfect condition, it plays and sounds fantastic. Lots of interest, but nothing firm yet. I really am amazed it's still here!
13. No problem with that Nic. Have you started a new thread for it?
14. Start the thread then boys . . .
15. Yup, definitely something on the horizon. Should we see how many potential numbers we would get? Can decide on the size of venue we would need then? I'm thinking the Motorpoint Arena should cut it...
16. PMs Replied I'm happy to use buyers choice of courier. It will be packaged with or without the neck attached (up to you), inside its soft case, surrounded by bubblewrap and newspaper, all inside a thick cardboard box
17. I had a Sandberg VM4. Really impressed with the build quality, especially for the price. Easily equatable to Fenders i've played. Sound wise, i found it cut through the mix really well. Really beefy tone to it. I sold it because i preferred my Warwick Streamer and i found the neck too deep for my preference. Great bass though
18. Looking confident is half the battle, even if you're not. If you can have the set list in advance, maybe just right the key centers of each song next to them, so if you do get lost you can hopefully find your way back with a quick glance at it. Good luck!! Let us know how you get off
19. Ha!! Love a tumbleweed. I don't usually comment, as i feel people might not care about my random thoughts and associations their noodles inspire in me, but i enjoy listening to all the noodles. For what it's worth though.... Rob, yours reminded me of a western themed nursery rhyme. I liked the way it picks up in tempo. Moollon bass sounding great too. Cool noodle See, told you my thoughts would make no sense!
20. Enjoyed that. Cheers for posting. Harmonies on point
21. Yeh, living in Bridgend. You ever down these parts playing?
22. There's a few others on here from South Wales too. You playing in a band?
23. Voted for my three. Would love to get involved too, but i just don't have the time to spare. Great work from the entrants though!
