1. Marc, we got our Keys player by reaching out to registered Keyboard/Piano tutors. It just so turned out the Tutor himself was interested. But they will certainly have the contacts of people who might be. Good luck
2. Yeh i think it's just that some people have other jobs which prevents them from gigging three times a week. I would love it if i could make music my full time living, and have enough to fund my family. As it stands, i cant, so i dont. Once a week is about what we aim for. Keeps it fresh and enjoyable for us then. I totally get what you're saying though Blue. It's your main source of income (from what i gather), so you need it to be regular
3. Yeh, i just use a single 12 now. I do think a lot of people feel they need to be louder than they necessarily do. "they loved the sound and felt that the balance within the band was now perfect" That's their way of telling you that you were too loud before I'm not 100% sure on the effects of lifting the combo, as it can make it perform less desirably (there are threads on here where people with far more expertise talk about this) But the tilting back thing is said to be a good idea! Couple of good options on Thomann. I've not used it, but something like this: http://www.thomann.de/gb/standback_ampstand.htm ?
4. Ive not used the 1126, so couldnt comment on that. Could only imagine it being louder than what i use though. I have 2 X S112s. I play in a 6 piece function style band. So a fair bit of volume, although not excessive. I have a 500W Class D amp, and only ever need to use one cab. With two, you do get that feeling of "if i want to, i will blow you all out of the water" though, which is always nice I think the 1126 on its own will be fine, but i suppose it depends how light you play etc
5. Why not just forego all the music stuff, stick a bar in there, job done ?
6.
A fully functional KISS pinball machine which I gave FREE to an ex when I finished with her also many years ago to assuage my misplaced guilt. It used to play Rock & Roll All Nite when you scored enough points. Really missed that one.
See, that's what the studio is missing!!
7. Back up for sale type BUMP Used this for the last 2 practices ive had and it is sounding as lovely as always and hasn't skipped a beat
8.
Whose right hand ? Anyone you know ?
beat me to it
I've got an A4 ish sized photograph ( not a print) of all 4 Beatles on the ferry in front of the liver buildings, the back is signed by all for with love to my mum Which is nice.......
Probably my favourite so far That badge is pretty cool though Nick!!
9. Same as what Lozz says really. You will more than likely be fine, but if something starts sounding strange, back it off.
10. If you enjoyed, and it made you feel good - It was good As Dad says, rock on
11. Looks beautiful! I'm sure it plays just as well. Congratulations
12. I'm with you in as much as it's not the music i usually listen to. But i love Adele. Every one of her albums has been brilliant. I can listen straight through without skipping any songs. I just thing the songs are brilliant, her voice is superb, and as you said, the production is spot on.
13.
funny thing memorabilia, a lot of it's not worth anything, just gives you a warm glow knowing you've got it, one guy I used to go to a lot of Punk gigs with used to write the name of the band we'd seen on the wooden chip fork he got when we stopped chips on the way home, he's till got them!
I totally agree. My ticket for the Nirvana gig is probably not worth half what it originally cost, but means to much to me to sell it anyway. Love that wooden chip fork thing. Thats a great idea
14. No one elses opinion matters on whether it's a solo instrument or not. If you want it to be , it is. Simple as that really. I wrote only solo stuff for about a year. If you enjoy writing solo arrangments for the bass, do that.
15.
Buzzcocks set list from the early eighties,
That's a good un!
16. A recent thread i posted in got me thinking about this. Do you have any? I have two things i would consider to be memorabilia. I have the ticket that would have been used for Nirvana's next scheduled show, had Kurt Cobain not died. I also have a negative, of a photo of Bob Marley. What do you have?
