1.
Have you checked the internal fuse? I managed to find this photo off the web and added an arrow showing the location. Fingers crossed
I haven't, but I'll be doing that tonight! Nice one for the headsup! Thanks Nic, I'll give him a buzz if it isn't the internal fuse. Cheers everyone.
2.
Have you considered adoption?
Plenty of times. He is a human wrecking ball haha. I bought it second hand off here so no receipt unfortunately
3. I agree. If I didn't already have one I'd be all over this like a seagull on a bag of chips
4. So,long story short, my boy switched my amps power supply to 115 from 230 whilst it was on and I was out the room. It's a Tecamp Puma 900. I have changed both fuses on the input, but it still doesn't work . Sad face. So something on the board has blown. Is it worth sending it back to Tecamp to repair? Or will they tell me it needs a whole new board and as such isn't worth repairing? I would have emailed and asked them, but there is no email contact that I can see on their site. So, what do you all think?
5. It should be ok. I have a sansamp, but will have to rely on our vocal monitor for onstage monitoring. Not ideal, but best of a bd situation
6. Yeh I've changed both fuses in the back of the amp. No joy Guessing it's the board Thanks for the offer but I'm a bit far away. Appreciate it though
7. Gotta make this brief as time is a factor... Got a gig tonight. Set up my bass and amp to check the signal chain as it as hissing last night. Found the problem. Left it on as I went to the toilet. Came bcd , my one year old is playing with the 230/115v selector switch......feck I've swapped a new fuse in, but no luck. I there anything else I could potentially look at? Or has the board definitely gone? It's a puma 900 . Bloody kids
8.
Boy am I glad I finally opened this thread anyway. That was fantastic! Thanks for posting.
Good things come to those who wait
That really was brilliant!
I agree. I still watch it!
9. Yeh, I've only dipped my toe into this style. But its very clever, as you said. I've seen one quartet where there was no drummer, and the bassist was kind of the percussionist too. Very impressive.
10. One which id suggest is Johnny B Goode. It can be played in a relatively easy way. Always goes down well when we play it. One chord pattern repeated through the whole song so there aren't many "parts" to remember. I think you should use a music stand if you need to, but if you have a good bit of time to practice, i doubt you'll need one.
11. Nice. Has to be a bargain at £88 as long as it works surely?! Edit to say ive always found Behringer stuff i've had great kit. Especially the newer stuff
12. Behringer has always seemed to take a little flak on here. Ive not used much of it, but recently bought a new Behringer digital mixer and power amp and both have been brilliant.
13.
The luthier made it...don't know how...few pick player use the little finger as rest under the g string.
So is the wear on the bass "relic'd" rather than from years of use? Only because you say the luthier made it? Its a lovely bass either way, i was just wondering
14. I am just looking to get some lights for our band too. I have no idea where to start. . . . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320-10mm-LED-RGB-DJ-WASH-BAR-LIGHT-DMX512-EFFECTS-/231687582233?hash=item35f1a7f219#ht_25wt_1399 Something like that? To face back at the band? Then some spots to face outwards? I've been in plenty of bands before with lights, but paid absolutely no attention to them what so ever. I really have no clue, so all help is appreciated. Can start my own thread if needed?
15. Did you get them from Thomann Lozz?
16. I played in a metal/heavy rock band for a bit. I was the same as Rob. Kept my sound relatively clean. Otherwise it was just all distortion. To messy for my taste. But as people have said, a good pedal should do the trick. Unless you want to go for valves....
17. I'm starting to use my Precision a fair bit now. Can't fault it apart from the pickups. Bit aggressive sounding for me. Its a CIJ Precision from '97 i think? Something like that. I dont know if the p/ups in there are original or not. I know next to nothing about pickups so i was hoping to get some suggestions from you knowledgable lot. I dont like harshness to my sound. My usual sound is slight bass boost and treble rolled off to 9 O'clock, played on a bass with 8 year old strings. So vintage kind of sound i guess. What you say Basschat? What you say?
18. Nice! Well happy for you. Make sure to do it justice and play it
19.
Unlike you and Bob though, I've not yet bought a Warwick I have lusted after a couple though.
Don't fight it. Nothing cuts through like a Warwick IMO YMMV and all that other jazz
20. Ive got a Silver Series tucked away in the attic! Got it for a good price. Just not worth my while selling it at what current market values it at. It's a great bass for the price. If another comes up at this price, jump on it
