1. Yes 12s in there Marc. Stupidly light, yet a real quality to the build IMO. More than willing to split if there are two interested parties at the same time. As always, your always welcome over to try it first mate
  2. No tweeter. Didnt feel they needed them
  3.
Nothing, and I mean *nothing* irritates me more than the 'clap on beats 1 & 3' brigade. Have they no soul?
I feel your pain
  4. Brilliant. Just need to get him along to our next gig now and we are sorted
  5. Yes, our new policy is to hide it when not in use. Lesson learnt!
  6.
I'd better not say any more
And as such, told me all i needed to know
  7.
I actually have a customer who prefers to sing without music, and then gets me to put it into time
That is insane. Are they actually in key? Do they stay in time? Or do you have to alter everything in production?
  8.
yes I hate it when the audience clap along and I'm trying to play drums. Actually I hate it when our singer tries to clap along and have banned him from doing it
Ive been in a band before where the singer had an awful sense of time. Absolutely brilliant singer, but unless you kind of nodded at him of his cues to come in, he would've had no chance. Makes you think if he actually heard the music or would have just sang the song regardless of whether the music was playing.
  9. Yeh the off time clapping hasn't ever been too much of a problem. Tambo is a different story though!
Funny just how many people "think" they can keep time.
The lady in question actually said "im really good on the tambourine so don't worry" I felt like shouting "LIARRRR!!" mid song
  10. I play in a acoustic duo, and we often loop a tambourine sample, so there is a beat whilst we are playing. Played a wedding last night (wednesday!?) and a few of the people dancing wanted to get involved. We are all for that, so handed a tambourine out. Little did we realise just how off-putting it would be. It was incredibly hard to keep a steady tempo when the tambourine was being shaken to a rhythm as constant as a broken grandfather clock I wasn't surprised that they were off time, but i was surprised at how hard it was to ignore it, and keep playing as normal. Try it, give a tambo to someone who you know has no rhythm, and try and play a song.
  11. Bought a practice amp off Rich. Everything as described. Arrived when he said it would. All went smoothly. Cheers Rich!
  12.
What, you mean this ? Pretty damn good so far, have a bump!
Never been a fan of Ricks, but that looks f*£$ing amazing!!
  13. If there were two people interested in me splitting them i would. Otherwise, i just think it makes sense to sell them as a pair
  14. Warwick streamer stage 1. Would have to get it second hand to be within your budget. But they do everything. IMO anyway
  15. Thanks Karl If I had seen the bass I'm after a couple days earlier they would have been yours too!! How's the Rick working out for you?
  16. Ah fair enough, i didnt realise you were that close! Well all the options you have in mind seem to have excellent reviews, so whatever you opt for, im sure youll be very happy
  17.
Bumping this thread instead of starting a new one: Is anyone else using the Purple Chili 112's? I'm looking to upgrade my rig to 2x112 cabs (well I'll buy one then wait a few months & buy the other) and partly prompted by CamdenRob's for sale thread Purple Chili have made it on to the list. At the moment it's a three-way between the PC 112's, the TKS S112's and the Barefaced Super Compact's - I can get to both Twyford & Brighton quite easily for trials but it's a 100 mile drive to the other side of London for PC so I'd be really interested to hear what current users think. I do generally prefer the looks of the PC and the fact he uses recessed solid handles over those external strappy ones but it's a lot of money to be spending blind (or deaf I guess) having never heard one! Any help would be appreciated...
If you are down South Wales, you are welcome to try out my S112s. No obligation of course. You have to bring the biscuits though
  18.
That man cave - very jealous! Are you squatting 100? Very cool looking cabs - glws.
Love my gym. Very therapeutic. Bass and weights in one place of harmony The weights on the bar were from a shoulder complex. Think its only 80 on there. Thanks!!
That vynil!! I wanted that finish but bottled it and went plain black, same grille cloth though. They look incredible!
Thank you
  19. I'll carry one on my back as a spare too
  20.
Love the tolex on these!
Thank you
  21.
Wow, look at those weights! Are you buying an Ampeg 8X10 next?
Too flimsy
  22. So i've decided to sell this lovely pair of TKS S112s. Only as they aren't being used and it would be stupid to just leave them doing nothing except gather dust. They've probably been used less than 10 times and as such are immaculate. These have a few upgrades on the standard spec, so i paid £950 for them with the covers, although i'm informed the price has risen since i bought them. They are fantastic sounding cabs, very sensitive, very punchy, very articulate, as i'm sure anyone who has used them will confirm, but you are welcome to bring your own amp and bass and give them a blast at my house. They are extremely lightweight at 10kgs each, and i think they look pretty good too YMMV I'm happy for someone to arrange a courier for them, but it is to be arranged and paid for by you. Saying this i would definitely prefer you try them out before buying. Up to you though. Its [s]£800 [/s] £750. Like i said, that represents a healthy saving on what are effectively brand new cabs. Heres the official spec: Impedance: 8 Ω Power handling (high average power test signal): 250 W RMS Recommended amplifier power: 150-300 W RMS @ 8 Ω Sensitivity[average]: 99 dB SPL @ 1W/1m Sensitivity[100Hz]: 98 dB SPL @ 1W/1m Sensitivity[max]: 103 dB SPL @ 1,5 kHz, 1W/1m Frequency response (-10db): 46 Hz – 4,8 kHz Displacement: 237 cm³ Measurements (WxHxD): 52x38x33 cm Weight: 10 kg And some photos: Thanks for looking
