1. I love the streamers. Loooks great!
2.
Here's the pic from the other thread again, TC 210 on a Stagg GAS-4.2 amp stand:
Thanks Bill. Yup that's the one I saw Ras haha. Cheers everyone
3.
Do a quick search on BC for 'boundary reinforcement'.
Pretty much exactly what i asked isnt it? Sorrrrryyyyyy
4.
Generally it's a bad idea.
Fair enough. Thanks Alex
5. I am guessing having the sound closer to ear level is a good thing, but having it off the floor, does that effect its perceived sound? Do i lose anything by doing this? There was a thread a little while back where someone posted a picture of their cab which was perched on what looked like a keyboard stand (cant remember exact thread sorry). That's what got me thinking..... I have a 2X10 setup now, and wondered if this kind of thing would benefit or hinder me?
6. Not disrespect in the way Blue is on about but having drunk people falling into you as you are playing is pretty annoying. I mean, if it happens once, no problem. Accidents happen. But last gig a lady full on stacked it into me mid song, i zero'd my volume and picled her up, then came back in. Instead of moving back a little, or somewhere else all togeher, she kept on dancing right infront of me. I had to move the position if my bass so i was playing it like a Cello she was so close. She proceeded to bump and knock me for the rest of the set. Super annoying. Not the firsty time it happened either! When there is a whole dancefloor to choose from, why stand that close?!?! Might set myself up an electric fence from now on.
7. We got lucky and found a good one, who also plays the sax! Winner. The way we went about it was to ring around al the local piano teachers. One of the teachers was nifty on the keyboard and fancied it, so maybe give that a try? Worked for us! If the teachers themselves aren't keen, surely they'll know some people who may be? Good luck. Having a good keys player makes a huge difference to our sound, although i do appreciate what some have said about them needing to be good
8. Thats cool. Its different. In a good way! Nice one
9. A lesson in perseverance! Amazing work Andy
10.
I suspect the above list of 'difficulties' reflects that fact that most of the things we have 'difficulties' with are not bass playing but party tricks.
Definitely
11.
It's weird, I can play latin and jazz all night, but not reggae.
I was the same when i first started playing reggae. I'm by no means an expert at it now, but i found its the space in the basslines that made it tricky. For me at least. I love it now though. It's a nice break after playing some of the motown stuff The technique i've never been able to grasp is playing with 3 or 4 fingers on the playing hand. I mean, i can do it, but the notes aren't even and it's just a shambles! I don't even try anymore, because i don't feel i need that technique with the stuff i play, but there was a time i just wanted to be able to play it and practiced it a lot. Still though, didn't ever really get close
12.
Wow... good stuff Can't complain about a free cab
I can't, and don't intend to
13. I'll get some pictures of it when we have practice next. I don't think there's any floor space in our house at the minute
14. Cheers everyone. Yeh, brilliant prize, which is exactly why I didn't want to seem unappreciative.
15. So it turns out I was the winner of the Retro Two10 competition. Outstanding bit of luck!! Couldn't believe it when I was told! Alex was a delight to deal with, as always, and the cab arrived when it was supposed to. As I'm in the middle of a house move (boxes everywhere), and our last weekends gig was cancelled, I haven't had a chance to have a go at it yet. But I can't wait!! It's the 4ohm version and I really think it could be the one cab solution I've wanted. This isn't meant to be a 'look at what I've got' thread, but at the same time, I feel very lucky to have won, and don't want the generosity shown by Alex to be unnoticed! So, thanks Alex! Look forward to giving it a blast and sharing my thoughts on it soon
16. Gorgeous looking bass. Love the whole neck. The fingerboard and the purpleheart? on the back.
17. Don't know to be honest. Like I say, I haven't had it long myself. Just wanted to see if I got on with 5ers. I do, and now own an active 5er! It's a lovely bass though, feel free to come and have a blast through my rig, or bring your own down
18.
I cannot believe this hasn't shifted yet. A lovely bass, a great colour and a top seller. Have a Bump on me and GLWTS

Random "I had a go on Si600's one of these at the Midlands Bass Bash last week and they are indeed excellent basses" bump
Cheers gents. Quite surprised it's still here myself tbh! Fair bit of interest, but no takers yet
