1. Wow Beautiful to look at, and i cant imagine the sound of any of the possible combinations you have here!! My TKS are en-route to me, and i cant wait for them to arrive after seeing this!
2. Had a few offers of trades, but nothing firm yet type BUMP
3. Haha thanks mate! No doubt it's a killer bass, and in fabulous condition. But yeh, I love my streamer. This is far too good to not get played, so I'll move it on! And as for the rights to the photos, thank you,I think I owe you a drink
4. The Tonehammer does have a good resale value. That might be worth bearing in mind?
5. Hello, and welcome! Im sure your gear will change much more frequently now you're here
6. Ahhh yeh that would be a bit of a long road trip for you to make
7. I dont use them. I find it takes away the dynamics of my playing. I want some parts to sound more dug in, and some parts to sound smoother etc As for the FOH compression, if he asked what i'd prefer, i'd tell him the same. If he recommended i used one, i would. He's the sound expert so i'd hope he knew what he was doing!
8. My new rig will be the TKS112s with a TH500. ( Tommy has just sent the speakers ) And i know im not the first with this set up in these parts. I tested it down at BassGear a few months ago and it sounded awesome. I also tested the TKS with a LM3, a Big Bang, a GK, ATS. The ATS was really good aswell, but it was also a lot more expensive. The TH500 was the outright winner for me. I havent tried a Puma, so can't comment how they would sound. But if you went for the TH i think you would be very pleased. Where are you based? Im in South Wales if you wanted to come and see how the rig sounds?
9. Noooice. Just need the 4 string versions fretted and fretless now
10.
Potential sale fell through, so bump back up!
Ah nightmare! This is a quality custom made bass. Whoever gets it will be very pleased!! And Oli is a good guy. Hope it's sorted soon mate
11.
Ooh, Don't Stop Believin might work if we can somehow get past the piano intro. My brother suggested 'I wanna know what love is'. Cracking song, but might be a bit too ballad-y? Alex
I played it in a trio before, and learnt the piano part from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vph0iluEUHk Tricky, but it can be your moment to shine
12. Just heard from Tommy. Looks like they are being sent tomorrow. Can't wait!!
13. Price for sale is £1250, but I'd put a trade value of £1400 on it. Trades considered are Precisions of lower value with a cash adjustment. Moving house means I need to get some cash out of the bass Here are some pictures of it: https://www.flickr.com/photos/105454670@N03/sets/72157646037869528/ Hope Steve doesn't mind me using these, but they are better than anything I could do with my phone. So this is a German built Warwick thumb neck through. Made in 1992. Has a nice slim neck, that is super easy and fast to play. 34" scale Wenge/Bubinga neck, and a Wenge fingerboard. EMG pickups with a passive/active Warwick/MEC 2band EQ. Well balanced, and in excellent condition. This does everything you'd expect. Growly tone, that punches through the mix better than anything I've used before. The truss rod is basically untouched and the frets are also in excellent condition. This is a superb example of a early Thumb. So why am I moving it on? I keep coming back to my streamer. The streamer is a little lighter, and although it doesn't sound the same as the thumb (it can't sound as aggressive without effects) , it's more suited to the sound I want. Anyone who would like to come and try the bass first, to see if it's the sound they are looking for,is welcome to come to my house and have a play on it. It will come with a tweed hard case, and can be couriered, but at the buyers expense and risk! I've never had a problem before, but you never know with couriers!!
14. I know it doesn't mean much, but when they performed it live on the US version of "the Voice", the guy played a Precision style bass. I know, i know, it doesn't gaurantee it was on the record, and the performance may have been "mimed", I'm just saying
15. That you need to buy a palm sander?
16. Congratulations I owned one for a bit, and they are huuuuuuge sounding!!!
17. Nice bass! I know most people love the tort, but i'd stick with the black. Looks great. Happy days
18. EQ set flat except for a small cut on the treble. Then play/fiddle/move the EQ on the bass im using, depending on what song it is. Simples
19. I've never done that before, but it seems like a good idea. Definitely something i will consider doing next time my strings need a change!
