1. I'll have to look into the musicians union. Sounds good!!
2. Haha yeh fair point. We shall look into it next practice!! Cheers
3. No worries, once it's arrived and I've gigged it, I'll update the post
4. Ok thanks Yeh all our gear is PAT tested already. I'll look into the PL then. Thanks again
5. We've been asked to provide one of these for a gig. Never been asked before, so I don't know much about them. Is it compulsory as a gigging band to get one? If so, what's the best way to get one? Any info appreciated, because as I said, I know nothing about them
6. Nothing will help more than a good tutor though. The feedback they will give you you will be invaluable. And I'm not talking about a guitarist who can play bass, and as such can "slap" a rage against the machine song. I would say make the extra effort to find a good tutor, who only teaches bass. And if he/she has been recommended, even better.
7. Love this bass. Can't stop looking at it Such a shame that less well known bass makers don't seem to generate the interest. You won't get a bass that starts with F on the headstock anywhere near the quality of this in my opinion, but understandably people are apprehensive to give this a go. Still miss my Iturra. Whoever does give this a chance will be very happy Just as a disclaimer, I don't know the person trying to sell this
8. Higher and Higher is pretty tedious, but theres no denying it goes down well. For us at least. So... i just shut up and get on with it. Its not a bad bass line, its just that it is the same all the way through.
9. I will let you know how i find it. Although i can only compare to amps other than the GB 6.2, as i've never owned that
10. Thats fair enough Ive got a 6.0 on its way to me, so i was just wondering if there was any actual real world difference.
11. So what's the difference? Anyone have any experience with playing both? Guess this question is for the 9.0 & 9.2 too. I've read the spiel on the website, but what are people's experiences?
12. Warwick basses are the only basses id consider. Im looking for a Thumb in particular With cash from my way for the right one.
13. Ive had a few questions asked in PMs, so i thought id answer them here so everyone who is interested can get the information. The issue of the bridge being frozen due to the relicing is apparent in this P. Well, in 2 of the 8 saddle screws anyway. It has never been an issue for me as i like the way its set up. But, i'm aware it may not be to everyones taste, so i will include a standard Fender BBOT from a '04 Precision in the sale. Also, ive been asked if there'd be a difference in price if i didnt include the hardcase and strings. If you dont require the case and strings i'll sell for £725. I can post, but it wil be at the buyers expense. Thanks
14. Yup Pretty disappointing, especially seeing I messaged them before the sale to check they did actually want it!
15. Ok great. Give me a PM if you hear anything
16.
It doesn't have to be 'neat' btw, Les Claypool and Doug Wimbish are testament to that.
I suppose thats true, it is dependant on taste and type of music you want to play
17. Cheers Three It is a delightful bass indeed
18. Could you let me know if you decide to post, or are ever down south Wales area? Cheers
19. Start slow. Really slow. What makes someone sound good when they are playing slap is how "neat" they are. No open strings ringing, and notes starting and finishing when they are meant to. Start with a song that plays mostly octaves, start slow, and build up speed. Im assuming you know the basics of slap, like where to hit the string, how to position your hand? If not, id have a look on youtube. Im sure Scotts bass lessons will have something useful for you. Once you think you know where your going, I think "treasure" by Bruno Mars would probably be a good one to look at. But like i say, start slow. Get the right notes playing , when they're meant to be, then slowly build it up to tempo
20. Thats great Karl, i was looking for it actually. Thanks mate
21. Price now dropped to £700 Here are a few pictures of it: I can provide more pictures on request. This is a 1963 Precision replica made my Mark from Limelight Guitars. There is a lot of love for these on the forum, and rightly so. A fantastic bass for the money, absolutely nails the vintage sound. Alnico Pickups It has the added benefit of having a nice slim jazz shaped neck. Im only selling this as something has come up that i'd really like to get. If it sells before mine, i'll remove this. It currently has old roundwound strings on it. Thats the sound i like, but i will throw in a set of Labellas Flats if the buyer would like them. I also will include a Fender Hardcase that isnt standard issue with these basses. Trials are welcomed and encouraged!
22. Either have a '87 streamer that's awesome Slim neck though, so probably not best suited for you. Punchiest bass I've ever owned was a $$ Try one of them if you can, and if you're ever my way you're welcome to try mine out
