Great. I assumed it was probably tht they should be in front, with no monitors though i was worried about the singer not being able to hear himself. We are currently saving for a monitor, so this looks ideal. Thanks!! Any settings on the EQ that would help a little bit?

Also, i dont know if this is the section for this, if not, feel free to move it

Ok, so somehow ive ended up being in charge of setting up our bands PA now. Think i got lumped with it because im the one that ends up trying to improve levels in the mix etc. So, in all honesty, i know the basics of setting up a PA. But nothing more. In a practice, we all kind of face inwards to each other, and i have no problem getting the PA up to playing volume without any issues. When we gig however, im struggling to get the same clarity and volume without feedback. There are 4 vocals, a keyboard and a sax going into the mix Now, im guessing the reason for feedback is because we are all facing the same way, and as a result the mics are facing the speakers causing feedback? I end up trying to rectify this by turning the individual mic levels down, cutting the treble, and turning Master volume up, as far as possible without the feedback kicking in again. Im well aware, this is probably not the way to go about this, so is there anything you could advise, to help? Dont know if it makes a difference but we have a Yamaha EMX312SC PA, and Peavey infinity speakers Thanks in advance for any advice/tips

I liked it. But its all about if you like it. If you think it will improve your playing, or be good for you, thats great. But if you dont really enjoy the music, i dont see it being something long term. It gets boring quickly playing music you dont enjoy. Well i should say, i get bored quickly, playing music i dont enjoy.

Good luck Ive done a few and they really keep you on your toes

We practice once a week. That's not set in stone though. Probably end up having 3 a month. In a watts app group we agree on two or three songs in the week. Then come the weekend we just put it all together and arrange them how we want. Usually warm up with a few of the usual set too just to keep things sharp. Practice isn't a chore for us though as we are all mates before the band formed. So that may make us different to a few bands

So ive had this for a week now. Played two gigs and had about 4 hours practice with it, so im familiar with it. Here's some terrible pictures of it: I saw it on the Limelight website, and i pretty much decided there and then that i was going to have it. If you asked me to describe my ideal bass, this wouldnt be far off. So how could i say no?!?! Lovely looking bass IMO. I was quite surprised by how accurate the relicing was. There is wear exactly in the places there would be, if i had actually used this bass since '63. Just a coincidence of where i anchor my thumb i suppose, but still, a pleasant coincidence! Feels extremely comfortable, and is pretty light. Light enough so that it doesnt bother me when playing it. One gig lasted 3 hours, and i was fine the next day. The pickups give the bass a great vintage sound to my ear. I love how slim and easy the neck is to play. Im pretty sure its a jazz shaped neck. Certainly feels like one Im so happy with it, its now my gigging bass. This is saying quite a lot for me as its ousted my '87 Warwick Streamer. All in all, couldnt be happier. Would recommend a Limelight to anyone

So, as suggests, I'm looking for the pedal that comes with the pre amp. I have contacted SWR, but was told that they don't have any. I find that doubtful, but what can I say if they tell me they have none? Anywhere/anyone you could think of trying?

Fender USA Precision Bass *SOLD.PLEASE CLOSE*

Yeh same pics mate. Im a terrible photographer so i recycled them. Hope you dont mind. Its got the silver pearl effect scratch plate on it right now. Dont know the "proper" name. Ive got a spare black one, but the Tort isnt here anymore. It is however, still a great bass. Ive just got a Limelight P though, which is going to be the bass i use. Its fantastic. So this one moves on to a new home -
This situation has happened to me and a few mates before. I always pack my bass away as soon as i stop playing it. But our guitarist doesnt bother. It was a jam night and some guy who went up after us (he was in his mid 40s id say), just picked up the guitar. Didnt ask, and didnt say thanks after. Just basic manners really isnt it? Well our guitarist waited for them to finish playing and sit back down. He then walked over to their table and sat down next to the guy who played his guitar, didnt introduce himself, picked up the guys pint and started sipping it slowly. Helped himself to a few pork scratchings, finished the pint, then got up and walked back over. They didnt say a word. We were in stitches. It probably helped that my friend is a big lad. 6ft 3, 18 stone jobby.

As it says in the title, this is a Fender Precision Made in US of A in 2004. Heres some pics: This is a good quality bass, priced fairly i think. It has the S1 switching option on it, although im still not sure what that does! It has a different scratch plate on it at the minute, but i have the old one, and will include both in the trade sale of it. Ideally id like a trade. Looking for a similar standard jazz. Id prefer collection, but i can post. As always, trials always welcomed, and any questions, shoot me a PM Cheers for looking

Cool Reminds me of "I Against I" .Dont know why really. Used to listen to their album "headcleaner" a lot when i was bit younger. Think your singer sounds like the Millencoin singer a little bit too. Think its the way he phrases his lyrics? Dunno. Good stuff though

How do you know when a bass just doesn't have "that sound"?
FuNkShUi replied to Grangur's topic in Bass Guitars
I know its been said many times before, but what sounds good to you in a quieter, practice eviroment, might sound terrible in a band mix. I know the best settings to give myself best presence in a mix, but its certainly not the EQ i would set if i was playing in the house. So maybe the streamer is just better suited to being played in a band environment? That said, it could be as simple as you just prefer the PBass sound! And if that is the case, i would personally sell the streamer and buy something with a P Pup configuration. Why not? Doesnt matter how expensive your streamer is, if the problem is you dont ike the sound it gives you, buy a bass for that money that you do like
