1. Selling my monitors as I have a baby on the way, and it turns out, between work, gigging, being a family man, studying towards my accountancy qualification and building my camper, I don't actually have time for recording! I've had these monitors for a 2 years now, great set of monitors, very neutral sounding. Here's the music radar review http://www.musicradar.com/gear/tech/recording/monitors/studiophile-bx8a-deluxe-164974 On one of the monitors, the paint at the back has cracked on one of the corners, as shown in one of the pictures, very superficial, no effect on sound. 2. After playing this last night, I'm withdrawing this from sale.....its too good to part with!
3. Just a feeler, as I've fallen madly in love with my Lakland 55-01. Spector Legend Custom 5 in Black Cherry. This is the one with the 35" scale, gold hardware & EMG HZ humbucker pickups. Looking for around £400 plus postage with hard case. Possible Trades - A Lakland bass or a barefaced cab. Will post pics later this week
4. Awesome bass this - I've been gigging a 55-01 for about 6 weeks and find it so comfortable, and with a great full sound. Had compliments from all 3 of the bands I've been playing in - considering selling my spector and going full lakland Best of luck with the sale!
5. Hey richard, what would you say is a rough time estimate to assemble one of these bad boys?
6. Will have to post a picture
7. Hws the fit of the gk cab? I believe the tc cab is about the same width at the compact so wouldn't look out of place. Cosmetic I know, but I like things to look good as well as sound good I would get anoteher compact but seeing as I have a baby coming I've gotta think of byying prams over cabs lol
8. I have a little conundrum......I used to play 2 compacts stacked with my bh500 - really nice setup, played well and threw out a great sound. Due to financial reasons I had to get rid of one of the cabs. I am now in a position to get another cab, but would like to hear peoples opinions abou what to pair it with? I wouldn't mind trying a BC212 with it, as I think it would work quite well. Has anyone else tried this combination?
9.
Hmm... Anyone near York with one of these slim necks?
I'm at Roman Baths on 1st December if u wanna pop down and give my a go dude? Got a Legend Custom 5, the necks are so easy to play, definitely one of the better basses I've owned
10. Hey Guys Just purchased a Lakland 55-01 to complement my Spector Legend Custom 5, and its such a nice bass . Lovely neck - didn't know if I would like it as I was so used to the thinner Spector neck, but gigged it last night - so easy! I'm now considering upgrading the preamp inside it. The current one (bartolini mk1 preamp i believe) does make a bit of noise, but not massive amounts, but seeing as I have my first coming in March, best be treating myself now before all the gig money goes on nappies! Anyone got any suggestions? I currently play in a couple of rock cover bands, so it'd be nice to have something can produce a bit of bite!
11. Any1 gigged with one yet?
12. On ebay now - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230873517790?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649
13. I use a BH500 with a compact, and it never usually goes about 4 or 5, even without PA support! Used to have a second compact, but it all honestly, don't need the second one, but it was always nice for the festival shows shifting all that air! Headlined Bridge Rats Biker Rally in Halifax last summer to 1500 bikers, had one compact and the bh500 cranked to 7 - sounded immense! The compact deffo works better cranked
14. Decided to go the full 5 string route after falling in love with my spector - so with jazz has to make way! Had it from new back in Jan 2007, this bass is your standard sandburst mexican jazz bass. This is the it has been a workhorse bass, probably gigged around the 500 gig mark so it has the appropriate dings and scuffs and scratches to go with it. It has been upgraded with US jazz pickups, and a badass II bridge. It plays pretty well, but could do with a decent setup. It would serve well as a backup bass, or a on the road bass. NOW SOLD! THANK YOU Pics here - http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1555.l2649
