Calling all bass players in the South Yorkshire area! The Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra would like to hear from YOU.
Due to relocations and retirements we've recently lost 5 of our Double Bass players 😞 If anyone is in the market for joining an orchestra we would be really interested to hear from you.
We rehearse 7.30pm-9.45pm in Sheffield City Centre on Tuesdays (in term time) in the stunning Victoria Hall.
There's a loading bay outside and we also have access to free parking next door.
We give 5 concerts a year to sell out audiences. Upcoming performances will include an outdoor proms event in the Botanical Gardens with firework finale & a Mahler Symphony 2 at Sheffield City Hall.
We play a wide variety of repertoire: popular classics, large scale symphonic works, new commissions, works by lesser known composers...
We're a friendly bunch of people, we play to a good standard and we have a lot of fun. Check out some footage from our concert last month:
