  1. Snuffed it for proper this time then.
  2. Bass Centre Elites Stadium 40 - 100, on everything. Since around 1995.
  3. I used to like seeing how the dancers on the floor coped with the classic drum break at 1.55-2.02: The savvy ones had it down.
  4. It is very relevant. The ability to recognise intervals, patterns and chord progressions before you've even attempted to play them. That's why internalising interval recognition is important for learning, transcribing and having something to practise away from the instrument. Brain training.
  5. It's just another tepid Tuesday.
  6. I thought I saw an opportunity at the time so I sent off a demo to EMI, with a working version of my song: Purple Thursday. Alas, it was rejected. Who could possibly dislike a song about gathering blackberries on a 'pick your own' farm. Miserable gits.
  7. I remember Big Ronnie's band complaining about the name, so he said he would initialise it. From then on they found themselves billed as: "The Big R Soul Band." Careful what you wish for.
  8. Start with hand positions, finding the right position for what you are playing. If you see someone sliding up and down looking for notes most of the time, you know it's amateur night. The idea is to achieve fluidity and have it under your fingers so you can concentrate on other aspects. That's where familiarising yourself with scales and harmony comes into its own.
