  1. Captive audience. "I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies."
  2. I've had to play it a few times, it's still got the old magic. It is a well written song. As a working musician, I've had to play a lot of stuff that I wouldn't usually take to, but artistic integrity alone won't sustain one...
  3. It's a cheeky little number but it's a good way around it. I wonder how many punters couldn't remember which way around it was...
  4. "One man's civilization Is another man's jungle, yeah..."
  5. The originals wrote those songs, which another band are just performing. On the coat-tails of.
  6. There's nothing wrong with billing yourself correctly, honesty is the best policy. Well, it used to be anyway: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Australian_Pink_Floyd_Show
  7. Because it isn't the real thing. You're just selling out the name. If it's a tribute, then it is exactly that.
  8. I'd consider it as selling their bones for the money basically.
  9. I think it's very misleading to use the name with no original members left in the band, then it's just a tribute.
  10. Not exactly difficult to mimic, there's a lot of it about.
  11. Time to ring the bell on Gong. They should go out as a tribute: Bong.
  12. "During the 1950s and 1960s, the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment (AWRE), now known as AWE, became the area's largest employer, and many houses were built during this period to accommodate AWRE workers." It's sort of like "The Hills Have Eyes" with different accents.
  13. Working on the B-side for this at the moment, got a title: "Sleigh Ride to the Foodbank (Milk Crate Merriment)".
  14. I can only presume that it was Deon Estus, he joined sometime after 1982. I never knew Estus was taught by Jamerson: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deon_Estus
  15. I wouldn't worry about it, we live in an age of people pretending they are something they are not. That's sort of normalised now. Fake it till you make it...
  16. Every year I compose a little Christmas ditty that tries to encapsulate the last few years of our experience. This year it's titled: "Merry Pisstmas (Drinking to Forget)".
  17. 4.55 muting a six string, not easy:

    Plexi fakes

I tried a P type plexi years back, I remember that it was very heavy.
  19. Mine works in passive mode, it doesn't take a large amount of top off, mostly the very high frequencies.
  20. 8.20, you'll notice Scott says that muting will be an automatic response, but floating thumb which he is using, isn't an easy technique in itself. So that's how he got around it: A lot of slappers like four strings, no B to mute.
