Just so ya'll know this event sold out a few weeks ago. We then added another 30 extra tickets, and they sold out in a few days. And Jon, here is a shortlist of Gavs Slash gear... 1. Derrig Replica - Based on Slash's No1 Recording Guitar 2. Appetite Les Paul - Based on Slash's main live guitar 3. Appetite Les Paul - Based on same as above, but during the G n' R days. 4. Guild Acoustic - Same spec/age as Slash's live guitar in G n' R days. 5. The Rig (from top Furman Power Conditioner, Peterson Strobe Tuner, Nady Wireless, Rack Mounted Crybaby Wah, Rocktron Hush NoiseGate and Slash Signature Amp.) Missing from gallery Gav has matching Slash Cabs, and Custom Shop B C Rich Mockingbird as seen in "You Could be Mine" video.
Yes I'm a geek and would love to see some pics please! Shame about the AFD100 as it is just a killer amp. When I saw Slash gig with the current line amp that amp sounded REALLY good across his whole catalogue of songs.
Bump. Would swap for m-80 or recording gear. Well most things anyway. Try me!
Bump, on eBay for £100 now. This us an amazing pedal for valve amps. With features perfect for bass. With a wide range of dynamic tones from supple and clear to warm and punchy! The Pork Loin's amazing features and superior functionality distinguish it from the mass of clones on the market today! The Pork Loin incorporates two distinct tonal pathways that are blended together¿a modern soft clipping overdrive and a modified classic British preamp for clean. At the heart of the Pork Loin's overdrive path is a soft clipped BiFET gain stage with a low pass filter TONE control, rounded out by a CURVE function that gives the user freedom to fine-tune corner frequencies. The VOLUME control regulates the masses of pork power that exude from its space age circuitry, leaving room for the CLEAN control to blend in its warm glistening clean tones. Additionally, the Pork Loin has three internal mini controls for fine-tuning the pedal to your guitar rig. internal mini controls: FILTER deliver extensive tonal shaping possibilities for the British preamp, while the overdrive MIX control allows the Pork Loin to be run as a clean preamp. Additionally, the PRESENCE control tweaks the high end on the overdrive. INTERNAL CONTROLS These controls are for fine-tuning to your guitar and amp rig: Filter - adjusts the clean preamp tonal spectrum Voice - cuts the mid frequencies of the clean Presence - tweaks the high end on the overdrive Drive Mix - controls the mix of the overdrive. Turn this all the way down to get only clean British preamp tones with no overdrive. CONTROLS VOLUME - regulates the masses of pork power that exude from its space age circuitry TONE - adjusts the overdrives tonal spectrum OVERDRIVE - emanates smooth soft clipped overdrives waves CLEAN - blends in warm glistening clean tones CURVE - for fine-tuning corner frequencies of the overdrive FOOTSWITCH - toggles the effect on/bypass (blue LED indicates effect is ON)
Many thanks for that. BTW i will also swap these for a set of Active Speakers.
I have a pair of these myself, and like Chris's there's no model number. However, they are very nice speakers indeed : clear and very sweet, they are high quality stuff. Well worth the £60 and postage IMHO.
Duff used a Yamaha SPX-90ii in that era for his chorus. But before that a Ibanez CS-9 and a Boss CE-2B. Try any of those!
Anyone have any idea what effect Duff uses on the intro to that track? Sounds like it may be a flanger. Any info appreciated. Tokai Jazz Sound Early 80's (Possibly '82) - £400
chriswilliams666 posted a topic in Basses For Sale
I am selling this on behalf of the guitarist in my band. Ive had it on loan for a while, cleaned it and set it up. Unfortunately I cannot afford (nor have room) for another bass. This is lovely and really needs a good home. As you can see its in great condition for its age. Yellowed Nicely, and all original. Never had any covers, or thumb rests fitted. Not even had the strap locks changed. I don't really know the spec as most of the documentation i can find is in Japanese. After doing research you can buy a NEW one of these for £629 or an inferior Chinese version for £399. Bag yourself a sought after, Japanese made instrument for £400. If interested please contact me and i will send you the relevant details about contacting the seller who is based in Bognor Regis. Many thanks! Edit. Attachments aren't working. Here is a link to my original porn post - Link -
Unfortunately not. It's a long story as to why not. It shows how anal he is. Our slash runs exactly the same rig slash did in his snakepit days from amps, valves, cables, pedals, racks etc. Oh and 5 slash guitars! I have pics if you're geeky. By the way the gig sold out last week and the venue has allocated us an extra few tickets. Rock n f'n roll.
Sorry Chris, Got a heavy weekend of work that weekend so it is just a bit too far for me this time. Am really keen to see your band though. Just out of interest is your 'Slash' buying one of the new Marshall AFD100 amps? Cheers, Jon
Ive got one of these. One of the last great Line 6 FX units. Used in LOADS of top studios and by session players. Good luck with the sale.
Fantastic condition Line6 bass pod pro. Looking for £140 or trade for something interesting.
Glad you like the place. Its nice we have something local now. Normally this sorta gig would have been out of town. Maybe you should come down to the gig? ;-) You may enjoy it, and hopefully win some music goodies!
Hey Chris, I was down in Bognor at the White Horse on Tuesday for a band rehearsal (long way for a Londoner!) and recognised your gig poster on the wall - then put two and two together! Nice little venue with a decent sized stage. Best of luck with the gig!
Hey Guys I have a rare one here. I believe it was a trade show special in the UK, there is nothing online about its existance. It cost me about £150 at trade. Mahogany Colour body, Rosewood Fretboard, Chrome Hardware with Ibanez Ivorex Saddles and Bridge Pins. I will get some pics soon, but its currently at a friends house. Collected from Bognor Regis.

Hey Guys As it says on the tin really. I no longer have my Lakland, so thought this might come in handy for someone else? Obviously i don't want any money for it but throw a couple of quid in a donation to BassChat and its yours.

Hey There Ive got an original mid 80s Jazz Bass Special (PJ-555) in all Black inc. Headstock, Neck and Hardware. Really light, comfortable to play. Sounds great, and has a TBX tone pot which is a great feature. They come stock with the High Output (1/4" pole pieces) Jap Fender Pickups. I'm a big Duff Fan so mine is modded with Knurled Metal Knobs and Seymour Duncan STK-J2B Bridge pickup. Also worth looking at is the new Duff McKagan signature model. Pretty much the same guitar, although the neck shape is a bit suspect ;-)
Ok, that's brilliant. I didn't know the distinction between the Jazz Special and Power Jazz Special - ie which ones were active or passive. I think the PJ-555 is passive (but not entirely sure). Geddys nose - PM coming soon.
Think I'm only the 2nd person to say Guns N' Roses. I would be happy being a part of Appetite for Destruction, and a world tour. I don't think i could put up with Axl for any longer.
