Legend, you know it makes sense!
Withdrawn, as much as I want to accept the endorsement, after thinking for a couple of days, I'm not prepared to give up the best rig I've ever used to buy a cheaper rig I've never even tried. If I get a Warwick rig, it'll be paid for without money from this being involved.
-
I've said my part on the FOR SALE Thread, and I too am not suprised you've been handed a Warwick Endorsement/Sponsership/Direct Sale/Stock Rotation. I believe the company you are getting the goods from should have players that believe in the gear. Have you ever played through a Warwick Amp? Are you sure a ProFet or Tubepath is gonna compete on Build and Sound Quality of your GK? If it goes wrong (and i've heard they do) are Warwick gonna take your amp back to Germany and fix it for you, or send you another? - I don't think so. You'll be down to your local repair tech getting a bill at the end of it. As far as i'm aware the 2 biggest GK users being Duff McKagan and Flea both purchased their own gear before they were famous and later recieved gear FREE from GK as thanks for their loyalty. Thats the real deal! Turn round to Warwick and get some cheap strings! :-p
Hang on... this isn't a wind up is it? BBC is that you?
Fender Jazz Bass Special Fretless Japan
chriswilliams666 replied to heffsett's topic in Basses For Sale
Its quite possible the Tone Pot is a TBX pot which adds bass and treble simoultaneously. Should be able to work this out by it having a centre detent point where it clicks as you turn. Good luck with the sale, these are amazing basses. I would of had it if it had frets!
Hello For sale, Fender Jazz Bass Special Fretless, made in Japan A fretless version of the one played by Duff McKagan (Guns and Roses) from 1986 Pickups P/J vol, vol, tone passive neck and head black, like a piano pics here : Pics for the Fender JB Fretless Japan £500
-

As a matter of pure Rock n Rollness, if you're happy why don't you speak to GK (Polar Audio here in the UK) about a comparable endorsement? Ask them for a 2001rb! You know it makes sense.
Yeah, I'm wondering if it's a bit cheap to be honest hehe, but it's up now. There's still potential for this to get pulled, I'm perfectly happy with this rig, it's just an ego thing and to look good to accept the endorsement. I don't think the amp I'd get will be any better or worse on the whole of it. I'll be losing a bit of money, but hey, you only live once. I'll also be very open to selling just one of the cabs for £350. I'll spill the beans on who it is when it's all 100%. It's a definite offer, but I'm not 100% I want to accept it yet.
-

Spill the beans on the endorser! Its gotta be pretty good for you to sell your GK! I can vouch for how good the gear is. Ive had the 700rb (now use the 2001rb) and ive got 410rbh cabs. This is just the more sensible option! Thats a bargain price too!
Thanks. Just had a reply from the potential endorser, so this sale's definitely on now. I'll get up some pics ASAP, but this whole stack looks great, there's some scuffing if you look closely at the corners of the cabs, a mark on the back of one and a slight bent bit of metal and a scratch on the back of the head (which you can't see once it's racked) but it's otherwise perfect. The plastic's only been off one of the cabs about 2 weeks. I even still have all the boxes (complete with all the cellophane and polystyrene) if you want them too. Just to give you an idea of what it looks like, here's a pic from when I'd just had it delivered. Obviously there's another cab now and I'm not including the tuner or the rack in the sale.
-
Hey Dude Thanks for the update. Glad to see some more RBH cabs on the scene. I used to run a 700rb-II into a 410rbh and that was more then enough for 95% of gigs. I do now run a 2001rb and 2 x 410RBH cabs for the very big gigs, festival appearances and such. Then i use an 800rb with 1 x 410rbh for everything else. I also compete with 2 Marshall stacks at gigs. The reason behind getting the 2001rb was for the following; 1. Distortion Channel 2. Wiring flexibility (all the inputs and outputs are on the rear which is more suited to my rackmount gear) 3. Footswitchable Channels and Tuner Mute (something the SHOULD put on the other models) 4. I have 4 ohm cabs so i can get full power from my 800rb with just one cab. But i cannot run 2 x 4ohm cabs from a 700rb etc. 5. Its looks amazing. 6. I get my gear direct from distributor, which saves me a bucket load.
Just as a personal update for this thread, I got another 210RBH (so that's 700RB-II into 2x210RBHs). Can't imagine I'd ever need a louder amp, when needed I can just take along one of the 210s and it manages (just, but if the space is needed, it's ok). Anyone that uses 2x410RBHs must be insane or deaf, I can't imagine ever needing that much volume..ever. But they do look awesome! hehe
We are pretty regimented with our approach to load-ins and outs. Basically we all get there at the same time (doesn't always happen i know) But we unload one car at a time whoever owns the car/gear generally stays with the vehicle until its time to move on to the next car. But remember gear can be stolen inside the venue too, so never leave that un-attended either!
I'll bet it was the singer, too busy yapping to chicks or folk from other bands to help with loading and unloading. We had a singer that used to chuck his mic in the back of the van (if he hadn't forgotten it) and say "right lads that's my gear in" and he'd disappear to off to mingle.
Very similar, although i think the 800rb sounds tighter. More studio quality. I dont think the age would have made any difference, considering my 800rb is 14 years old. I now have the 2001rb, mainly cos i wanted more power then my original 700rbII and needed an on-board distortion. This sounds OK at rehearsal volumes, but INCREDIBLE at gigging volumes, this is when it sounds like an 800 on steroids. Ive only used the 800rb once in a live situation, as i only got it a week ago. Looking forward to many gigs with it.
Nice one mate! I'd love to try an 800RB out some time- how does the tone compare with the modern G-K heads (700/1001RB-II)?
