Done! Go add yours!
Hell, I would go as far as saying we need a separate 'porn' thread for these highly underrated basses!
-

Thats a very nice colour. Good luck with the sale!
Hey All, I have up for sale my MIM Precision in Metallic Gunmetal Bluey/Greeny type thang. I am told this was a colour that fender did for a music show in the past. It has been upgraded with a Badass II, SD 1/4 Pounder and is currently strung with d'addario chromes. It is in great overall condition with no buckle rash and one tiny paint chip near where your arm rests on the body. Comes with a fender "deluxe" gig bag. I am not looking for any trades on this unless you have a natural sterling ray 34 with some cash from me! I do not have a box suitable for sending this at the moment so would prefer a local pickup or delivery done by myself. If as a last resort it must be sent then I will source a suitable box and shipping will be at buyers expense. Looking for 325 ono. Cheers, JM
chriswilliams666 replied to richardd's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Have you tried the GK Neo range? They're pretty good. Have tried a 2x12 and a 4x12 i think? They're great. Well worth looking into. And i know exactly what you mean about the weight of these cabs!
Hi Chris, it certainly is a great rig with thr 700, but it is just getting a bit to heavy for me to move about, not shure what to get but I know it will still be regular speakers and not Neo's so keeping an open mind,
-

Great price and product. I have two of these power-houses and they are great on their own too! One of the best 4x10s on the market i reckon. PS. Might be worth putting GK or Gallien Krueger in your listing. There is no "and" or "&" in their name! Good luck with the sale.
For Sale my G&K4x10 RBH bass cab at 8 ohms 800 watt, a few scuffs and a small tear above the Krueger badge, build like a tank quiet heavy, these cabs really rock even on it's own it still puts out serious volume and tone.cab is Biampable with a correctly wired speakon lead, will put up pic's as soon as I can get hold of a camera,£450 over £700 new, collect meet only as shipping will cost a bomb photo's to follow asap,PM for any more info
-

Great price, great pedal. Good luck. Wish i had the spare cash...
Now after selling my Amp, I've realised I really don't need my pedal either. So one lucky Basschatter is in luck, as they will be able to buy this wonderful pedal for decent price of £80. Its a really good pedal, got loads of sounds from the Eq, and the way you can change the distortion. On top of that, you can use it as a DI, with or without the distortion. Great pedal for anyone who wants to buy it.
Hey Guys A few of you have emailed me about seeing some of the Duff (McKagan) related gear, so have taken pics of everything i use live. 1. Franken-Sid - Started off as a Vintage Modified Squier Precision. Added a Classic Vibe Jazz Neck, Gotoh Machine Heads, All Black hardware inc. BadAss II, Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder Pickups including a Jazz Bass Pickup that needed routing into the body. Was a fun project. Pretty much my Dream Setup. Plus it is wired as two volumes, no tone! Tuned to Standard 2. Fender Duff McKagan Signature - Pretty much stock, although added Dunlop Strap Locks and it has been signed by the man himself on the back of the headstock. Tuned to Eb 3. Fender '85 Jazz Special - has been modded to Duff's spec inc. Duncan STK-J2B Bridge Pickup and Black Barrel Knobs. Have also changed the bridge and neck plate for N.O.S. Parts as the original one's have corroded as i'm not a fan of relic'd basses. Tuned to Eb 4. Fender Aerodyne Jazz - has been slightly modded with Seymour Duncan STK-J2B Bridge Pickup, Graph-tech Nut and have taken out the tone control and covered the hole. Tuned to Drop-C 5. Rack - I use this for when i do the occational big gig with the GK rig. Furman PL-Plus Power Conditioner, Korg DTR-2000, Shure U4S Wireless, Yamaha SPX-90 FX. 5.1 Line 6 Bass POD Pro - I use this for rehearsals (plug this into house rig) Can get a similar GK tone with Distortion and Chorus which i use live. 6. Tower of Power and Lakland - This is my dream rig. I've not had a gig to justify it yet (Wembley hasn't phoned) but who cares? We have a Gallien Krueger 2001rb head with 2 x GK 410RBH cabs. Korg Pitchblack tuner and Lakland, oh and my trust Monster Cable. Thanks for looking!

When i tech'd for a friend i used the Peterson 490r and 590r tuners. These are the analogue ones as opposed to the virtual ones. They take a while to get used to, but they are the mutts for accuracy. Although i know alot of players have a peterson in the rack for pre-gig and setups, but a korg on the pedal board for speed in-between songs.
Hello chaps, I'm planning in buying the Peterson VS-R rack tuner and just wanted to know if anyone on here uses one and what's your experience of it? I think that I'm scared of the transition from your typical needle type tuner to strobe. Any opinions? Cheers Jack
Quite possibly... I use a Bass POD Pro. The old school rack-mount one with a more hands on interface. I haven't had any issues with it. You can pick these up for around £120-£150 (possibly one on this forum) I know these are used by loads of session musicians in the studio. Other than that you're looking at the SansAmp or even a Rocktron Blue Thunder?
Am I the only one in the UK that uses a Bass PODxt in a live situation ?
Duff Mckagan Bass. How wide is the nut?
chriswilliams666 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Bass Guitars
Its different to how the subs feel. Mine feels just like a lacquered 62 jazz bass neck.
That was the main reason i got rid of my Sub. Hmmm, hadnt thought about this.
-
Lakland 44-75 (that's the DJ replacement) mock up
chriswilliams666 replied to EssentialTension's topic in Bass Guitars
I work at a Former-Lakland Dealer. The distributor Headline (PRS) are no longer doing it, and looking at the Lakland site it says GuitarGuitar are the new distributor. And they have LOADS in stock!
It is. Check the upper horn. DJ4: 44-75: I don't there's any reason to think distribution will change. The former Chief Operations Officer (John Pirruccello) is now the Chief Executive Officer - so although Dan Lakin has gone I expect it's pretty much business as usual.
-

How much for UK mainland postage?
Hi all, I'm using a Little Mark II, and (touch wood) i fully trust it, so am getting rid of my back up. Used this for 2 years before the Markbass, and never let me down once, it's very versatile and has got far too many features to list!! http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/BX4500H.aspx New price is around £ 200 mark, i'll let this go for £ 80.00 + p&p. Cheers all Rik
Duff Mckagan Bass. How wide is the nut?
chriswilliams666 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Bass Guitars
The Japanese one comes with standard Fender Jap pickups, not the Duncans. If you send me an email to i have some really good hi-res images of the Jap ones. (i will forward them when i'm not on the work computer) These aren't brought into the UK through Fender due to the obvious resemblence to the Duff Bass. I Think the Jap one will be more faithful to my original '85 one. It is very hard to find detailed spec to these but i think i have them somewhere. The Stock Alnico V Pickup is ok. But i have swapped all mine out for '62 Reissue PUPs as these are the pickup Duff actually asked for in his Custom Shop basses. Presumably not used to keep cost/spec down? The newer pickup sounds much rounder and a bit more high-end sparkle.
Ah right, thanks. Then its back on the list. And it makes sense to have the jazz pup a bit hotter i guess. Do you know if the MIJ version the same? Its cheaper but there isnt a lot of info on the website posted above. And im not really up on all the Fender models. I love Alnico V pups and would probably put a Fralin P in it at some point. Cheers.
-
Duff Mckagan Bass. How wide is the nut?
chriswilliams666 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Bass Guitars
The Duff bass doesnt have Quarter Pounders. It has a stock Fender pickup in the P-Position and an Seymour Duncan STK-J2B in the Jazz Bridge Position. It's not as aggressive as you may think. The Jazz Pickup has a slightly higher output then normal Jazzers, this makes the volume of the two roughly the same. Still worth considering i reckon!
Cheers Chris, that will help. Seeing as i dont like SDQP pups i think the duff version is off the list.
