1. I have an original 80s Jazz Special and the new Duff one and the new one has a totally different shape neck to it. Much closer to a P-Bass. I will measure mine when i get back too, i also have the Aerodyne so can compare that as well.
Cheers guys. Seems liek the neck will be fine. Sean, thanks for that link. Ive heard about this shop but never bothered looking for it. looking through their stock i think i now prefer the Aerodyne Jazz Bass with pick guard. I have a feeling the Duff bass will be a bit too aggressive sounding.
2. I meant the engineer! but...
If you're referring to mr BudgetBassist, I think he's drunk in that one
3. Very cool. I'd put a P Pickup in the neck position. Get rid of that Mustang thing! lol
I've knocked this up from various images, and photoshop. Some say if God played a bass it'd be this one, and that Hugh Hefner once turned down 12 bunny girls to be in a room with one.... All we know is... it's my fantasy bass. C'mon Fender, make it happen.
5. Might pop down. Will look out for a dodgy hand!
Fountain was shaky for a couple of gigs - money being changed without notice - but words were spoken and last time we were there it all went well. Swan was a bit of a let down last time. Cheers this Friday, though with Damien from Long Way standing in for me after the op on my hand last week. I shall probably go along anyway to see how it should be done
6. Ive done gigs before when we've done that. Its a good idea for saving stage space or when you forget the stand. But ya know, that guy can't be assed. No offence!
Is it me or has that mic got a real ' I can't be arsed' sort looking attitude, they it's just slumped over the rig.
7. Next time you do, you should sell it on BassChat. Had a look on Ebay and you can get 25mm wide x 1m Long for £9.49 inc Postage. I think thats pretty good! These are also brilliant for uber tidy cabling on pedal boards - Self Adhesive Cable Clips
Totally. Pricey though, unless it accidentally gets ordered through work.
8. That's awesome! To cheap for a stand too!
PA man must have been too That mic's mic'ing a piece of wood.....
9. Actually one of the bar-maids is quite tasty. Always a bonus!
I thought the same. It looks alright, don't you think? Do they do chicken in a basket?
10. The decor is ok. It's the Zombies that roam the place.
I wish the hell holes round here looked even half that nice...
11. Definately agree with Chris there. I wacked a BadAss on an old squier. It definately enhanced the top-end and also i was in a Drop C Tuning, and the old-school Fender saddles moved about. The BadAss doesn't budge!
Badass gives more top end. If that's important to you, don't economise. If it's not, get the Gotoh Chris
12. You are so correct. Lakland's are flawless and consistent. I have played some new Fenders that have rivaled a Lakland, but they are STILL Hit and Miss. I think the Dunn and Glaub are similar apart from the Neck? I love the feel of the Jazz neck on my Dunn.
Have to say that my favourite Precision is my Bob Glaub, too. I've got a Duck Dunn incoming (can't wait!), too, based upon the quality and playability of the Bob Glaub. The thing that did it for me (and maybe I was just lucky) is that the 3 Bob Glaub's I've played have been almost identical in quality and tone. I wish I could say that about all of the Fender's I've owned....
13. Most recent pictures taken at some hell-hole in Billingshurst.
 14. 3 more sold BUMP!
PM and Bump
15. 3 more sold BUMP!
PM and Bump
16. Why is this still here? What a bargain. I would of snapped this up by now as it is what i need, although i'm currently £350 short.
I got it for a good price so I'm happy to pass that on...
17. If only it was trans Red.
Ok, Pictures! Full shot: The biggest bit of damage and the beautiful quilting along the neck-thru stripe. Some more paint damage to the back of the bass. The stunning neck, which has somehow managed to avoid the damage the body's managed to pick up. Looking at this, you'd think it was in pristine condition. The other big bit of damage, looks like it's been scraped over something and rather than chip the paint, it's kinda scraped it. Showing another bump to the top of the bass, the different bridge and more beautiful quilting.
18. Definately look into the Lakland Skyline series. In my opinion they are the best for Fender style basses, for playability, sound and quality (and i work for a Fender dealer!)
perhaps the endorsee deals are with the old company and new ones need to be drawn up under the new company details? If so then this should be temporary unless there's some savings to be made. Bit pants that they are using numbers instead of names. Glad in a way as I have to be frank inthat I don't know who half their endorsees are so it would be bizarre to me to buy a bass with someone's name on it and don't know who they are. It can't be far off time for me to experiment with Lakland, Sadowsky et al as they are the few bass companies that I have never tried their products
19. Hows your Japanese?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Squier-JV-62-RI-Vint...=item3cacadc684 Excerpt from the description: Classic
20. Have just been on Lakland's Site and they have no more signature models. They are all code based now. I know Darryl Jones was no longer affiliated with Lakland, but they are all gone Scheff, Duck Dunn, Joe Osbourne. I know it sucks paying the artists royalties, but at the end of the day they sell instruments for them. Anyone know whats happening? PS. Does this make my Duck Dunn Bass worth more?
 21. bank holiday bump
Would also accept a Radial Bigshot ABY + Cash my way.
22. I know i'm too late but its worth trying 3M Dual Lock. Its what the pro-rig makers use in the states ala Bob Bradshaw and Dave Freidman.
Homebase was the answer! Popped down the road, £12.99 for a 50mmx1m Roll of proper velcro. Not the cheapest stuff, but it's bloody sticky!
23. Ive never seen an angled one either. Must be one of Lemmys cast-offs!
Interesting one - Ebay Marshall 4x15 cab fitted with Turbosound LS1507 speakers. Should sound huge but the weight will be a killer! I've never seen an angled 4x15 only the straight ones before. Seems a good price for a rarity. Andy
24. Good luck dude. If i was local i'd come and spy on you playing this song! haha.
Well, I've spent a good hour on it , and am 90% there. I'll bluff it a bit(or is that Duff) on sat. once I've got the gig out the way, I'll have sorted good and proper. Thanks to all ,for your kind help
25. I have a Lakland DD and i want one of these, but i just can't let go of my Lakland! I wish i had £550! Good luck with the sale, she's a beaut!
Agreed...just bought a 62 MIJ P off John at Far East...quality bit of kit and light as a feather...
