GK Diesel Dawg or MXR M-80 is the best from what i've heard.
Make sure you hear the distortion in the mix of the band rather than on its own through your amp. What sounds farty unaccompanied can sound fantastic in the mix. Strange but true.
Guns &Roses sweet child of mine
chriswilliams666 replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
Enjoy it. I'm a big duff fan and love playing this tune. Definately use a bit of chorus!
How close you want to get...? I wouldn't bother tuning down myself... you have the 5, but then I wouldn't bother nicking his parts either. Depends how serious you want to get about the song and how often you'll get to play it after the work you have to put in.
-

Would also accept a Radial Bigshot ABY + Cash my way.
Hey guys I have a immaculate Korg PX4D and Official Korg Power Supply which cost me £99 and £20 respectively. I consider this to be the ultimate learning/practise tool. Only selling as a now have everything laptop based. I would like £69 for unit and power supply. I have the box (somewhere) Will try and dig it out. I would consider trades for a 300-500 watt @ 4 ohms Power Amp or Bass Amp Head (preferably 2u Rack based)
-

I think Fender Precisions all the way, with Flatwound Strings? Not sure on amps possibly Sunn or Acoustic from what i've seen online. Found this on wikipedia hereHere is what you need to learn. Good luck... ACT 1 * Innuendo – Freddie Mercury and ensemble * Radio Ga Ga – Ga Ga Kids * I Want to Break Free – Galileo * I Want to Break Free (reprise) – Scaramouche * Somebody to Love – Scaramouche and Teen Queens * Killer Queen – Killer Queen and Yuppies * Play the Game – Killer Queen and Yuppies * Death On Two Legs* (instrumental) * Under Pressure – Galileo and Scaramouche * A Kind of Magic – Killer Queen, Khashoggi and Yuppies * Here Comes Santa! / Don't Stop Me Now - Ga Ga Kids * I Want It All – Brit and Meat * Headlong – Brit, Meat, Galileo and Scaramouche * No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young) – Meat and Bohemians * Crazy Little Thing Called Love* – Brit, Meat, Galileo, Scaramouche and Bohemians * Ogre Battle (instrumental) ACT 2 * One Vision/Radio Ga Ga (reprise) – Ga Ga Kids * Who Wants to Live Forever – Galileo and Scaramouche * Flash – Bohemians * Seven Seas of Rhye – Khashoggi and Bohemians * Fat Bottomed Girls* – Killer Queen and Sex Yuppies * Don't Stop Me Now (reprise) – Killer Queen * Another One Bites the Dust – Killer Queen * Hammer to Fall – Galileo and Scaramouche * These Are the Days of Our Lives – Pop and Bohemians * Bicycle Race* – Bohemians * Headlong (reprise)* – Galileo, Scaramouche and Pop * Brighton Rock solo* (instrumental) * Tie Your Mother Down* (instrumental) * We Will Rock You – Galileo and Bohemians * We Are the Champions – Galileo and ensemble * We Will Rock You (fast version) – Ensemble * Bohemian Rhapsody – Entire cast
Haha if I'm honest I've never played any Queen (I f***ing hate Queen) and I've only just been asked to do it. I was wondering what songs I'd need to learn and more importantly how to achieve the tone of who ever Queen's bass player is/was.
Everything you need to know about these particular guitars. Will also consider swapping for 45-105 Strings, preferably Stainless Steel Roto RS66ld, but try me! I have been informed that my price was a little realistic as these are £11 at amazon. I have changed my price to £15 for both. These will cost me about £4 to post. Its not worth me selling for less, so i will keep them if no takers. Thanks for looking!

Interested in any trades?
I have two T-Bone (Thomann house brand) in-ear monitor systems. These are fab units and me and the singer have used them for the past couple of years. They have 16 selectable channels and you can use up to four systems at a time. They operate on UK safe UHF frequencies (forget whether the correct terms is license free or deregulated). They faithfully reproduce a decent full range of the sound spectrum but obvoisuly the quality of sound you get is reliant on the phones you plug into them. I used them initiallly with Shure E3c then Shure SCL-3 phones with the yellow foam tips and found them to be great. I wouldn't go so far as gigging without an amp, as I still felt you need the physical presence of the bass sound, if that makes sense, but it made a huge difference to be able to clearly hear every nuance of your playing and if you sing, these are invaluable. Also, using IEMs with decent phones will protect your hearing if you're playing in a loud environment. Inputs are mic/instrument combi jack/xlr and line stereo phono l/r. There's a jack out on the front for wired monitoring and front controls are for mic, line and headphone volume. On the revceiver there is headphone and recording outs (1/8") as well as on/off switch and volume control. Channel selection is a micro-control best done with a small screwdriver or the tip of a pick but that was almost always set and forget. Receiver takes a pair of AA batteries and a decent set of duracells will last 4 hours or more. These are well used but have always been stored side by side in a rack unit. They're in good used condition and cosmetically there's some scratches to the black casing but nothing terminal. Each system includes transmittter, receiver and PSU and will come with original box. Pic for refernce only, will try to get a pic of actual units if anyone wants them. Drop me a PM or give me a call on 07515 929935
I'm not sure. All i know is that the lead singer is a regular customer of ours, and they have both purchased recording stuff from us for writing. We'll see i suppose.
Is that the material he's been 'currently writing' for the last three years which has consisted of one song (not written by Foxton and written in 2008) called Later Day?
BUMP - Will accept trade/swap against desktop recording units or Line 6 Bass PODs.
-
I started on 6-string and played that for years. When i started playing bass i bought a Fender Classic 50s Precision In Black (changed the guard to Black as i'd seen Bruce Foxton play) that cost me about £300 of eBay. My amp was a Trace Elliot AH250 through an Ashdown 4x10 and 1x15. I borrowed the Trace off a mate, when he wanted it back i used my old guitar amp a Carlsbro 100CS, an old 100w valve head from '63. Can't remember the price of the Carlsbro, but the Ashdown Cabs cost me £200 for both. I regret selling the P-Bass as it played better then any basses i've owned, but it had a very large neck which i couldn't get on with.

I can't believe someone purchased that for £58! I'm assuming you could "whip" the fretboard off and replace the truss rod, but i personally cannot be f****d on a bass of that value. Gear 4 Music will be laughing all the way to the bank. That is one of their own branded guitars, and probably cost them £20-£30 to import.
Gear4Music 2nds. On some international forums people say how they bought some "2nd" which has a few inconsequential scratches or something. But when Gear4Music sells a second, it always seems that there's some serious sh*t wrong with them.
