1. Hey there. I love the GK Distortion in my amp. You can here it used on the intro to this Jam Session with Duff Mckagan - He is using the GK2001RB which has the same distortion as there Diesel Dawg Pedal, and Backline Amps. He has also said that he has used the MXR M-80 and Z-Vex Wooly Mammoth in the studio.
 2. Hey Guys I have ruined two sets of GK casters in my gigging years and would like to find a retro-fit replacement, if there is such a thing. Anybody know of any that will fit my 410RBH cabs without having to modify the cab. My cabs sell new for over £700, and the casters seem to be the same whatever GK range you buy from.
 3. These are awesome basses. Ive got a couple of there younger brother, the Jazz Bass Special. Basically the same as this one but with an added jazz pickup, tbx control and jazz neck. Although i thought these were made a little later?
Im not a fender expert so I dont know if its entirely original or if the price is good, but I do like the look of it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FENDER-P-BASS-PB551-...=item4cee489a32
5. That Blue is amazing!
Blueburst Fretless Jazz.
6. Im sure i can get round to that.
AAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH.GAS ATTACK I do'nt suppose i could trouble you for a Jazz too ?
7. This will be a challenge! You could probably build it quicker, but will give it a go!
OK, here's one I've actually got a genuine order for in the last couple of days. Jaguar outline body, ebony dot neck - Jazz profile, standard Jazz pickup configuation (EMGs), standard Jazz control plate (carrying J-retro circuit), parchment pickguard taking up the shape of a Jazzmaster after the controlplate (no switches). Candy apple red with matching headstock. Badass bridge.
8. Cos i cant do a Pacific Blueburst at the moment, hear is a "Nearly Teal" Green.
Fantastic skills! How about a Fender P bass with rosewood neck, block inlays in transparent Teal Green or Pacific Blueburst with a black pickguard?
9. Not really. I just google bass parts, but mainly use Fenders site. They have decent images of most of there range. Nothing fancy to it really!
I'm interested in the process of how you design these. Presumably you have a collection of separate transparent images of bodies, necks, bridges etc, which you then assemble and line up - is that right? S.P.
10. Here you go HD!
How about a Dukes of Hazzard Precision, rosewood, tort ?
11. When i get bored i design my dream basses in Photoshop. I do some for my friends too. Thought i'd share them with you guys too! One day i will get one built... Obviously they are Fender style basses. If anyone out there has a wish list, but no funds and would like to see what there custom build may look like let me know. I'll see what i can do!
 12. Hey guys I have this DVD - Link to Jaco DVD It is un-opened as I'm not a fan. (I know, I know) But someone is welcome to it for £15! Most shops sell it at £26- £30.
 13. Can someone point me in the right direction for buying some 45-105 high tension strings? I am struggling to find them, and this is exactly what I am looking for too!
If you're looking to tune down long-term, and want to set your bass up accordingly, I can't recommend Newtone Strings enough. When my band FSOF was playing in Drop C exclusively, I had two basses set up in Drop C standard (C, F, Bb, Eb) with their High Tension strings. The extra tension meant that I could have my strings in normal guages 45-105, and a low action too, nothing flapping or buzzy! Just to re-iterate, I used 45-105 guages in Drop C Standard with pretty normal action. The only negative with high tension strings is that Newtone taylor them to the tuning you want, so although you'd probably be able to take them up to Drop D standard, getting them to E standard would probably make them too tight to play comfortablely. This obvisuly isn't an issue if you're in Drop C all the time. Si
14. That is stunning with the black guard. Would go nicely next to my Duck Dunn, but funds permit me from purchasing. Someone is gonna get a corker of a bass for a bargain price. Good luck with the sale.
Picked this up to use as my rehearsal bass but something else came up recently that I'd had my eyes on for while and I just couldn't resist it! I'm sure if you're reading this then you know all about the Lakland Skyline DJ4 so I won't go into lots of detail here (can supply if anyone wants more info of course). This particular one has the original Aero pickups as specified by Darryl Jones - personally I prefer these to either the Fralins that some have or the Lakland in-house models most new ones have but that's purely subjective. Pretty much every DJ I've played / heard has been really nice, can't fault the Lakland Skyline quality control system. It's been nicely set up with a low action and is really easy to play, medium weight & downsized J shape body make it great for longer rehearsals or gigs. One nice touch is that it comes with the original guard plus 2 Jeannie's options so you can play around with the look in a matter of minutes. It's currently wearing the red tort version, which I really like, but I've added pics with all three guards in place (the black and white are just laid over the red so might look slightly 'raised'). Since buying this I've also sourced a genuine Lakland hard case for it so I'll throw that in as part of the deal as well Overall in very good condition, few surface swirls here & there but the slight sparkle in the finish obscures these really. Couple of very small dings on the lower headstock at the rear but, again, hardly noticeable. Happy to ship anywhere but not looking for PX deals on this one as I really am trying to 'downsize' my collection and I've already got something new heading my way this week. . .
15. What will the second hand market be like for these at retail stores? Reckon we'll ever see one? New Old Stock? Relic'd Relics? Relic'd Roadworns? When will it end?
Clearly not, there's a small dint on the headstock. Some people
16. Unfortunately i do not have the funds. But can i be the first to ask if this is as new condition? lol
Ok, this turned out to be an unsuccessful buy for me, bought approx 3 weeks ago brand new. Great bass, the nearest Jazz I've played (and I've played a lot) to the genuine '64 that was in the Gallery last year, and that was over £4k. As many will know I don't usually go a bundle on Jazz basses but this is as nice a one as I've played and really does capture that vintage vibe. I was sold on the looks, general feel and vintage-style tone; there's a certain job that Jazzes do very well (JPJ and Gary Thain for me!) and I fancied one in my arsenal. I a/b-d this against another Road Worn and this was far better. Sadly I convinced myself to ignore the issues I have with the forearm contour on Fenders, but a very painful rehearsal tonight, whatever height I played the bass at, has convinced me of the error of my ways and so I'm parting with it only 3 weeks in. My loss means someone will get a virtually new bass (that has been confirmed to have no issues!) at a knock-down price. Re the "no issues" thing above; when I bought it and got it home it turned out there was an issue with the trussrod, which was maxed out. It immediately went back to Fender who changed the neck and did a full set up (and apparently a light fret dress) on it. Everything is fine now; neck straight as a die. Comes with gigbag & documents (which haven't even been opened). Looking for £699 firm, and not really looking for trades with the possible exception of something interesting Rickenbacker-wise (with cash difference from me). Here are some pics:
17. Hey Dude Am I the only one who likes the '87 Jazz Special? If you ever part with it, i want first dibs! haha PS. Is it the one with the black painted neck? - i have an identical one in all black.
Cheers chaps! Yep, the Wal's are really great - I LOVE them...... but I may have to sell the Wenge one as I may need a large amount of money quite quickly in the near future.... If anyone's interested please PM me with realistic offers over £2k... Purpleblob/Gary Mac - you can NEVER have too many basses! As you can see! lol! Tayste - the Schecter blew me away when I purchased it.... the tone is pure in-your-face hi-mid grind (perfect for rock) but it is capable of being tamed very easily... a bit of a revelation really! Geilerbass - yep, the Axe/Punisher don't get played live with the KISS tribute.... I wouldn't want to scratch/stain them - especially as the Punisher is #007 (#'s 001-006 are owned/played by Gene himself) and the Axe is one of the original ones (not the new Cort reissues - one of which I will be getting soon as an endorsee )
18. Hey there Quite like the look of this. What sort of price are these new? I haven't seen them for sale in the UK? Im assuming as they're digital, they're fine to use?
Well the story is that my Dad and I wanted one each of these, and so did a friend of ours. So we did a group buy and then our friend backed out, so basically we have a brand new in box never used X2 wireless system just sitting around! It's the pedalboard version (although my dad just places his on top of his amp and it works fine). It's currently on eBay (Item no. 150422878386) with a £130 BIN. Message me on eBay beforehand informing me that you're a BC'er and I'll include postage in the BIN price. Cheers
19. Sorry it is sold.
I'll ask my friend. He's looking for some quality P pickup... Are you willing to post internationally?
20. Bump, still for sale and would take a swap for a Line 6 Bass POD PRO or Line 6 Bass POD XT Live.
Pm sent
21. ALNICO / D.C. =11K- , By keeping the two coils under two strings, this design minimises hum while retaining the clarity and transparency of a singlecoil since there is no phase cancellation. It has ceramic magnets which provides a brighter, more focused sound when compared to the PBV-1 vintage version. Black covers and screws included.
 22. You will always be welcome in the GK family dude. When you get GAS again, you know it makes sense to back to GK!
Many thanks for the interest everyone, but this sold today to the Gumtree guy. But maaaaan it was hard letting it go, played it all biamped up to show him and it sounded sooooo damn good.
23. Nice to see a Thumb Rest in a place that can actually be used. In my opinion anyway!
That Jazz was mine before Rasta and it was a lovely player and looked gorgeous but I just don't like the sound of Jazz's despite several attempts now!
24. have you considered making your own? Ive made some pretty killer patch cables for an ok price. You can get the parts pretty easy on ebay and make them all to your spec.
Hi, I guess the most common cables I see on guy's FX boards are those 6-in-a-pack multi-coloured ones. I'm sure they do the job, but would spending a little more be worth it? Thomann & MusicStore seem to carry mostly Klotz, Cordial, Monster & Planet Waves (for pretty hefty prices), along with the cheap & cheerful own-brand stuff. If the connectors in the PW DIY kit weren't so fat, I'd consider those, but even before I have my new board & some pedals, I think I want slimmer/neater connectors. I have Klotz TM Stevens instrument cables, but TBH, they fail way too easy, so I don't want those. I like the look of some of Ibanez's patch cables (not an obvious player in the cable market?) - have any of you guys come across them anywhere online? No local dealers carry them. http://www.ibanez.co.jp/world/country/frame_uk.html Thanks, Mark
