1.
Neil, I am definitely interested in the bass. Please send me your contact info to: [email protected] Thanks, Pavel
Hi Pavel, sorry but I sold the bass to another 'basschatter' last night. All the best, Neil.
2. I am venturing into the world of the 5 string and so need to move on one of my basses. This is a really nice bass that I only recently aquired but I cannot justify having so many instruments lying around in their cases wasting away. Can't part with my other basses so this one will have to be the one that is sold. Bass is in mint condition. 3 band eq. Original Musicman hard case included in the sale. Not sure of the age but I would think it's relatively new. No dings or dents or buckle rash. Hopefully the photos give you the info that you need. Feel free to ask any questions. Will be able to let this go for £640 ono. I can probably deliver in most areas of central England or Wales. (Sorry, no part ex deals as I am funding my new 5 string.) Neil.
3. Chris, Did I see a photo of this bass with a fretless neck at some stage? I'm interested in another P bass and one with a J pickup might be just the thing. Neil.
4. Nice '57 Chris. BTW, if you're having a clearout I'd perhaps be interested in the fretless with the J pickup! Neil.
5.
Back for Sale £1200.00
I wondered what had happened to this one. Will it be making an appearance at the Bass Bash coming up? Neil.
6. All the other basses are just imitations! I like other basses but I love Precisions. No fancy EQ. Just big chunky simplicity. They just sound right to me. I think every bass player should try one at some stage. Whatever the gig a P bass can do the job. Plus they always look sooo cool!

More P Basses
Very nice indeed ! Does the fretless have a "B" neck profile ? - looks a wee bit narrower than the 57.
The fretless is narrower probably. Not sure if it's a B though. The '57 is pretty wide. Took some getting used to after a very skinny necked Warwick!

More P Basses
I dont know if its possible. but have you tried swapping the necks?
No I haven't tried that but I have wondered about getting a 70's fretted neck for the fretless to see how it sounds. Neil.
9. These are my '78 fretless with EMG pickups and my new US made '57 re-issue. The fretless is pretty heavy but is a beast (in a good way) and the '57 is probably the bass I would keep if I could only have one. Still looking out for a nice old P Bass. Just not found the one yet. Neil.
10. Very nice basses. I'm inspired enough to post my own! Neil.
11. This bass is my 1998 Warwick Streamer LX 4 String. This is still the best looking one I've come across but it isn't getting played so much since I got my Fender P Bass. Very versatile bass. In nicely played-in condition but no dings or dents. Gold hardware has dulled down a bit (but looks better for that I think). Wenge neck and board. Neck is nice and slim and nothing like the newer chunky Warwick necks. I would prefer to sell (offers around £600 ish) but may consider trade or part ex on the right Stingray or maybe even a 6 string. Thanks for looking. Happy to answer any questions etc. Neil
12. Hi Steve Is this still around? Neil.
13. Is this still around Richard? If so, what sort of money would you be looking for? Neil
14. I used an Ashdown ABM head for a few years and it was always absolutely fine. I did use it with a Warwick bass so the brightness of the bass compensated for any wooliness. Also the pre shape is IMHO a waste of time. It's a tone-killer switch to my ears! I also generally used the eq to add in some mids and high end and the gain needs to be up fairly high with most basses. Neil.
15. I have used 3 basses with my main band - a Warwick, a Sadowsky Metro and a Precision - over the last 5 years and I always seem to sound like me. I think they are all pretty different in terms of tone and feel but my band hardly notice the difference. Or if they do they never comment! I have also recently changed amp with the same result. New gear can sometimes keep me enthused about playing the same old set but usually the novelty quickly wears off. I think I'm going to stick with what I have for now and use any spare cash for some lessons. I'm gonna try anyway..... Marcus Miller is one of my bass heroes and his website says he has owned over 50 basses. Quote - 'I've owned at least fifty basses but I usually play a 77 Fender Jazz bass'. I guess he can use what he wants these days but he usually plays that 77 Jazz for 90% of stuff. Another quote from the Marcus Miller website - 'the most important thing is to settle on a bass then commit to it. Get to know your bass inside and out and play it in every situation you can'. I know I'm lucky to have got to the stage where I have some nice gear but I've heard some killer bass players with frankly pretty ropey old basses and amps. I also have a sticker on my computer that says 'don't surf - practice'. Anyway gotta go...

Rumple

I met Dave a couple of days ago to complete the sale of an Ashdown amp head. I felt that Dave was a very genuine guy and a pleasure to do business with (well, he is a bass player!). I think my amp will be very happy with it's new owner. All the best Dave. Neil.
17. My favourite 6 stringer would have to be Gerald Veasley. Pretty much in the jazz bracket but gets funky with it too. www.geraldveasley.com Good luck with the 6. Neil.
18. I am thinking about selling my Warwick Streamer LX (bolt-on) 4 string. This is a really nice one but I am using my Sadowsky bass more these days so I thought I'd see if anyone were interested. It is a 1998 model with a really nice slim neck - much slimmer than the current models. I haven't seen the going rate for these basses in recent times so I would be open to offers. Neil.
19. This is the latest version of my rig. The Bergantino cabinets have been great over a few years now and I'm enjoying the simplicity of the Aguilar head. Neil.
