7. it is a very good price mate - the market is just so slow - tough and tougher times
8. This is a really nice bass which combines what many might consider are some of the finer components of bass building, to create a Fender Jazz Bitsa that arguably can outplay a factory made Fender. Ok, so I bought it off Popolaris here on BC for the same price it's up for now. It has: MIJ precision neck - lovely block maple and sweet low action Badass bridge Wizard 64 jazz picks ups - anyone knows their stuff they know Wizard are a class act and the creme de la thingy, it has a John East Preamp, which alone costs up to £200. The East preamp offers a wide tonal palette that allows you to dial in beefy P tones to growly scoopy jazz. The only thing I'm not sure of is the body wood - possibly Alder. Usually £15 incl some insurance. More than happy to do some better photos for any interest.
9. Not averse to relicing, generally, but this is just disastrous. http://www.warwick.d...er&page=0&cl=EN

11.
I kind-of agree. It's a great tone, but there's nothing mystical about it. It's great because of the production - records aren't mixed like this any more.
This is interesting to me - in what way? Also, it was actually a random live recording of Zep in concert I was referring to originally, not one of their recorded albums - nonetheless, I'm interested in your comment re mixing as it's something I can speak with little authority about!
12. Fair Deal Music - opposite New Street station - probs not the best tho - Guitar Guitar and PMT are bus/car/15 min walk away
13. Played with a pick also on some it seems
14. Well I've got some flatwounds -
15. Cheers. Well, great tone - I see the re-issues in the States are somewhere around $4,000!
16. Trawling through some YouTube vids of the mighty Zeppelin today and amazed, even on YT, at the bass tone Jones has. He's playing a jazz in most of the ones I watched from early 70's live shows - anyone idea what sort of rig he was using back then?
17. Cheers Spoom I'll give them a whirl
