1. Nice - is there any/much neck dive?
2. I had a Berg 4x10 and had to sell due to tax bill!! Incredibly heavy, but a fab sound that I really miss
3. Just back from an awesome performance tonight from Feist. If you haven't already, check her/them out. Any ideas what the bass is the guy uses? (this wasn't the gig btw) Nice woody tone https://www.facebook...&type=3
4.
Even though I like iPhone's and iPod's, I agree with what you are saying. Its nothing against the instrument or Dingwall, its just something I 'get' from reading about them. More so with Fodera.
But PC's are crap tho yeah?
5. I've been struggling the last few months with my TC rig - it just didn't seem to produce anything I could appreciate - okay rehearsal room conditions and all that - (and my playing!!) but it didn't feel like I could get any sort of decent sound. Few weeks back bought a Yamaha 5er with modded EMG pick ups and in he recordings of last rehearsal, the bass seems so clear and articulate. How is that? Do pick certain ups match amps? I guess?
6. how long have you had tp learn the set then? couple of weeks? good going man
7.
If the meter is so sensitive that the audience can set the thing off then there's nothing the band can do! These things can be adjusted but I've no idea how you do that.
saw a band recently where there was a limiter - they tried sticking gaffa over the sensor. Did nothing! It was a night mare for them.
8. what's the ball park Eric?
9. Be sure to let us know when the GAS strikes -
10. I use an Ibanez Roadster made in 1980 - time flies but that's actually quite a few years ago!! Still feels like it was made yesterday - so well put together and so far so good, no crackles, dodgy wires - just lovely Japanese craftsmanship
11.
I have an Ibanez Blazer too. How does the neck on the Warwick compare to the Blazer's, would you say? What's the width at the nut? Steve
hi steve approx 38 mm -( eyes not what they were!!) = very fast and playable
12.
PM'd you
replied
13. Not sure tbh - I guess just the market forcing prices down - gear on here takes some time to shift these days and the seller has to work out what's best for them I guess - sell, somehow, or hold out for a more realistic price??
14.
WHAT! Whats with all the cheap wicks! oh to be a righty.
well sure it's worth FAR more , but in the spirit of BC I am selling for the price I came across it at -
15. Bought this off the forum a few weeks back. Here is the original thread . http://basschat.co.u...andard-passive/ Yes it's a bit nicked here and there, but it plays great. I personally find the Warwick body too small and light. It doesn't 'sit' with me the way I like a bass to. But that's only personal, and for the price with it's lovely slim wenge fingerboard and sonic growls, it's an absolute bargain. When I got it there was an issue with the pick up blend control cutting in and out. This is now sorted and was a question of pulling up and securing the pot stem that the knob sits on tighter into the hole and securing the nut. It now works as it should. Will meet within reasonable distance - or buyer pays p&p.
16. Have bought from John before - trustworthy and good comms
17. He doesn't seem to have a got a mention, but enjoyed Bernhard Lackner's masterclass -
18.
I struggled to get about today on crutches but managed to get a considerable amount of shots here they are: https://picasaweb.go...&mode=SLIDESHOW
So I must have been standing almost next to you GW - as I remember watching that lady having her photo taken with John Paul J
19. Not long back from attending today - the atmosphere was okay I thought. Yes, lots of nasty low rumbling frequencies being squashed either side by snappy slappers - but bearable. Tbh, not an event, IMO, that's conducive really to sitting down and trying anything. Saw John Paul Jones - no chance of me queuing up for a photo with him, but a quick snap to record I was in the presence of greatness Youngest son won a Taurus pedal - determined to look suitably unimpressed for their publicity shots!!
20. Great guy to deal with - his reputation preceeds him on here and I wasn't disappointed! Prompt payment and excellent comms. Top cat.
21. I wonder though how much we'd chop and change the way some of us seem to do on here if the Internet had never come along - I think forums such as BC and a million others in different walks of life ( ie EBay et al) just enable that immediacy of change and trade etc ???????
22. I'm in Chapelfields, south west - 15 mins from M42 interchange section bit - very easy to get to
23.
Now thats tempting. Missus would kill me though......or would she......
what are you? man or mouse?
