1. i think on here you get brought up proper and inherit a good set of values - BC rocks (as it should of course)
2. well Wikipedia says: Ebonol is an artificial material similar to ebony (Diospyros crassiflora), a black wood from Africa, which sometimes includes grey streaks. Ebonol is commonly used in place of ebony in the construction of stringed instruments, like fretless bass fingerboards, because it is easy to work with and resistant to forming grooves from roundwound strings. Ebonol is technically known as "XXX Paper Phenolic", and is a paper-based high pressure laminate made from layers of black paper and phenolic resin. so there ye go
3. bump for a great guitar at great price
4. cool - btw is it passive?
5. can u describe as much as poss the tones of the SB played finger style - ie. with right pick up combination, smooth, mellow, dark? Or no chance
6. hey lovely pj - is the J pick up sourced from vintage stock or a more modern one? when was it added do you know? how do the two sound together?
7. Okay, so the wife's back on Friday from working abroad and I really can't let her see the stack that's growing in the bedroom. (ooh er) So... Great bass, that is only weeks old - Bought it for £220, and you can own it for £160 collected, or £175 posted in UK. I've just put some different strings on, aside from that, it's mint - no gigging, no rehearsal. Still has the plastic film still the pick ups and the bar code on the back! The ebonal fingerboard is fast and true. It's a lovely sounding thing, but a bit too modern sounding for my ears. The eq seems pretty darn decent and I know there's a lot of respect for the new Squier models on here, and this doesn't disappoint for sheer quality build and finish at such a low price - look at the neat join on the neck and body. Active threeband EQ with slap switch and a one-piece maple neck with ebonol fingerboard. Only interested in a sale thanks. Am in Coventry. Thanks
8. can't get a definitive weight off my scales, but the ernie ball site says on average 9lbs
9.
I knew someone would comment! It's actually the bottom of my ribcage, not that your going to believe me.. I don't have a big bloaty stomach anymore, I've lost 3 1/2 stone in a year! Damn it! Maybe I won't wear it to the pub this evening!!
yeah but no but, sorry for any offence!!! wear it with pride.
10.
Same here! Same colour, but my 2 month old daughter burst into tears when she saw it. I guess she was overcome with emotions by the sight of such a beautiful shirt... (me, distracted by the Le Mans 24hr bikes)
does it come with built in stomach?!
11. not that fussed with the B tbh - more about playing further up the neck where, to me anyway, it always sounds shweet
12. why does the passiveness annoy you? not enuf output?
13. This is a beauty for sure - only issue is a slight scuff mark right on the very top of headstock - hardly noticable. Bought new last year, it's a 2008 4 string H model, well cared for and has no issues - plays great, may want to do your own set up, but stunning looks and legendary sounds - it funks up and rocks out. The 3 eq offers both cut and boost on treble, mid and bass, plus a volume control. Also has compensated nut for excellent stringing and tuning. Comes with MM hardcase. Am selling only cos I am on a 'project' re. my basses and this has to go. Can ship by courier. But pick up is so much safer for everyone concerned. I am in Coventry. Payment by bank transfer, or cash only.
