1. purty quiet today so giving myself a bump
2. it's Sunday!
3.
Esbjorn Svenssen - Swedish jazz pianist who drowned in a tragic accident two years ago - they had to choose between him or his twne year old son... so they saved his son. Met the guy a couple of times and he and his band EST changed jazz so much in the last ten years - his death also killed off the band... a double tragedy and one that definitely moved me.
that's pretty darn moving
4. might also consider any old school trades (+ cash either way if necessary and where applicable) - P's J's Ricks, possibly Gibbos (but not EBs as have been down the short scale route) - thanks for any responses -
5. thanks for all the responses - i never thought to look on you tube durr!! great stuff
6. still gauging
7.
One of my regrets? Joe supported The Who at Manchester on their 2000 tour... where did I spend his set? At the bloody bar with him playing 'Rock the Casbah' in the background! Damn!
saw him with the mascelros (sp?) in Wolverhampton some years ago - he was great, knew the crowd was full of 'oldies' and kept urging everyone on saying "come on you still got it!" - he had/still has his doubters but was a proper rock n roll star - unlike some pretenders riding his coat tails today..IMHO
8. +1 that's what I love about his Smoke On Water sound - there's a really punchy, sweet, to my ears, nicely overdriven kind of sound sitting there underneath - class. Love to know what his rig was
9. Still hard to believe Joe Strummer is gone - when you look at photos of him it's like they were taken yesterday - altho over 30 years ago, he has a contemporary charisma that doesn't feel out of place or aged.
10. ...well in particular in Smoke On The Water - have been loving his sound and it just doesn't feel like it's finger style? Am I wrong? Also, anyone know to what extent Deep Purple downtuned, guessing they must have - half a step, whole step?
11. bumping for interest
12. thanks John and I don't dislike it!!
13. molan this is more like Jam - very sweet. I just think I might be more passive (bass) than I originally thought
14. 105 views - no interest - hmm
15. Okay, so gonna offer a price drop here, £50 off - might generate a bit, but not a signal for being open to offers - if no movement then will leave it for a bit. Bought from fellow BC'er Warwick Hunt - superb bass that just oozes class - this thing is so well made, beautifully light and poised, neck is STRAIGHT as a dye, gr8 frets, super fast neck, very responsive Bartolini preamp - Just not sure it is me that's all. Am also up for a likewise trade - am looking at P's, Jazzers, Ricks (with cash going your way more than likely if there's any 'Rick love to be had).. Here are some of WH's words and piccies (thanks John) from his previous posts. Guitar has, like all Zons, a graphite neck which is set-up to not require tweaking - has no noticeable fret wear. It is really perfect actually and a dream to play. 34" scale, graphite nut, string spacIng .750"/19mm, tuners Gotoh GB-7. The neck is very slim and shallow and lives up to the advertising claim to be the 'Jazz bass for the 90's'. It has Bartolini pups and a retro-fitted Bartolini pre. There are two dings: one through to the wood on the upper side, and a little chip in the headstock but no nasty bucklerash etc. Controls are Vol Pan and stacked bass/treble. The bass is pretty darn versatile - it rocks out, gets subtle and woody, and altho I don't do the slap thing, it has the armoury to go there - Thanks for reading
