1. Well, I confess.... I've been a proper Ho in the past!...... ...& sadly it doesn't end there!................ There is more!.............. a lot more!... But I'm not prepared to go public!
2.
One should always stand on the side that allows you smack your drummer in the face with your headstock without having to turn your back on the audience.

lol.....if only there was a 'LIKE' button!
3. is that Newbury near Coleford?... Sounds interesting..... more info, please!
4. Defo one of my all time favourite albums!
5.
I'd like to hear more about the effects of this when you try it, if possible? I'm considering getting one or two of these myself because of their size and weight and if this makes a big difference i'll look into doing it myself. Liam
Will try to sort this as soon as I can.... My engineer friend is also the main man for a large PA company, Very busy guy... away a lot.. Not being so 'sciencey' as him, I want him to supervise (...& he has access to materials to do the job, for free!) I seem to remember from all the talk about this on Bass Talk, Anyone who did add batting & or bracing reported that it ALWAYS improved the sound of the cabs... so I am hopeful that I will be very happy with the result....
6. Thought I'd paste my reply to your PM earlier obbm... Didn't notice this thread of yours!... I bought 2 GK MBE 2x10's about 6 months ago.... For the price, they are definitely great value. There is no doubt of that. Am I happy?.... They tick a lot of boxes in a variety of gigging situations... Punchy, good height for audibility when stacked, Soo lightweight! For me, they work best with my GK RB1001 head...makes them more meaty sounding.. The Genz Benz Neo-Pak head, I also have, gives a more precise but a bit of a 'diet' tone... Which doesn't suit my live needs as well. I do sometimes have an issue with what feels like a frequency from the boxes... a slight boom that is not controllable with EQ... this might be in my head after reading the many batting/bracing verses none arguments about these particular cabs... I have discussed the pros & cons of them with an engineer friend of mine ... He suggests that we experiment with adding batting, which I think I will try.... My preference for overall tone is my Aguilar GS112's.... when comparing gig to gig the two rigs, the Aggies are just warmer & sweeter... If Aguilar ever make neo 10's, in a price range that wasn't wallet crippling, I'd be wagging my tail! The GK MBE's are good.... I have a bass playing mate who is really happy with his combo version... So it is all very subjective, as usual! I'll experiment with them some more... I think the batting might make the difference for me, lets see....
7. I have one of these.... I really like it! so versatile. With a bit of tweaking some great dirt & I use it a lot as a clean eq-ed boost too... The Tonelock feature is a great idea. it can tend to be a bit noisy, especially with the attack switch engaged.... but I wouldn't part with it....
8. I know I've posted in here before.... but going back even further in the cobwebbed darkest corners of my childhood... I remember thinking the whumping great bass on 'Meet me on the corner' by Lindisfarne really grabbed me.... forcing me to mime it with a tennis racket!... Never been able to hold down a 'proper job' since! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-gw_ljnF-M
9. Vintage Trouble - Run outta you... Gunna be seeing them later this year at the Fleece in Brissle, should be cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scpK0HhHokg
10. Percy Jones in the early Brand X days.....
11. My twopenneth worth .... cherry sunburst with maple!
12.
Hi! 13. I've always liked the idea of running away with the Circus!... Ever since I read an article in a bass magazine about a female bass player on a circus tour.... Dunno if I could commit to this at the present time but I would be really interested in seeing the contract & details......
14. nah, soz!.... I got it...... very usable it is too!
15. Very impressive!..... Great drummer too! ....thanks for sharing
16. anything off 'Shadows & light' by Joni.... a great live album that really had an effect on me... Personally, I think some of Jaco's best playing was working Joni tunes... when I 1st heard 'In France they kiss on Main street' ...it blew me away!.....
17.
Lord Of Light (Hawkwind - Space Ritual) might be suitable. Good bass riff but pretty simple.
...... Same here!! ...All of Space ritual got my bass bone vibrating but Lord of Light was the 1st line that I managed to work out!
18.
That's a pretty awesome line-up you have there. I recognise all of them apart from the lady.... Let's see...Paul Michael Glaser (the original Dave Starsky) on the left, Robin Gibb in the middle, then Jenson Button and Simon Pegg on the right.

Could it be Sting in drag?
ok.... the secret identities of our supergroup have been rumbled!
19.
I never wanted to look like anyone in the audience at a gig...
Lovin' the bishop outfit!
20. My main covers band 'The Man from Funkle' started off as exclusively 70's funk/disco ... but has thankfully evolved into a more rounded eclectic 'pop-funk-rock-soul' outfit... With an array of stage looks that on reflection, can be a bit scary!... Here's two... the beginning & quite recent...
21. Tried a lot, over the years... but I've been settled on these for the longest, so far... keep coming back to them..
22. Thanks for that .... more Sandberg loveliness!
23.
The latest version:
....DROOL!! .... Loveliness all over!
24.
Ooh green and maple, yum! Unusual to see a natural headstock on a 'Berg.
... Yes, i was very specific in what i ordered. originally I went for no scratchplate at all but soon found that my thumb was cutting a groove in the body!... so added the see-thru one. This thread is making me re-live why I 1st got interested in investigating Sandberg... Love that basic shape, It really works for me... The fact that they are great basses too sealed the deal!
25.
I LIKE that!! A bit "Squarepusher-esque" if you don't mind me saying so...
...I'll take that as a massive compliment, sir!... Thank you kindly...
