Hi all Thanks to getting a combo again this isn't going to be needed. It's recently back from repair by the authorised TC repairer and they replaced the entire main board so it's got a clean bil of health! In good condition with only a few marks here and there £150 collected (Herefordshire) or can post for £25

Hi all, I recently bought Telebass's Super 15 from him and it is without doubt the finest cab I have ever played through! However, I've just changed car and it doesn't fit in the boot, meaning I can't leave it in the car - this is a huge problem for me as most gigs or rehearsals are after a day at work so it's impossible to get home in time to collect my gear. Telebass replaced the handles, so they're in fine nick - it's had some touch-ups to dinks on the cab so it's not new but it sounds PHENOMENAL with the two 15's and is genuinely a one hand lift, incredible. 4Ohm so squeezes out (and takes with aplomb) every bit of power. So, what I'm looking for is a combo, ideally a Trace 15" or similar. Not really an Ashdown fan but TC Electronic would be okay too. 150-500w depending on the technology used. It'd also be nice to free up some cash so I'd deffo consider cash my way (in fact I'd prefer that) or a straight sale valued at 625 I'm in Gloucester (work) or Ledbury (home) so could do a meetup near those areas or a bit further afield for diesel money. Here's a pic!
Interesting product, massively overpriced IMO. However... I shudder to think. And people would be falling over themselves to buy it too And it'd be white.
....and subsequent updates to the firmware would render it pretty much useless ;-) Cheers Apple! Hmmm, you see the thing is, I like toast AND I like playing bass. Doesn't mean I want my amplifier to warm my crumpets though...?

I call shill bidding. Those things sell day-in, day-out for around £100-150 max. Either that, or when the buyer sobers up, they are in for a shock!
This. Any 'judgment' based solely on a product's feature set is no more than speculative. Nobody knows whether a product will work for them until they get out there and try it.
Sorry, but that's only valid for a product category that already exists and is clearly defined. i.e. 'Hey guyz we iz launching a new bass amp with 100000 wattz and it iz gunna sound phat....oh but it's liek FIVE MILLION DOLLARZ LOL' is one thing and it'd be fair to say 'well, if you haven't heard it, you can't really say whether it is or isn't worth five million'. But if you're saying 'Good morning fellow bass players, have you yearned for a bluetooth equipped amp (no) that has an app (no) and sounds pretty awesome (it very well might) and you can use it instead of your Sonos/Bose/PurplePeopleEateriDock....oh but it's £600' then it IS enough to rate it as seen, on spec-sheet alone. Fact is, and I can only speak for myself but would venture it's true for others - THAT spec should be £250-300 which puts it in the 'got-a-few-quid-to-spend-and-feel-like-buying-something' category. If Ashdown take nothing away from this thread (and it sounds like they won't) then it should be 'hmmm, imagine how many more we would sell if it was cheaper'. Unless it was made from a single piece of Unobtainium and had an Apple logo on it. Sorry but them's the rules.

Full disclosure, I quite like some of Ashdown's products and they have often filled a nice gap in the market (thinking the MAG series here). However, whilst I respect your passion for your product, I take issue with the accusation that anyone that considers the price point to be too high is insane. The product is niche, it's not mass market by it's very nature - you won't sell many till you dump the price into 'I'll give that a go...' territory. You may be happy with this (after all it's not about box shifting) but as a company, I'd suggest being a little more pragmatic in the face of feedback. If a product like this isn't well received on a forum where people choose to spend their time discussing bass guitars, as a company I would be concerned that a significant part of an already slim marketplace isn't digging it. Post meant in good faith - if you chose to write the naysayers off as 'insane' when most of us are commenting on the price point alone (entirely a fair value judgement based on the information available) that's your right, however the internet is littered with the corpses of well-intentioned 'defenses' from companies' official quarters.

It'll go to Real Electronics in Sheffield - they don't muck about and will sort it. My BH500 went to them and turnaround was quick, they just replaced an entire board on it so I was pretty happy.
-
The fact they won't sell any so will all still be boxed?

I looked at that and thought 'hmmm a THR replacement for bass...nice' However they are smoking something VERY strong if they think they'll sell above £250
I love the sound of the old Ashdown Amps. The sound of the newer ones are different!
Very true - my dad has one of the very first British MAG combos - the thing is an absolute BEAST. The current models sound nothing like it at all. Although, I know his had some problems, so he took it into Ashdown HQ and worked on it - whether it got upgraded in any way whilst it was there I don't know.

I used a Classic 450 (very similar) to the RH with a PF-210 once and it sounded great. I can't see you having any problems at all with that setup! -
Thomann selling Harley Benton basses as 'Decoration only'

Well my Deko arrived and the neck was HORRIBLY 'S' shaped - I've adjusted it and it's improved a bit but there's still a massive dip in only part of the neck. Overall, I still reckon great VFM and I will be able to get it playable, just not with the action I'd ideally like. In other news, the body grain is something else and is REALLY well matched. I'm impressed! I've already done a rough re-shaping of the headstock (hate that headstock shape) and will be removing the logo (blank headstock FTW) when I come to tidy it properly. Pics will follow -
Faith every time. All solid woods and most importantly, EVERY Faith guitar has its last QC check done by luthier Patrick Eggle himself. The guy who designed the guitar and provided the training to the guys who constructs them is also the last person to check the guitar before it goes off to the store/customer. If he isn't happy that it represents his name to the best standard, it doesn't go. That's the kind of company I would want to buy my guitar from!
Is that really true? I find it hard to believe given the volumes they shift....? Not calling you a fibber, just wondering how that's really achieved in practise.
