1. Sold to gracecaswell, pending payment I have a 'second in line' too in case gracecaswell doesn't want it.
2. Postage could be an option if you weren't in too much of a hurry, will have to fashion a suitable box! Thanks James
3. Hi folks, For sale due to moving to the dark side (guitar, not the Empire)! Having owned squillions of basses and tried almost everything I could that was jazz-shaped, I can in confidence say this is the finest Jazz type money could buy under £150 and I only want £100 for it. It's a J&D Jazz ('Vintage') model which has had a full setup from Ackworth Guitar Repairs and a Kent Armstrong bridge pickup fitted. It also has an upgraded wiring loom and pots (a Kiogon one from this very forum) and comes with a good quality padded gigbag as a bonus. I genuinely can't recommend this enough - although I appreciate you only have my word to take for this, I'm happy to back this up with a guarantee - if you don't agree with me, pop it back! Collection only from Ledbury in Herefordshire - 15 mins from the M50/M5 http://s41.photobucket.com/user/Moos3h/slideshow/Nissan/Bass Cheers, James

8. SOLD Just bought these and used for one rehearsal. They sound amazing and have so much power and tone. However, I'm just about to move house and need to raise some funds It's the 2x10 combo and matching 2x10 cab. £400 collected from Halifax. Utter bargain! Sorry about the dreadful pics. 10. Hi folks, Thought I'd do the honourable thing and circulate this - a few very nice items at fine prices and the service from Drew is excellent! http://manchesterbasslounge.com/?p=5010 Cheers, James
11. Don't worry about numbers, let your ears tell you if it's working or not. Ss long as there is no unwanted distortion evident and you like the sound then all is well.
12. Any chance of a meet up? Will take at asking if so I'm in Halifax btw!
13. Hi folks, For a quick sale, I have this available at £100 - that's a lot of old school wattage for yer buck! Collected from Halifax is preferable but will post if required at buyers' expense! All working great and sounds awesome, plenty of power and lots of control with that comprehensive EQ. Cheers, James
14. Said it before, Legacy Strings from Stringsdirect.co.uk - £7.99 a pop and do the job jus' fine!
15. Good choice, I'm no raving GB fan but I think the Contour series are a lot of amp for the money. I find the TC BG250 such a shame, it's a great sounding amp but with a touch more power and an extension cab it could have been a fantastic tool - I can't understand at all the direction they are going in with the 1x12 and 2x8 versions, a mystery to me.
16. Well, I might be able to help here. I've owned both and am a current GB Contour owner (the 2x10). I'm yet to gig it, but I already feel it's going to work out better than the TC. Why? 1). I prefer the tone at lower volumes, it has more depth and punch 2). Toneprint is a useless gadget IMO - would rather have my amp simple and effective (which the GB is) 3). No extention cab out on the TC - daft move, 250w into 1x15" isn't enough headroom for your average pub band with loud drummers/guitarists 4). No reported issues (my first TC BG250 released the magic smoke) Cheers, James
17. Matching 2x10" - Mark's comments were that it was the one to go for, for out and out volume - that swung it for me
18. Hi folks, Decided to pull the trigger on a Genz Benz Contour 500 combo and extension cab, so let's timeline this: Sunday evening - GAS kicks in, exploratory email sent to Mark at Bassdirect.co.uk querying a price match Sunday evening - SAME evening, response comes back - we are go! Plans made to call in on Monday Monday morning - I call the shop and run through a few questions etc - get a bit of advise over exactly which model of extension cab to go for - advised combos are out of stock but expected early this week Monday lunchtime - Missed call and answerphone message to say the combos are in and have been sent straight out to me Tuesday morning - Combo arrived, despite the carriers best attempts to destroy it the box took the hit and the amp is perfect! Fan-tastic. I've left a similar review in the past for Bassgear who are also excellent but I have to say that this is the kind of service that encourages me greatly that the 'specialist retailers' are THE places to shop for awesome customer service and advice. Well done Mark at Bassdirect - really looking forward to trying these out tomorrow! Cheers, James
19. Grrr...what a pain. As with all these things, it's the principle more than anything - so typical of many that there's no consideration for other peoples' stuff. I think a strongly worded, yet polite message to management, band (as a whole), him and then FB etc. is the way forward. Cheers, James
