Hi folks, I have for sale my Tanglewood TW55NS electro acoustic - these retail at about £399 but mine, in good condition bar the odd mark here and there, the worst being a scrape in the lacquer on the back - not serious though! This thing sounds huge and that's because it is, really big body so the bass is excellent but the treble is very clear too. Onboard pickup and EQ as well. No case, so it's gotta be collection or meetup only - I'm in Halifax, West Yorkshire. Hi folks, Here's my OLP for sale - a nice little bass and does do the Stingray thing well. Fetching blue too! I love a blue bass :-) You know the drill with these, Chinese made, passive and look the part! £125 collected from Halifax or postage at cost and your risk - I don't have a hard case so would really rather it was collected! Cheers, James

Hi folks, I'm eyeing up Elixir strings as I LOVE them on acoustic. Has anyone tried them, particularly on a Ray or similar on bass? How do they hold up? They now do stainless - would that likely be even brighter than Nickel? Any thoughts most welcome, don't want to waste the best part of £35! Cheers, James
-
Yeah! My favorite so far is 'Eighties' but 'Leeds' sounds huge in that big, dark, way!
-
Hmmm, this is interesting - I was thinking about getting a set for my new 'ray. I used to use these as they were the brand my dad settled on, however I remember them tearing my fingers apart compared to the Nickel 'Legacy' strings I use at the moment.

Hi folks, Not really a question as such, more just to see if there's anyone that's loving their Bass Pod XT live as their floorboard in a live or studio situation? I've also found it to be a great practise tool. I'm not one for FX unless very subtle, but since getting one of these I've been really impressed what a dab of compressor, or further EQ fiddling can add to my existing rig - I've queued up three different patches that have a different EQ set up and can then swap between them depending on what the song requires. Still only scratching the surface, but I'm very impressed! My next task is to find a case to fit it into! Cheers, James

Hi folks, This thing is a fantastic bass - it's an 'Oldfield' (one of those random names for Chinese basses) which I've pimped with a set of Wilkinson Alnico pickups, brass saddles and screened the cavity. It sounds huge and is really lightweight - very comfy to play all night! It's in good condition and fully working. £100 collected from Halifax in t'north (ish) Total bargain and easily outperforms any off-the-shelf P/J combo bass at double the price in my opinion! Cheers, James

Two things I find helps: One? Less is more. I don't know a single band that put more stock in flashy fast stuff over being able to hold a solid groove, tucked in with the drummer. Two? If you can't hum it, you'll struggle to play it. Try to hear the part you're you're attempting to play, first and the fingers will follow!
