2. Hi everyone, Bought this fine specimen from ahpook on here - lovely chap and a lovely bass, but I really wanted to try a Warwick and prefer the sound of my precision - so it's gotta go! Upgraded with a Bartolini pickup and Artec active preamp - it's a fantastic thing! I'm after exactly what I paid for it, which is £230 - I have since set it up to my preference and replaced the strings, so I think it's a great price. Postage will be at cost and the price is fixed - if it doesn't sell, it will be an admirable backup bass - in fact, it's too good to keep it for that! Here's the original thread: http://basschat.co.u...69#entry1601769 Here's some pics: Cheers, James
3. Cheers Stevie - aye, it's a fantastic thing - it's only moving to Active speakers that has made it surplus to requirements! Bit tatty, but this Yammy stuff is built for life on the road.
4. Bought a very fab Sunn Mustang bass from Joe on here and whilst the bass played well, the sound was a bit anaemic. £25 later for an Axesrus P Bass pickup and it's back - lively, powerful and everything a good P bass should be. The pickup has waxed wire, alnico magnets and is even completely sealed and wax potted. Astonishing value for money!
5. Lovely guy and very understanding when I had the car in bits and had forgot to get the stuff ready! TOP bloke - deal with confidence!
6. Found in my loft. I forgot I'd put it there in 1972, despite my house not being built until 2008 and me only being 29 years old. Very accurate copy. Made in the same factory? Don't ask me for details as I'm not a bassplayer and have no idea about guitars. However, my friend assures me this is a Rickenfaker and just like the one Brice Faxton and Jim Squier used to play in the 70s. £899 or very near offer? NO collection, sorry as I'd be afraid you might attempt to make conversation. Cheers, James
7. Protecting intellectual property is one thing. Coming across as a total bell-end by chasing private sales in a foreign country for a 30 year old instrument is another. You'd have thought that the PR disaster that such petty actions are bound to stir up, would be best avoided. But perhaps that's just me being naive. Either way, it won't affect me as I've never liked Rickys and wouldn't buy one in a thousand lifetimes.
8. Just done the maths and think I can get these posted for £25 each. Basically it'll be a roll of bubble wrap all around them - I have no box. As long as the buyer is happy with this, postage is now an option. Although collection still massively preferred and I might be able to meet half way for petrol monies. Cheers, James
9. Hmmmm, well, I COULD post but it'd be expensive as a courier would be about 12 quid and i'd want to buy a load of bubble wrap, it'd probably be just under £30 all in, not including the original speaker? Would much prefer collection though!
