1. In my opinion - I've not been able to A/B these as I last had a 'loan' BF Compact about 2 years ago, it's really fairly close when you consider the difference in price. Yes, a bit heavier but tonally in a similar ballpark - it's certainly a case of what you put in is largely what you get out. I've been very happy with these indeed.
2. I could possibly do some delivery personally, and will be in Halifax a week Weds if of interest to anyone is happy to pay a bit of Petrol monies etc.
3. Just used a seriously Heath Robinson method of 'weighing' these and they came out at 23kg each! Please don't 100% hold me to that as it was far From scientific but it's a ballpark indication if nothing else
4. It is right! A bargain, I think you'll agree
5. Neither have tweeters, nope. I don't know about the weight but I can see if I can try and find a way of weighing them - one look at me and you'll be able to tell I'm not a man with a set of bathroom scales!
6. I couldn't really box 'em but perhaps someone in the BC community is doing an M4 run and can courier for you? Cheers, James
7. Hi all, Barely used - has the NEW UPGRADED PSU which reduces the noise that the originals suffered from. Great condition, boxed and ready to go - fully working! £125 collected or can post for a tenner on top. These are £169 new in the shops so save yerself a few quid and be assured of one with the quiet PSU! Cheers, James
8. Hi folks, *** UPDATE - One Sold, One Left! *** Ashdown MAG cabinets with the drivers replaced with Eminence Deltalite II 2515 15" 8 Ohm. So light they are a one-hand carry, if required! I have the original speakers too, if required but believe me these are AMAZING since they have been upgraded. Nothing wrong with the old ones but it's no comparison between them and the Eminence ones! Only for sale as I've decided to go for one 4 ohm cabinet, rather than carrying two around and moved back to a 4x10 as I have the luxury of understanding band-mates for the load-in! These drivers are now £110 new and the cabs of course are about £180 with the original drivers. I'm asking just £125 per cab with the original speakers included too, for collection. £125 for EACH Cab 1: Cab 2: One is in marginally better condition that the other - both have holes for two sets of feet but one cab has them missing, screws are included - £5 from eBay if you wanted to add them back. One cab has two handles, the other just one. Odd - apparently a special order from the Ashdown factory. Cheers, James
9. Hi folks. I had one of these not long after they came out, loved it, sold it (like a muppet) and then I bought another. However, I've just got a Warwick and I love it so this must go to free room and money! These are amazing basses - loads of output (it's active), tonnes of tones available and really good build quality. This is in excellent condition with only the odd mark here and there (tiny stuff but enough to say it's used). Now, I won't be upset if this doesn't sell so I won't be considering low-ball offers, however try me with trades and offers. Preference will always be given to those who can collect from me in Stevenage / St Albans in Hertfordshire. If you absolutely must have it posted, I can do so for £35 which might seem expensive but that's the courier, a WHOLE roll of bubble wrap and a roll of gaffa tape. As my feedback thread says, I don't muck around when it comes to packaging! Will include a ritter gig bag that has seen better days but it does work. Pics!
10. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being negative about barefaced cabs but what I will say is that when I has a Compact on loan, it was loud and it was light but I didn't really like the lack or coloration to the tone. Call me traditional but I'm from the heavy lifting brigade!
11. That's a genius idea! Will see if I can do that
12. Thanks - I'm thinking I'll do what Stevie says and find a piezo tweeter, wire it up outside the cab and see if I like it. If I do, I'll chuck it in the cab. If it doesn't sound right to my ear then it's only a few quid lost. I've contemplated changing cabs but in all other respects (size, weight, overall tone) I'm very happy with these.
13. Thanks Stevie - that was a really helpful answer. Could/would you recommend a particular one (Piezo)?
14. Hi folks, I run two Ashdown MAG cabinets with upgraded neo Eminence speakers and love 'em. Except sometimes, I just feel I'd like that super high-end you get from a tweeter. Can I buy a tweeter and lob it in? Or am I going to need to faff with a crossover and such? I thought that there are some tweeters either had them built in, or didn't need them, due to their design? Any help and recommendations would be GREAT! Thanks, James
15. I'm afraid that I had a very bad experience with the PF-500 and wouldn't touch one. I could have been unlucky but there are a fair few similar tales on the Intraweb about problems - I know you often only hear about the bad stuff but I was very disappointed. It went straight back and I moved over to GK Cheers, James

17. Don't use files! Use 'Welding tip cleaners' - available off the bay for about £4 and from hardware shops for less. Perfect for cutting a nut!
18. Hi folks, Ideal for bass or PA applications - plenty of go! RMS Figures: 350W - 8 ohm 600W - 4 ohm 1200W - 8 ohm Bridge Takes up 2u of rackspace in reasonable, gigged condition! Heavy so collect only or £15 postage! £125 - a LOT of power for not much moolah! Cheers, James
19. Trades possibly considered but would prefer an outright sale if possible!
