Hi folks, Not sure if you'd remember, but I recently bought one of these, had a couple of minor problems with it and the amazing guys at Overwater sorted me out with this, its replacement. This has been to Chris at Overwater for a full checkup and setup and plays and sounds SUPERB. There's a thread somewhere. Sadly though, I need to raise some cash for car repairs (snapped cambelt) so I need to TRADE this plus some decent cash my way. Outright sale price is now £450 + postage, what a bargain! The bass is in lovely condition, but IS being gigged, so please expect the odd scuff or minor scratch here and there, as you'd expect from any instrument that's actually been played. Please give this a good home - these basses are simply stunning value for money, even at full RRP - what I'm asking for makes it bargain of the year! Meetup preferred, I'm in St Albans / Stevenage in Herts. Cheers, James

Hi folks, Just felt the need to put a quick note on here to say how incredibly impressed I have been with Tanglewood/Overwater. I recently posted a reply to someone who had bought one of the Tanglewaters at the same time as me, to say that I'd had a couple of minor issues with mine. It wasn't a rant and I've no idea how TW (to save me typing) saw it, but within 24 hours of me posting the original message, they got in touch to ask what they could do to resolve the problems. I was incredibly impressed that they offered to replace the bass, over and above what I would have considered their obligations to be. Anyway, yesterday I picked up the replacement bass that had not only been checked over, but fully set up in advance of me receiving it - took it and gigged it last night and it's spot on. Quite frankly I am blown away by the customer service here - larger companies (and, I suspect, some smaller ones) take note - this is how it should be. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them very strongly! Cheers, Mr Satisfied Customer of Hertfordshire (or James, to my friends)

Actually, just realised this might sound like I'm doing a bit of thread-pissing, sorry - not the intention!

Yeah, looks like my control cavity. Ain't exactly a faraday cage, is it?
I would contact Overwater and ask for a replacement or at least some help with it. Not good. Hope you get it sorted.
It did cross my mind, but with a gig to do yesterday evening I had to sort these things myself - it'll teach me to set up a bass with the shops shut! With the exception of the shielding (but I only noticed that today) it's all easily done, but didn't inspire masses of confidence - little things like the neck bolt ferrules falling out with the screws out makes me think there's a reason they are the price they are. As it goes, it plays well (now) and I'm pretty happy with it - the tone was great at last night's gig and the neck is just lovely.

SNAP! Bought one of these yesterday, although a little disappointed with how noisy it was at last night's gig - opened up the control cavity today and I don't at all agree with Guitar and Bass Magazine's 'Well shielded' comment. Also, had to shim the neck as couldn't get the action low enough and one of the screws fell apart. Seriously. Oh yes, and without the strings on, the bridge saddles fell off and the nut doesn't seem to be glued in place, so is able to move from side to side! I think these are well appointed basses, but so far I'm not impressed with the build of mine. Friday effort?

Hi folks, Bought on here very recently, but I'm having to turn it around as I've just received a bit of a bill that needs paying that is the ONLY reason for sale, but please see below as I prefer to be 100% upfront with prospective purchasers. I purchased it recently on BC and the previous seller didn't know that the truss rod was maxxed out - it had MASSIVE strings fitted to it. I have taken the neck off, lubed the truss nut, restrung, fret polished, re-seated the bridge, re-done the wiring, rolled the (sharp) fingerboard edges, treated the fingerboard, fitted a new jack socket, re-soldered three connections and lastly put the whole lot back together. It now plays brilliantly, sounds great and has just the right amount of relief with 45-100's on there at the moment. It has a lovely new set of strings on it and is ready to, ahem, rock. Here's the original FS thread: http://basschat.co.u...lue-pearl-sold/ With this in mind, given the work I've done on it I am looking for £120 - it's a lot of bass for that, and worth every penny as a bargain basement 'ray. Trades will be considered, but I need the cash so would prefer a direct sale. I can meet up if near Hertfordshire or post for £20 New piccies on the way. Cheers, James
