1. Hi folks, Bought from the lovely chap that is mojobass of this very forum, I have to move this on as I need the money and the only other bass I have isn't worth as much! I will sell for what I paid, which is £130. Delivery at cost. No offers though, thanks, as this is a total steal at this price. Recent setup and new strings - it has a few dinks and scuffs here and there - please see the photos, the worst being a dink on the back that I can't get to photograph properly - nothing horrific, but I feel it best to mention these things in advance. If you love the MM stingray sound, this has it in BUCKETS Collection welcome from St Albans or Stevenage. I will post, but would rather not if it can be avoided so please PM me to discuss arrangements. Cheers, James
2. I played that one in Coda VERY nice matey, very nice. I'd recommend some new strings on it though - the ones they (all) come with didn't do much for me at all and had intonation problems, probably just old.
3. And I think we have it sold Pending the usual on Friday!
4. I'm running two lots of the 2x12's and cannot recommend it enough. Even with one of the cabs, it sounds great. Two is just IMMENSE! I love it.
5. Hi folks, Just thought I'd give a bit of credit to Parcel Force. Having realised yesterday that the bass the seller kindly made a big effort to post to me on Thursday via 24 hour was not going to arrive, I gave their customer services desk a ring. They found out that it had suffered an unknown delay in their Cleveland branch and it hadn't been scheduled for delivery until Monday. The lady on the phone rang the depot, arranged for an upgrade to Saturday delivery and to a different address - I really didn't hold out much hope, but it arrived at 8.30 this morning! Now, I know you could always say they should have delivered it when promised anyway, but at least they put something right rather than just shrugging their shoulders and not taking an interest. Cheers, James
6. If it helps, the lack of tweeter should not be a problem for you - I actually found the Compact I had (a loan one) was a little TOO trebly for me. That's not to say it was lacking bass, but I found it quite high-mid focussed when I was expecting a dark and wooly (in a good way) sound! What didn't help was that I was underpowering it a bit, using a GK Backline 600 which didn't have enough balls to really get that driver going!
7. In my opinion, the Little B is not powerful enough for gigging if you have a beefy drummer. The Orange, however REALLY is! I rate the Orange a lot, the Ashdown is GREAT but in my opinion it's just not got QUITE enough guts for a band environment in need of high levels of on stage volume. Others' opinions may of course vary!
8. Whilst its not the only spec that matters, far from it - try and always get the XMax from the speaker specs. I recently discovered that despite crazy thermal ratings (300w and upwards), if the Xmax is poor - the speaker could fart out and sound very poor.
9. My local shop has three Affinitys - all of which are total garbage. I'm not saying they ALL are, but you have a higher than average chance of getting a total snotter so I would never buy blind.
10. Do it properly, call Mark at Bass Direct - he'll sort you out!
11. I'd 'ave this, but it's too many monies for me I'm afraid
12. In my opinion, it's a classic mismatch - to me, the Ashdown sound is very at odds with the TC-Electronic sound, as you say the latter is very 'HiFi' and I find Ashdown really old-school sounding. I think you need to have a play with combinations - do you know anyone that can lend you a different head/cab so you can hear how the two sound connected up to something else?
13. That is the exact colour combo Westfield P basses are available in. Just sayin'.
14. On eBay at a worry-inducing £3.20! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=330587734055
