  1. I haven’t opened up the LB cab but it’s MUCH lighter than the V112 - could be a neo speaker? The two cabs sound absolutely huge together so it seems to work well!
  2. Hi all, Due to moving to 100% in-ears, I have no need for my recently-assembled rig of tiny but mighty doom! This is: Amp: TC Electronic Classic 450 head with TC Gig bag. Cab 1: Ashdown 'Little Bastard' 1 x 12" (8ohm) Cab 2: Ashdown VS112 1 x 12" (8 Ohm) 2 x Speakon Leads Ashdown replaced the speaker in the VS112 due to a buzz so it's now running the Ashdown Blueline (white cone) speaker and sounds huge. I know everyone always says this but I have no heard a better rig for the size and cost - recently gigged this at Worcester Warriors and it sounded MASSIVE - handles the low B of a five-string beautifully and so small and portable. Would rather not split, but would consider selling both speaker cables as one lot and the amp as another. I'm working in Swindon next week so could always do a meet up in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Worcester or Swindon if easier. Cheers! James
  3. Further to this, bought the Blake case from eBay. Initial thoughts: - Well-made - Delivery a touch slow but not bad, just not the typical ‘next day’ (not that this was promised - just high expectations) - Very solid - mid-way between a gig bag and foam case - Roomy - almost too much, my Cort rattles around in it a bit - Someone at the company is clearly a smoker. Quite a strong smell of second hand smoke, not very pleasant but sure it will go in time. Overall I’m pretty happy with it.
  4. I’ll be having this then. Rude not to!
  5. Sorry for the late reply. Amp still available and I'm back in Cornwall (Redruth so not far) on Tuesday evening?
  6. I’ve had a really good look, deffo nothing loose and / or signs of damage. 99.9% certain it’s mechanical inside the speaker. Low B really gives it something to think about - other cab is totally fine tho!
  7. Interesting - I LOVE the strings that came fitted to my BB735a (now sadly for sale) and had been wondering what they were so I can grab a set.
  8. I should add that there is definitely a buzz from one of the drivers too (absent from the other cab and 100% not something vibrating) even at lowish volumes so I think it’s a good excuse to try a driver upgrade!
  9. Thanks both - yes the cab is totally un-damped. Worth adding some whilst I’ve got the driver out?
  10. The early ones were amazing, yet to play a new one but I think the risk of variability is greater at this end of the market - ideally play before you buy or buy from somewhere with a good returns policy if you get bad grain or other flaws?
  11. It’s now on eBay: - https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F333259025545 Battery clip looks, erm ‘normal’ but I’m no expert!
  12. Hi all, Im considering changing the driver in the Little Bastard 12” cab as it struggles since I’ve moved to 5 string. I REALLY love the size of the cab so would be keen to see if I can breathe new life into it. There’s no tweeter so I do need something that can cover the ‘full range’ so may be in moon on a stick territory! Amp is 500w so each cab receives 250w ish Thinking Beyma SM212? Thanks in advance
  13. Yeah the preamp is hella powerful too - switching from this to my Cort, I have to crank the gain up a fair amount to balance the two, such is the wallop the Yamaha delivers!
  14. Price drop to £645 to get it gone ASAP. I'm up and down the M5 / A30 to Cornwall, so meet-ups inn Bristol, Exeter, Taunton, Cornwall etc. all nicely doable.
  15. Yuppo! Will be heading down Sunday night if that works for you!
  16. It does! I have expect a few of these will have suffered the old ‘belt sander and crappy Fender decal’ treatment. Thankfully not the case with this one!
  17. Sounds better than it deserves given the questionable output but it’s really a rather fine and very useful amp, I’ve been using this as a stage monitor as the kickback works really well and then DI’ing (which also sounds great) to the PA. Oh and it’s a Bugera BXD12. Usual meet-ups possible - Worcester, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Exeter, Cornwall.
  18. ‘Legend’ (Aria?) P Bass. But battered and nicely mojo-y but plays and sounds phenomenal. Up against my Fender USA P (now departed) this thing smoked it for tone...lord knows why but it’s got ‘it’ (whatever ‘it’ is). Come and grab it. Worcester, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol, Exeter, Taunton and Cornwall all possible meet-up locations.
  19. I love this thing. Check out that colour! Currently got flatwounds and pays silkily smooth. Some dinks etc. Slightly scratchy pot if I’m being hyper critical but sure switch cleaner will see that off. Would rather not post but can at you cost/risk etc. Collection from Worcester, Cheltenham, Glouceste, Bristol, Taunton, Exeter and Cornwall.
  20. Hi all, It's this one: http://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/BB_735A.html purchased from Bass Direct last month and in lovely condition having not been gigged. Comes with the (really good) Yamaha gig bag. I'm based in Malvern but do get down to Cornwall regularly so there are meet up options aplenty down the M5 or A30. I'm LOVING playing five string, but the neck is just that little bit big for me - I've played a few Corts and Ibanez and these seem a better shape. Not really after trades now as managed to pick up a Cort locally that I think I'm going to dig but as ever do try me - would rather have the cash. Thanks, James
  21. Perfect timing, I've been looking for one of these - I'll have that please Geoff
