1. Would you say it's giggable without PA re-inforcement? Cheers! James
2. Hi everyone, I have a recently repaired, fully working and monstrously powerful Hartke HA3500 amp and Pro 2220 cab, as below: Head is in an ABS case, bit scrappy but functional and keeps the rain off. I am looking for a 15" or 2x10" combo that won't break my back but is still powerful enough for gigs, something like the Ashdown MAG series or equivalent I guess, but open to ideas! It's a meetup only job here, ain't no posting this stuff! I'm in Hertfordshire. Alternatively, I would sell at £300 for the pair? Cheers, James
3. I think that looks pretty good - just wonder whether it could be worth a punt at that price! Cheers, James
4. Hmmm - any forumites that could help me out here? No-one passes from Herts to Greenwich, do they??
5. Offer of £150 posted still stands - check eBay calculator to see what you'll lose in fees before listing it! Frightening these days!
6.
Hi chaps Have been GAS'ing for a bass that can do the Jazz bass and Stingray/MM-style in one package - can't afford a Sandberg Cali JM4 or a StingRay HS at the moment (although they're both on my 'must audition' list!). Having had a brief noodle on a Cort GB74A at the London 'bash a few months ago, I've started looking at budget options as well. One idea was to get a cheap-ish Jazz bass and rout out an MM pickup in place of the bridge pickup, but for less money, I could get me one of these (Cort GB34A). Good idea, or barking up the wrong tree? Ian
Excellent basses, but be warned they have quite a wide, flat neck that may or may not be to your taste! Cheers, James
7. Bought my combo from me and arranged swift meetup - all good! Top man and another good example of a fine BC'er! Cheers, James
8. Another bit of positive feedback for Frank - came and collected my cabs on his way to a gig! Rock and Roll! Thanks again Frank!
9.
Mine now. Ridiculously good cabs for the money. I now have a modular 3x15" rig: I'm just so damnend old-school it hurts (mainly the audience).
Glad you're pleased Frank! Cheers, James
10. Send me a PM or list in the for sale section when you've decided matey
11. Nope, they are one of those Crack Convertor type places that pawn Jewellery etc! However, they have one bloke that works there (and has done for years) who is a keen muso, so knows enough to only buy in the things that are worthwhile and will sell...doesn't stop them having a few hideous guitars around the place, mind! MAG 400 is long discontinued, the red face UK built ones being replaced with the MAG300 and MAG600 both largely made in China, although some UK built stock does surface from time to time. Get some pics up, but depending on price I would be interested as I have a soft spot (not necessarily shared here, oddly) for the MAG tone. Cheers, James
12. Well, it would always depend on decent pics being available, but if it helps I saw a MAG 400 (which I nearly bought) on sale in Wants in Exeter for £150 yesterday with a 3 month warranty so that should give you a ballpark figure for what you'd be likely to get for it?
13. Some further detail is always going to help I guess, head or combo? If combo, what speaker config? Will you post? Any issues? Any pics? Define 'quite good' condition. I know sometimes I can go overboard on detail when selling, but more information should lead people into a more informed decision over whether to buy or not! Cheers, James
14. Price drop! Also comes with port covers too, so you can tailor the sound to suit!
15. I should add that I might be able to do a personal meet-up if it suits? Contact me if interested and we can discuss!
16. Sorry chaps, but no need for basses - will consider trades for a 300w + amp head!
