Hi all, I have an Epiphone Valve Senior + matching extension cab (and adaptor) for sale! Bought for a project that never took off. 18w all valve (12ax7 Preamp, 6V6GT Power) into a 12" Eminence Lady Luck. These sound amazing, and being 18w can be driven just the right amount to hit the sweet spot without anger from OUR side of the stage! Cash on Collection preferred. Looking for £200 for the pair! Stevenage in Herts but MAY be able to meetup half way, contact me for info! Cheers, James

Because the Classic Vibe is a phenomenal bass! In my opinion it's in a different league to the VM too, so I can see you being VERY pleased if you get one!

Hi all, I bought this bass in a poor state and I've made it less poor. God knows what it was originally, but it's a very resonant and nice playing plank quite frankly - really surprising. Let's be honest though, it's not for the perspex-case brigade, this is a battle scarred road warrior (or something) that actually sounds great and I think it plays better than my other 'Jazz'. Can I state the bleedin' obvious for a sec? IT'S NOT A FENDER! I applied the logo which was kindly given to me by Dave.C as a practise before doing my other Jazz as I wasn't afraid to experiment on this bass. It's not a brilliant job but gets the job done from a distance. Fitted with Wilkinson Jazz pickups (very impressive indeed) and quite frankly it's better than I think it deserves to be. Not asking much for this, given it's rustic nature, so looking for £120 including a crap 'Fender' case (big Fender decal but looks more like a Stagg ABS) that has some corner damage but it's functional and FREE! Postage on top, or you're welcome to collect from me in Hertfordshire! Cheers, James

Top man! Sent me a freebie and it arrived this morning well packed and very quick. Absolutely top notch bloke and a fine example of what makes basschat.co.uk a great place to be! Cheers, James

Top geeza alert! Have replied, thanks Dave

Those are exactly the jobs! Let me know if you're up for selling? Thanks a lot Dave! James

Lemonrock is truly awesome, I'd estimate roughly 30-40% of our gigs come from there. It's VERY regional, but we're nicely placed and it works well for us. Nice iPhone app now too!

Thanks Dave, that'd be incredibly kind. Cheers, James

Hi all, I have a really poor quality J bass copy that i'd like to put a Fender logo on the headstock of, it's never going to fool anyone so it's only for aesthetics - I was even contemplating doing a 'Faker Jazz' logo, but can't find anyone that sells them in the UK. Have tried ebay and couldn't really find much, likewise a google didn't throw anything of use this side of the pond. Thanks in advance, James

Hi all, I have two of these in really good condition: http://www.directproaudio.com/product.cfm?directid=54689 They are pretty neat little things, just feed them an XLR and you have your own personal monitor - FAR better than stage wedges in my opinion as the sound is more focussed, less chance of feedback and thus overall stage volumes are lower. In generally good condition, a few scuffs but all works fine. Looking for £150 the pair (inc the Mic Stands) plus delivery or preferably collected from me in St Albans or Stevenage. Cheers, James

Great voice, energetic performances and nice writing style. I think she's great. Some don't as they're not that fond of the unusual style, but I reckon she's a country mile ahead of her peers.

Hi all, The subject header said it all really...it's in good condition and sounds better than it should for its size! It's also pretty loud, and I used it for an 'acoustic' gig recently and it acquitted itself superbly! Celestion speaker helps no end, I suspect! £20 collected from St Albans / Stevenage! Cheers, James

Hi all, I have a pair of these, for £80 ovno the pair! They are well used and gig worn, but never overdriven and always sounded fantastic. They aren't too heavy as well, which is rather a bonus. Top hats fitted and 2 x 1/4" jack inputs. Made in England! I believe these are 200w and 8 ohm each. Pictures coming soon - need them out of the way! Cheers, James

Hi all, I have an old flame on its way back to me this weekend, so should stick to my 'one in, one out' policy. Firstly, my pictures are not doing this bass justice at all - it's a lovely looking thing with an incredible neck. In terms of condition it's not bad, but has been gigged so dings, dents and scratches n' scuffs are to be expected but nothing out of the ordinary for a gigged instrument I would say but please don't expect box fresh! THE WEIRD STUFF ON THE SCRATCHPLATE is just reflections of the dandelions in my (embarassingly overgrown) garden. I will take some more soon. So, it's a passive J-type bass but with big output thanks to the stunning pickups. I would put these in ANY jazz I have as they are just fantastic, bags of output but very smooth sounding and not too harsh like some powerful passive units. The neck is very comfy, the bass overall feels quite light compared to my other jazz and it hangs very well on the strap, thanks to the Ultralite tuners. A superb bass that easily poops on some twice its price. £250 inc CASE and postage for this beauty, it truly is worth every penny so I am afraid I am firm on the price. Cheers, James

Adive from those who play in covers/function band?
Moos3h replied to Linus27's topic in General Discussion
I believe they are under-charging for function work. If we were talking pubs/clubs then that's a fair price. But given the prices that I've seen locally for wedding bands, it should be doubled at least. Bear in mind that people are USED to paying more for weddings, partly because it IS a day or half-day's work given that set-up time is often at the other end of the day as the bridal party can require no noise/movement to the stage area whilst it is being used for reception/drinks/food. It will always depend on the gig, but they shouldn't under-value themselves as it doesn't do the industry any good, let alone their pockets!
