FEELER: Peavey Tour 450 + 3u Case + Rack Tuner
Moos3h replied to Moos3h's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Cool, no worries - I doubt you'll find much negative stuff, I did the same as you whilst researching this one. One thing to be aware, as many will say on here - the difference between 450wRMS and 700wRMS isn't that huge in terms of actual power. This thing is uber loud anyway, but as ever a lot depends on your cabs. Cheers, James -

Can't say I'm much of a fan (or don't know) a lot on your list, but I think Acoustic Ladyland and Polar Bear are both from the UK and they make music I adore!

Hi all, No pics just yet as this is a feeler, would anyone be interested in the above? Would rather not split. Peavey Tour 450 Head Pulse 3u Rack Case - One handle broken but otherwise perfectly fine. Just needs a new rivet Behringer BTR2000 - Tuner and Rack Light I'd be looking for £280 all in, which given my Tour 450 is two months old seems a good deal, no? Let me know your thoughts chaps! Cheers, James

Thanks for that, but I know what the notes are (roughly) it's more the general feel to that section, its very different from the rest of the song and I can't work out how to get that sort of push going on. Should have been clearer in my original message Cheers, James

Hi all, Anyone know this song well? Trying to get my head round that mid 8 from 'If you feel there's no passion...' Any help, apart from 'give up and learn drums' would be welcomed! Cheers, James

18 and out I'm only 29 - Oh dear. That'll be playing without earplugs for all those years then. Cheers, James

Hi all, Found myself in need of two 15" speakers and grabbed these only to find some Fane speakers dirt cheap! I have tested these and they work perfectly, they are 99dB sensitivity so actually 'louder' than the Fanes that have replaced them. They are 400w each, Eminence Delta 15A, the full spec of which should be available here: http://eminence.com/pdf/delta-15a.pdf Below are pictures of the actual speakers, both in good condition - one has a minor crease in the dust cap which does not affect the sound in the slightest. Both of these have been tested at decent volumes and are free from any peculiar noises and sound superb! £50 the pair, collected or will post at (quite expensive given the weight) cost.

Negative feedback right away - keep it clean and factual. It's the only way. What a Tw@

Ashdown Superfly died on me last night (UPDATE!!)
Moos3h replied to Davy's topic in Repairs and Technical
This is the second very similar post we've had about these in the last couple of days. If it's under warranty, for gods sake send it back - ignore the helpful suggestions that it might be dirty mains power, dodgy mains lead etc. as even if that is the case, a well designed amplifier should cope with these things. There's a good reason why these have a very bad reputation - whilst you still have the chance to get it sort free of charge do it. It's only my opinion, but these amps seem to fundamentally flawed in their design - when I returned mine the shop said 'Another one for the pile' - apparently they weren't bothering to return them for repair as the returns rate was so high, just offering credits against something else. -
You're not going to get a definitive answer, I am afraid. Too much is subjective. The only reasons manufacturers give out these measurements are to standardise the setup, it doesn't take account of various factors - player preference being the most obvious. As daft as it sounds, you're going to need to find this out for yourself. Bring the action down to what you would call too low (i.e. buzzy) and then raise it until YOU feel comfortable and happy. If the neck is correctly curved and the frets suitably level you should get a good buzz-free action without it feeling uncomfortably high. Cheers, James

Hi all, I find myself in need of a couple of new 15" speakers so the following only-just-acquired bass is for sale! All in good condition, some minor wear to the fretboard as is normal on these models but nothing that impairs playing or is noticeable from a distance. SOLD - Pending payment! Cheers, James

Little bump from me, the original owner. I can even tell you how that lacquer damage happened. Was doing my best Alan Partridge around the living room and the phone rang. Turned round to answer it and clocked the headstock on the door frame. Didn't even go out of tune, but was enough to take some lacquer off. Fantastic bass, I've owned a few of these now and they are just awesome - put it up against any Mexican or Japanese Fender and it's just as good, especially post pickup upgrade.

Hi all, I know Boogie stuff gets quite a lot of love here, and saw this little lot when I visited the shop on Friday so thought I'd share the wealth. Seems very reasonably priced? Apologies if this isn't really the right subforum, but I didn't know where to put it! HALP: Information needed about the band 'Stretch'
Moos3h replied to Moos3h's topic in General Discussion
Oh dear, going to be having a conversation with myself here, but have now found their website - hurrah! Someone fire their web designer, but here it is in all its glory: http://www.stretch-music.com/ -
Hi all, Long story short, was listening to 'Why did you do that thing to me?' and thought I'd see what else 'Stretch' did. Fired up spotify and the only real listing for an album they have is 'Stretch 2007' - this ISN'T the same band, but it's brilliant, I love it! The album has a white arrow on a blue background. However, there's no 'buy from....' link and I can't find any info on last.fm. iTunes has a couple of albums (now bought) but a google search doesn't seem to turn much up. For those with spotify: Listen here - I think! Anyone know much about this band? Similar artists? Could (and will) listen to this all day. Cheers, James

Hi all, Just looking to get shot of this to make some room. It has literally been used once and only at moderate volumes! Generally speaking it is in as new condition! It is as the following link: http://www.audiointimidation.com/aka115.html £25 - Come and collect from either St Albans or Stevenage. Fully working - Speakon and Jack connections. Actually sounds really great! Cheers, James

Just to add the perhaps bleeding obvious, but I would be suspicious of anything that is blowing fuses regularly. The Superfly's don't exactly have a legendary rep for reliability so I'd consider getting Ashdown to look at it. Is it under warranty?
